This place used to be OK with me before they expanded over into the closed down Rite-Aid further down the shopping center.  Since it's close, I used to go there if I needed something really quick.

There is a nice selection of things in here, but buyer beware!  The last time I went to purchase an Empress relaxer a couple months ago, I saw a retail sticker price of about $8.50.  Now granted I will say it was a bit suspicious because I usually pay about $10 on average (it's worth it, one of the best box relaxers there is IMO).  But when I went to check out, my total was over $12.  I politely reminded the lady cashier (presumably one of the owners or related) what the sticker said and they sent back one of their workers to check it.  The owners acted like they didn't want to honor that price and still charge me, but the worker reminded them that they should give me the price listed and just have someone change the sticker to the regular retail price.  So after haggling with me and their own worker over 5 mins. about this, they finally give me the relaxer for the price that they messed up on, but she begrudgingly reminds me that the next time I buy that perm, I will pay normal price.  Well, duh, I know how much it costs...I've been using the relaxer since 2004.  But to try to trick people with pricing shows that A) They don't do price/inventory checks in their store often and B) Customers may be getting OVERCHARGED for items that they didn't update.  GUESS WHO HASN'T BEEN BACK SINCE THEN...

I will say that again there is a good variety of things there, with some availability of higher end salon products (Keracare and Mizani being some of my favorites) and they do give you samples to try when you make a purchase.  However, Lee Beauty, which used to be up the street, did the same things and had better quality stuff and IMO a nicer, more helpful staff.  Plus, I hate coming into this parking lot as the people here drive crazy and the nights get quite sketchy.  There are better places to go.
