Beauty's is a bit anomalous in a world dominated by *other* kinds of delivery pizza.

The pizza is never too greasy.  The pizza has a delicious crust, but rarely too thick.  The toppings are quite good.  The pizza is baked to be close to perfection.  The whole wheat crust is to die for.  Back when I ate white flour, the other crusts weren't half bad, either.

I will concede to other reviewers that they make mistakes from time to time.  And yes, I've picked off the odd topping that made my pizza for some unknown, unknowable reason.  But, on the other hand, they're very responsive, and, in general, their view of customer service is phenomenal

The on-line ordering system is really just the icing.  For someone like me, who's partially deaf, it's definitely worth every second.  For others, it's simply a convenient way to click your way to dinner, and moreover, it's a dinner that's going to be a lot closer to what you wanted to order than telephoning the pizza place around the corner, where your order may be taken indifferently ... if indeed, your order is taken at all.

Love Beauty's! So easy to order online, which is probably why we do it so often.

The pizza is delicious, but not alway consistent, which is why I didn't go for 5 stars.

Hosted an event this week for three days and pre-ordered the pizza from this place the week prior for about 30ish students each day.... so about $600 of business for them, from us, this week.  Most of my team manages these events from the West coast, so we try to be diligent about planning ahead.

    Pros: Pizza was good.

Cons: they were late every day...by btwn 30 - 45 minutes.  When the guy did show, there were an average of 4 - 6 pizzas that were inedible because the box had been lugged sideways instead of flat.  First day, I called about the 5 pizzas we couldn't eat, they sent some replacements while a group of hungry students waited an extra hour for lunch.... second day, they again brought late and crumpled pizza despite calling to verify the delivery time.  Third day, called in the AM to make sure we were good to go... guy showed up 45 mins late.  When I called the manager, he told me he was sorry and that he would fire the driver... seems like not only a bad business, but a horrible place to work.

Get your pizza from someplace else!!

I ordered an Italian sub - nothing special.  What was shocking is seeing that they added their own tip on top of my bill after I left.  I just checked my account and there is a $3 dollar charge higher than what I signed for.

Never going back here again, I hope the loss of my customer lifetime value was worth the $3.

Good thing there are better and more honest options all over Kendall square.

I love this place!  I've been ordering delivery from here for a couple years now and have had a thoroughly positive experience.  The pizza is great, and some of the sandwiches are pretty delicious.

Importantly, the people are very friendly.  They make it very easy to decide to order again.

As other reviewers have noted, they do sometimes make mistakes and substitutions. It's a bit frustrating, but not enough to stop me from being a customer.

We've been ordering delivery from here for awhile now and the impetus for this review is the result of too many mishaps and minor disappointments that just kept adding up.

The good: the pizza is great, best thing they've got going for them. The bbq chicken and the Margherita pizzas are the best!

Now, the bad: several items in our order were either not delivered or switched without our consent. I hate it when places do that. I ordered baklava (my weakness, it's delicious) and instead of just saying they were out, they sent a piece of cheesecake. If I wanted cheesecake I would have ordered cheesecake. Tell me you're out next time and save me my $3.00.

Then, we ordered an iced tea. It did not arrive. When I called about these two errors they said "oh we we're out of baklava, we'll give you a free one next time." oh yeah!? You're gonna remember me? Doubtful. They also said they'd drop off the iced tea, and that never happened.

    In essence, we were robbed!

Doubt we're gonna order from here again, which is a shame because the pizza is mighty good.

I regularly use Beauty's as my go-to for work lunches for myself and for team meetings.  Their pizza toppings taste fresh, their crusts are delicious, and nothing drips with grease.  The Pizza Americana really is EXACTLY what I ate as a child at the local pizzerias.  Their salads are huge and filling; the Cranberry-Walnuts Chicken Salad has perfect amounts of everything.  I think Beauty's has a good sense of balance -- they serve delicious food, so they don't have to hide it under clumps of extra cheese or grease.

Ordering online could not be easier and they save your delivery info and track your orders to give you a discount reward.  (How neat is that?!)  Each item you order can be noted with special instructions, so you can leave off yucky things like onions and peppers.  :)

I finally went in to Beauty's for the first time a few weeks ago.  Except for a too-loud TV (which they immediately and cheerfully turned down when I asked), it was a great little pizza joint and it was a complete treat to taste the pizzas just moments out of the ovens.  The staff was really friendly and the tables were sturdy and clean with comfortable chairs.

They offer a bunch of gluten-free items, too, which aren't up online yet.  Medium pizzas, breaded chicken fingers, and pasta can all be gluten-free!  Very cool.  And don't forget their desserts -- Dancing Deer baked goods and slices of some fluffy, very nice cheesecake.

Never again. They used to be great. That was then...

I feel like I need to expand on this.

I ordered a sub. I received a soggy mess. I learned my lesson.

I forgot my lesson, and went back for another sub. Another soggy mess.

I have been going to Beauty's for 6 years, at least twice a month. Great pizza, and subs.
They only messed up my order one time, but they more than made up for it when I brought it back. The people who work there are good at what they do, and are friendly.

I've been enjoying Beauty's ever since I moved into my new place about 8 months ago. Introduced to me by one of my new roommates, Beauty's doesn't blow me away by any stretch of the imagination, but it's "good enough." It's a go to pizza parlor when you're at home on a weeknight watching a game and you really want a pie, but maybe not the sort of place I'm going to make a "destination" for pizza, even here in Boston.

That said, I've lately become hooked on the hamburger pizza, and recently ordered their Italian Sub, which while still a far cry from the sandwich at my hometown pizza shop, succeeded in at least giving me a taste of what I've missed for so long.

What I love best about Beauty's though is their loyalty program. Your first online order nets you a 5% discount, and on each succeeding order you receive 1% more (up to a total of 15% off your order). A truly fantastic idea that requires nothing more on your part than placing an order.

My go-to local pizza joint (for delivery), and I'm even willing to overlook the "substitution" on my latest order of a 2-Litre of Coke for the 2-Litre of Pepsi I'd ordered.

"We're out of Pepsi," said the driver.

I'm sorry, my friend. They are NOT the same.

Shocked by the negative reviews. I work across the street & eat here a few times a month & i think their pizza is GREAT! I especially LOVE their veggie lover's -- its loaded with kalamata olives (who wants nasty black, canned olives on their pizza?), broccoli, onions, 'shrooms, etc.  i've never been disappointed. The crust is crunchy, the slices are decent sized.... i'm a fan. The guys working here are always super nice too.

Only negative comment: don't do eat-in during the winter, for some reason it's always freezing in there, the heating system stinks...  but the pizza is fab.

So after being loyal customers from Beauty's for 2 years, we will no longer be getting pizza from them.

The sauce itself is quite tasty, but they use way too much of it. The pizza ends up being very floppy.

The service that used to be great is now awful. We ordered a pizza from them at 5:45 PM last night, and it arrived after 7PM, and it was cold. My husband refused the pizza from the driver. He called them up to complain, and whoever answered the phone was quite rude. They were supposed to send another pizza, but it never arrived. Please note that this pizza was already paid for, including tip.  NEVER AGAIN.

Who in their right mind, and after tasting this delectable pizza, could give this place 1 star, 2 stars, or even 3 stars?!!!
There are 5 STARS coming from me! ME, the not-so-into-pizza-but-will-eat-it-when-my-job-prov ides-it-for-lunch kind of pizza eater. I wouldn't normally seek out pizza, but like I mentioned before, my job provided free lunch from Beauty's. And this not-so-into-pizza girl is eating her 5th slice as we speak[type]!
This is the best pizza I have ever had! Mmmmm

Food is good with a wide selection to choose from.  Time from order to walking out is a bit slow, but otherwise the place is pretty good.

One benefit of this place is it is nearly always open so on those Holidays you are stuck at work you know that there is one place you can depend on to be open for your Lunch.  I definitely recommend

    2.5 stars, actually.

Really I don't understand the raves here for this pizza place. I've gotten their pizza twice (one pick-up, once delivery) and both times it has been totally underwhelming. Kind of chewy, nothing special.  If you're nearby, it's a fine option, but don't go out of your way.

This is really 2.5 stars and is based on their delivery.

Overall their pizza isn't bad (better than many others) but it doesn't travel well and the crust can't handle more than two toppings before collapsing to a flimsy mess.  We had mushrooms, green peppers and olives on one of ours and it just could not hold up.

I would really love to give Beauty's a better rating. Seriously. We ordered subs from them a few times in college, and they were decent. Not amazing, but good.

However, their delivery and service is what earned them one star. I live two blocks out of their recently-decreased delivery area. Two blocks. We thought it would be fine, but their website says to call to make sure they could accommodate us, being "outside" the delivery area, so we did.

We called to order (the BBQ Chicken and Mexican Beauty pizzas sound awesome) and had a coupon, because I signed up for their email list. We explained where we lived, and the guy who took our order told us that it would be no problem. Great, right? Well, he waits until the end of our order to inform us that we can't use the coupon code with an "out of area" delivery. We could either "have it delivered someplace else" and use the coupon, or have it delivered to our house, without the coupon.

It doesn't say that anywhere on the website, or in the email I received providing my coupon code. We were left feeling like the guy made it up on the spot. We canceled our order, and sadly won't be trying their pizza.

OK.  It not that the food is bad.  It's actually pretty decent.  It's just when I order delivery, I would like the food delivered to my door.  Not to the curb outside my door.  I know, stairs suck.  Why do you think I ordered delivery?  Because I don't want to go anywhere to eat.  I want to stay inside and not have to put any effort into getting it.  Hunter/gatherer? Screw that.
Beauty's, please.  Don't make me walk the stairs.

I'm gonna say this first part in a really small voice, in case a certain someone is reading, {there's a lot of bad pizza in Boston.} I grew up on, and still smile favorably upon, greasy House of Pizza style pie; overstated toppings, understated sauce, cheese of indeterminate origin and a hit or miss, white breadish crust...and grease, naturally.

A certain someone insisted that I try "real" pizza and brought me to Patsy's in Greenwich Village. The bar was officially raised. I didn't become a pizza snob per say, I still indulge in cheap pizza, but I also search out better pie now and so far this has only been a dine in endeavor.

Let's face it, people expect a little less out of their delivery pizza. It's a convenience thing. Not so at Beauty's...this is stellar four star pizza at House of prices with on time delivery. I love the Margherita Francesca. Everything about that pie works for me. I also enjoyed the Quattro Stagioni.

At first I thought, "I'm not ordering my pizza from a place called Beauty's!"  It just didn't jive with me nor roll off my tongue. The name actually made me think of CVS. They have a line called "essence of beauty."

I gave in, admittedly from severe hunger.

Anywhoo, their pizza is solid. The dough is crusty and crunchy, while having a solid "7" on the chewy scale (out of a possible 10)...  Dare I say their pizza is borderline gourmet-ish?

Prices are on point and  you can create an online account. There, you are able to place your order and they will send useful coupons via email.

The icing on the cake? Their drivers are mad cool.

Our buzzer is broken, so we requested they call us when outside. The driver, a cute little old man, called my cell to announce he was outside and we got the pizza no problem.

Long story short,  I somehow called him a few days later (by mistake) and asked him (instead of my friend) to go to the mall.  He actually said yes! A few drinks and a language barrier can lend to a huge mess. (No we didn't end up going to the galleria for a date ;p)

After a hectic day and just before a night on the town, I needed a  quick filler to fuel my drunk antics. I called up Beauty's, asked for two slices, grabbed'em and headed home completely ravenous, only to pop the top to see THIS: http://www.yelp.com/bi...

    SERIOUSLY.

They're also the nicest folks ever. While shooting a sweded version of Spaceballs, we needed a solid base for the Pizza the Hutt costume, but nothing we found worked. In the end, I decided to try my luck at Beauty's, not knowing if they'd tell me to piss off or quit wasting their time. Instead, they happily loaded a pizza box with their perfectly floured, uncooked dough and charged us pennies for it!

And the fact is, this kind of loves shows in everything they touch. Check out their lovely website and it's tough to pick a pie, since every description is through and through mouthwatering. Moreover, the online ordering setup is the most versatile I've encountered, letting you select toppings for each side of your pizza. The one topping you won't find on the menu is love, because it's already in everything they make.

In Annie's House.. we are always in a battle between Cinderella's or Chicago Pizza when it comes down to pizza delivery... or so we thought!

One few days ago in a little house in East Cambridge... we researched high and low for a pizza place that would deliver a fresh mozzarella/tomato pie, a plain mushroom pie, two gingerale's and something very artery clogging for the hungover patient... oh and maybe a greek salad too. FatS.O.S

Every place had this or that but never the whole combo we were looking for... so how great was it when we came across Beauty's ..a place we've both eyed many times. They had everything..the ordering process over phone was smooth and plus they came in lightning speed. The still warm and bubbled crust Margherita Francesca even came with a little container with basil. Awwwwww... how unpredictable. The 'Americana style' mushroom pizza was thin and perfect... packaged in an almost stylish (as far as pizza boxes go) cardboard with their personal stickers everywhere.
Everything was tasty. Yummy cheese good quality garlic bread.. not some mince garlic and slab of butter italian roll.

Trust me.. order delivery from here if you are in Cambridge.. since Pinnochio;s and best slice blah blah places would need a pickup. What a beauty.. except the name of the place. Beauty (for pizza, subs and salads??) and the font+color used for the sign. Sorry people but typo snob in me wouldn;t let those details pass right on by without mention.

What?  Free medium pizza if I register my email address?  Cool!

    Finally a real use for my 10 junk mail address!...  kikoTaco@yahoo,  pocho33@hotmail, xixi-butter@hotmail, mangosorbet@gmail, MaiChai@gmail...  j/k.   o(^O^)o - o(^o^)o

Some cool things about this pizza place:
    - delivery
    - order online and can specify when you come to pick up.
    - free promotional pizza- any of the gourmet or veggie choices you want.
    - whole wheat crust available- makes you feel slightly healthier.

    Some uncool things:
    - blah crust, too thin.  Thinner than Emma's.  I love thin crust, but Beauty's crust is just bland for me.
    - burnt and wilted veggies.  The arugula on the Arugula pizza is way too burnt.
    - mediocre sauce

    ............
People say 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder.'  But what is beauty and what is truth?  For me, Beauty's pizza is cheap, but the truth is it is average tasting (x3).

    Between Emma's and Beauty's, I'd say Emma's beat Beauty's in the dust.

This used to be my favorite pizza place, hands down. When I first moved to Cambridge in 2004, they were relatively new and they had a fabulous customer rewards program and a friendly newsletter that offered coupons and tips on their new pizza creations. Somewhere along the way, they must have gotten new owners, because the newsletter disappeared and their service got progressively worse. I moved from Central to Inman Square and then to Winter Hill, and even though we are less than 2 miles from their shop, they won't deliver to Winter Hill. Delivery was the best part -- there's really no parking over by their store on Broadway -- so we've had to let them go. Sometimes we'll pick up a pie if we're heading through Cambridge on the way home, and the pizza is still good (still worth the slightly higher price)... but it's not the same old Beauty's I used to love.

(The worst part? Even though they won't deliver to us, their delivery guy lives across the street from us in Somerville -- so we have to look at his delivery car with the "Beauty's" logo on top every day!)

But you can also add some other goodies:
their big american style delivery pizzas are actually pretty tasty
their cool online ordering gets nerds like Kabir all animated
they gave me a sticker with an Einstein quote about their pizzas. Strange.

This place is definitely a great step-up in the pizza delivery business model.

As soon as I hung up the phone with Beauty's, I had just enough time to pop open a bottle of wine before the doorbell rang and the pizza guy was here!

We ordered: Garlic Cheese Bread, pizza Margherita Francesca, and the Pepperoni Supreme. Garlic Bread: AWESOME. Margherita Francesca: So super cool that they gave me extra basil to dope myself up with (creepy that they knew I am a fresh basil whore). Pepperoni: Didn't try this one bc I was too into the basil, but Hubby loved it. Cost for this smorgasbord? Only $25 -- AND WE'RE EATING THE LEFTOVERS TONIGHT! FYI, that was for two mediums and one order of Garlic Cheese Bread. We probably didn't need to order two pizzas, but I couldn't come to an agreement with Mr. Vanilla about what to order.

Added bonus? You can order online and cut down on the mano-y-mano interaction, if you're slightly anti-social like me. Also, they give you discounts for repeat business. Really cute quotes are on all of their boxes, making for good reading material when you're completely ga-ga about cheesy garlic bread.

Fresh ingredients, good variety, fast delivery... what's not to like?

Okay, they can be a little light on the sauces, so I'd specify "extra" if you, like me, want your pizza to have some gooey goodness between the crust and cheese layers.

But an All American Bacon Cheeseburger pizza with extra mustard?  It is a thing of great beauty.  Get it?  Ha?  No, of course you do.  Never mind.

The Bombay Beauty wasn't quite as curry-ish as I would have hoped.  But any pizza with eggplant on it was excellent.

Pointing at me vehemently, a coworker insisted I immediately try Beauty's which I announced the worst name for a pizza place ever.  She went on to say that there's no seating--it's either pickup or delivery--and that I was guaranteed a crispy yummy pie.

Intrigued, I perused their website, easily the most involved site I've ever seen for a pizzeria, featuring an illustrated blog of their trip to Italy and the pizzas they ate--kind of like their spin on a Yelp List.  My coordinates were, sadly, beyond the sphere of their delivery map (Cambridge and parts of Somerville only, folks), so I rushed to my girlfriend's place to order.  We were delighted, over wine, to find an online ordering field, complete with a box for special instructions ("no doorbell--please call," in this case).

Given the choice between Classic, where you choose from a list of toppings, or Gourmet, with titles like "All American Bacon Cheeseburger" and "Bombay Beauty," we opted for Gourmet and ordered a large New Orleans Cajun ($12.99) which promised fresh green spinach, sweet red onions, fresh plum tomatoes, spicy Italian sausage, and Cajun dry rub seasoning and an order of Garlic Cheese Bread (3.49).

I won't go as far as to say, like those who expect to find cupcakes at Johnny Cupcakes, that I expected the deliverer to have been plucked from the nearest beauty pageant, but I did expect the "please call" instructions to be heeded.  The only reason I heard his knocking was the break between Monkees songs.  Gave him an even $20 and went right in for the garlic bread which was great.  Could've used another container of marinara sauce, though.

The pizza was a beauty.  All the toppings were there, the green of the spinach lovingly cradling the red tomatoes.  But flavor?  Where was the Cajun flavor?  Absent.  No flavors, in fact, jumped from the pizza.  Not even the onions.  It was just, you know, okay.  And doughy.  Not crispy at all.  Uninspiring.  Even given a night in the fridge, my breakfast piece failed to deliver any aged flavors.  So, I was satiated, but disappointed at the same time.

I filled my coworker in on my disapproval and she said I should have gone for the Classic Pizza and chose my toppings.  This, apparently, is crispy.  Given the ease and speed of delivery, it's definitely worth a second chance, but my ears had better hear a lovely crunch of crust.

we ordered 2 pizza's, Greek salad and ginger ale's, me thinks.
I was hungover (by accident) and needed cheese x a million.

The pizza's were great. I'm not really into small pizza's b/c I like the larger than life perfect Pythagorean triangle slice a large has to offer (size matter's) but it was good nonetheless. The basil was fresh. I really enjoyed their presentation. The sticker's, the packaged bread sticks, the silly quotes by Francis Bacon- that's the stuff that dreams are made of.

Beauty is in the eye of the Be(er)holder. Good job.

    Best Pizza Delivery in Town.

Thin crusted pizza margherita with basil and slices of fresh mozzarella is filling without being heavy. It's simple flavors and fresh ingredients make for the hands down best pizza on this side f the river.

    Pluses:
    - For under $20, you can get a large two-topping pizza, a two-liter bottle of soda, and include a 15% tip.
    - This particular Saturday night during peak pizza consumption time (8:30 during a Sox/Rays game), our pizza was delivered half an hour before the anticipated time.
    - Large size pizza easily fed two hungry people with leftovers.
    - Toppings were plentiful.
    - Word-of-mouth has informed me that their sandwiches are excellent, although I haven't tried them myself.

    Minuses:
    - Toppings are $1.50, and vegetable toppings (like olives and mushrooms, which should be cheap) cost the same as toppings like sausage, pineapple, etc.
    - The sauce is on the sweet side.
    - The crust is thin but is soft rather than crispy.

This is not gourmet food, but for what it is - simple, convenient pizza - it's well done.

I think I order from here about once a week, so they keep my payment & delivery info on file, which is convenient.  I love the puttanesca pizza with pepperoni on whole wheat crust.  My boyfriend ordered it when he was in the recording studio with his band and they were pissed that he orderd whole wheat pizza, but they ended up loving it.

They seem to be quicker than alot of other delivery services, too.

Beauty's makes a very good crust. It has a sweetness and depth of flavor that are rare. It plays a much larger role than a usually like a crust to but that's OK because it is so tasty.. The sauce and cheese have a very sharp, spicy aroma but turn out to be pretty mild, giving the flavor an elusive feel. Everything tastes very fresh and a little homemade. Although, I'm not sure if tasting 'homemade' is a good thing in a pizza.

    The slices are reasonably priced.

Update 19 Apr 07: Rating changed from 3 to 4 stars based on further visits leading to an increased appreciation for the sauce. However, I must warn folks away from the whole wheat crust. Although I now enjoy many whole wheat foods including some other pizza crusts Beauty's whole wheat crust perfectly matches my childhood impressions of whole wheat foods; it is heavy and bland. Also, it completely overpowers the sauce and cheese.

Some days it starts early. Real early. The bowl of granola in front of me doesn't seem that appealing anymore. My mind wanders to lunchtime. Standing at the coffee machine at work, I suddenly wipe the saliva from my mouth. The flavorful sauce. The perfectly baked crust. This is serious. I know what I need to do. I keep it to myself for a few hours, though.

It's noon and I decide to go public with my intentions. Billy's eating Tuna. He doesn't want to order. Mary's having soup again. Oh Mary. She loves her soup. But what about Jay? Yes! He's been thinking about Beauty's all morning too. It's going to be a good day, after all. I pull up Beauty's website and login.

Beauty's makes the ordering experience remarkably easy. Gone are the days of having to scream my order seven times into the phone. I place my order on the computer. Presto! We check off all the toppings we want and then we are done. Simple. And since this is certainly not my first time ordering, I get a discount. Yes, Beauty's rewards repeat customers.

I am addicted to many things. Beauty's pizza is one of those things.

The Roasted Chicken Fillet & Ham Club is the best sandwich I've had in this area of Cambridge.  The Chicken Parm gourmet pizza is great, too.  The quality is on the order of Emma's and cheaper, but keep in mind that the Beauty's crust is doughier.  Whole wheat crust is also an option for an add'l $1.50.

Important to note that there is no seating at Beauty's; it's exclusively take-out and delivery.  That being said, there are outdoor tables and chairs in a shaded area two blocks away by Tommy Doyle's.

Beauty's is my Cambridge go-to for pizza. The service is friendly and prompt, deliveries are the same, and I've never tasted anything like their 'Greek Beauty.' Plus, the prices are far more fair than the Upper Crust, which I've always considered too uppity anyway.

Enjoy!! Everything on the menu is good :)

Beauty's is fun, not only because their pizzas are inventive and delicious, but because their online ordering system is so far superior to any other online ordering in the area.  They make campusfood and foodler look like rookies.

The barbeque chicken pizza is GREAT, and the bruschetta is really really wonderful--even delivered!

The only crappy thing about this place is that sometimes, the drivers get lazy and call you from their car, to have you leave your nice comfortable apartment, and meet them on your porch.  That's lame.
