I've ALWAYS wanted to try eyelash extensions, but they're SO expensive and who knows how long they'll actually last! Caroline's prices are the most competitive I've come across (and trust me, I've researched!) and you can't beat the location. Caroline's work station is clean and beautiful with GREAT music and getting to spend 2 hours chatting with her is a treat! Caroline's philosophy on beauty is so refreshing and I feel empowered and recharged after a session in her Beauty Lab!
The lashes are surprisingly natural- I've seen SO many that look ridiculously fake, but not one person has even mentioned my lashes. I still look like me- only better. The rest of the Beauty Lab is great- a huge variety of products at a great price1 Previous Review: Show all »

PLEASE READ:
Beauty Lab is a TOTAL gem. Best beauty supply store I've been in around the west side. Employees are cheerful and helpful, and they carry almost every brand imaginable in that tiny genie bubble. It's an oasis of beauty.
HOWEVER:
I do have to complain about one thing. The salon. I fit in a last minute root touch up (my very expensive colorist didn't have time for me before a big interview) and... however it went down (if I miscommunicated or she did), it doesn't matter, The end result is roots that don't match my hair, hair that is drastically darker (and almost pink-red) than what I came in with and a stylist yelling at me that she was "very upset" and that she did "exactly as i told her and YOU said you understood. You're looking at it under the wrong lighting". I didn't respond, rather tried to just calm her down.
I have to say, I have never been yelled at by someone like that. Which leads me to believe it wasn't just my communication skills that were the problem. Especially since I brought in a picture of exactly what I wanted and she was on board. I don't care who was right... but I would have liked not to have been made to feel like a jerk for not thinking it looked great or even in the same league of what I came in with. Hey, it happens. I didn't say "What the HELL???". I just said I didn't think it was what we agreed upon.
Regardless of the color, my scalp is stained red in various places and I had to cancel a job interview to get this corrected. I hope you guys do due diligence here and make sure that at the very least, the yelling never happens again. She did her job and I even tipped her. But that is not an experience I intend on having again. -

OK, I'm a boy who gets waxed. We'll just get that disturbing concept out of the way immediately. Sorry, this review is useless without that tidbit.
I have very sensitive skin, so this sort of grooming can't be done by just anyone. I've been utilizing Caroline for quite some time, and when I found she had moved her practice to Beauty Lab's salon, I followed like a good little boy.
She is great at what she does, simple as that. Plus, she's super fun to talk to! Amazing sense of humor. AND she speaks french.
The shop is well stocked too. I have nothing left to say. -

I've been coming to Beauty Lab for a few years now and I have absolutely no complaints. The place is very well stocked and the employees are always nice and attentive. I'm always quick to recommend this place.
I recently paid their esthetician Caroline a visit for the total works. I got my brows reshaped. They look amazing! Couldn't be happier with them. I also got a brazilian. I was very pleased to find out she uses a hard wax which can be such a challenge to find. The atmosphere was relaxed and professional. I'll definitely be seeing her for my next facial! -

I love coming to Beauty Lab. They have all the best hair products & nail polish colors. I read in other reviews that the girls who work there aren't helpful or nice but I have the extremely opposite treatment. They always ask me if I need any help and know a lot about all the products. They also have great sales & good prices. Beauty Lab is my first stop beauty supply store :)

This is an absolute GEM of a beauty supply, comfortably located less then a mile away from my apt. in Culver City...the store is always well stocked, has a huge range of every brand you could ever want, and they're always getting the newest, most awesome products, (can you say Moroccan Oil Mask, anyone?)...also, regarding the other reviewers comments on the staff: I know sometimes it can be intimidating to walk in here, not knowing quite what you're looking for, & think you're being judged. But trust me, you're not! The girls that work here are Super Knowledgeable if you just ask them for help! They're just not your typical fake, don't-know-shit about the product, working on commission kind of salespeople, so they don't accost you when you walk in the door, which some people might misconstrue as rudeness, I however, covet. I know exactly what I'm looking for, or just want to be left alone to peruse the aisles for that magic unicorn product, & they let me do exactly that. Yes they are often in conversation with each other, but will gladly give you their full attention if you ask for it! Don't be scurred, lol, they don't bite, they're just not fake, & btw, don't you text at your job every chance you get too?!
Bottom line, this place is LEGIT, has everything you need & more! I've been going here for about 4 yr.s now, as my favorite stylist in all the world works here as well, Teresa. (she works in the salon part, which is called Salon de Lux...she's Awesome too, & also not a super outgoing, fake kind of personality.
Basically, these girls might not hold your hand and accost you with that Dept. store make up counter kind of barbarianism, but I guess that's one of the things I love most about this place! -

When you want less tug on your rug, you need to come to Margy. It doesn't matter where said rug is located, she'll deal with it and she'll be gentle.
Margy uses the highest quality waxes on your skin so it'll run you about $40 for the full deal--but you wouldn't buy your lady panties from the Kwik-E-Mart, would you? And ladies (or guys), you wouldn't stock your man's fridge with Natty Lite. Well, Margy would never put wax made out of horse meats on your meats. Trust me, you *will* feel the difference.
Whether you're chatting and getting sage advice, or lying back, relaxing on the table with some yoga tunes--you'll really enjoy this. Well, if that's what you're into--otherwise during a Brazilian or Playboy wax you may experience three or four ouchy pulls and then it's all relaxing from there.
Be sure to bring cash to tip Margy, she gets the most $$ that way, and she deserves it, as she's very thorough and makes sure you're taken care of.
After your wax be sure to browse Beauty Lab's amazing selection of supplies. They have a plethora of OPI, Essie, and Zoya nail polishes--this is a professional grade beauty supply store. They carry all your workaday fancy shampoos and some exotics as well. Anything and everything you need to hide the not-so-pretty and enhance the lovely.Listed in: Nails done, hair done,…

Perhaps you need that great new Ultra Smoothing Volumizing Conditioner for Fine Color Treated Hair?
Or that Do It Yourself Dye Kit in Sun Dried Tomato Red?
Or 283639043 nail polish colors?
Or simply just a GALLON of fancy shampoo?
Get it all here, sans outrageous salon prices. In fact, if you get inspired while shopping just walk to the back of the store and ta-da! It's a salon, too. Perfect for that last-minute cut, dye, eyebrow shaping, waxing, whatever.
In fact, if I had one request, it would be that they install red flashing lazers that can detect my bank account balance and shoot me down cold if I pass the doors during a bad time. The urge to buy is that bad.
Oh well, I might be poor, but at least my hair is lookin' flyyyyy.Listed in: Salons, Spas, and Such

I feel like there is a very good chance that I'll come away with products that will ensure that I look beautiful upon leaving the beauty lab. In actuality, I'm matter-of-fact about that.
If I want my toes and nails to look pretty and well polished, I can buy one of the many colors of O.P.I. nail polish.
If I want my hair to be bouncifully curlicious, I can buy a host of salon-grade products that work magic into my little tresses, and trust me, they do! I'm a huge fan of the Kerastase Nutritive Bain Elasto-Curl Products, Rene Furturer Deep Conditioner, and Redken's Leave-In Curl Creme. I'm curious to try several other curl wonder creams, but for now, I'll stick with the tried and true.
If I want to look stylishy chic, by pulling my hair back at the gym to work out, I can pick up of a rainbow of colored, $1.00 bandanas to match any outfit I might wear, while up in the gym just workin' on my fitness.
I basically pick up the above items from the Beauty Lab myself, but I always find myself just sauntering down the aisles, casually looking at anything and everything, and taking mental notes for next time. The Beauty Lab has all sorts of goodies that would make any girl giddy, and I know this because it's hard to make me giddy, and it has that exact affect on me every time. -

First of all, I'm super picky about who i go to for waxing, my brows grow in un-even and its easy to f them up. So, I'm basically a brow-shaping snob. Anyway, i saw Beauty Lab had a new Lady working there- Caroline, and my brows were in an emergency hairy state, So i decided to give her a try. She really took her time shaping the brows and looking at my face and talking to me about what I want. My brows look amazing, and I highly HIGHLY reccomend her. Plus beauty lab has easy parking, and $20 for such great brows is a really good deal. Yay Caroline!

Only come here for TWO THINGS:
1) the BEST BEST BEST eyebrow threader (Shila...she's the eyebrow goddess)
2) cheap non-grocery store brand hair products.
It's right next to a Ballys and my roommate told me that she saw Britney Spears coming out from the gym once. I've never tried their other services as they have a full service salon, but it always is busy so I'm assuming that their stylists are pretty good. -

I found a bigger supply of the hair product I use. If I am going to need a full secure look in my hair for the night or day, "SPIKER" is it! Thank you Beauty Lab!

Caroline Sirand always does an amazing job on my lashes. They look and feel so natural I forget I didn't grow them myself. Last week I had her tint my brows for the first time. Now all I have to do is put on a little concealer and lip gloss and head out the door.
The store has EVERYTHING all in one place--all of the top brands I know and use. It's my new go-to spot for beauty... -

Love this place! Been coming here for awhile, and it is a beauty junkies dream come true. They have it all! They always have my moroccanoil in stock, which i cant live without, not to mention all the latest collections in OPI and essie. Among a million other amazing products. Despite what other reviews have said, the girls that work here are awesome! Kind, patient and very knowledgeable. Beauty Lab, you have a customer for life!

This has to be the best beauty supply in la county! It's kept clean and it's huge! They carry every product I'm looking for and the sales girls are super nice and knowledgable. I really appreciated that they seemed to really care about my skin problems and genuinely wanted to help. It's hard to find good help these days, so look no further, this place rocks!

I just got my first brazilian wax from Margey. She is amazing. I was so nervous, but it really didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. She is reasonably priced and made me feel at ease the whole time.
I am definitely going to go back again and again. -

Beauty lab probably has the worst customer service of any beauty supply store that I have been to. The girls that work in the store part (versus the salon) could seriously care less about the customers and are more concerned about texting on their phones or talking to each other about what they have going on for the weekend. I only go to beauty lab if I am in a hurry and know exactly what I want. If you have questions or need advice, forget about asking the girls that work there. They don't know much about the products and could care less about the customers.

rude rude rude, do not even greet you when you come in they stare, and go back to talking amongst themselves. they seem to have more time looking at the nail polish section more than anything. could have dropped some $$$ here if i knew what i was looking for but instead went to lisa's on pico. much better service. and how can they even have a hair salon behind everytime i pass by when i valet my car to go to the gym there is always the "hairstylist" doing her own hair. maybe if they had more personable employees they would not have this problem.

I LOVE Margy. she is a miracle worker. I came here for my first brazilian and I was scared to death, but I came out thinking...wow that wasn't so bad! the wax she uses is not at all like the ones at the nail salons. it's this special wax that dries on you and then is peeled off. no waxing strips needed so it's less messy and definitely less painful. I highly recommend her!

I love this store- it's walking distance from my house and carries all the beauty supply stuff I need- OPI nail polish, Morrocan Oil and Redken Shampoo! No more driving across town to find that obscure product. Everything is there at Beauty Lab. It also has unique items that make great gifts for friends if you're in a pinch.

Review from L C.
Beverly Hills, CA
So far, I've only been here once but Margy was great! Not only was the price very reasonable ($40 for brazilian) but the whole thing was finished in like 10 minutes! She was quick, efficient, and the procedure was relatively painless. I usually go to this other wonderful esthetician but it's a little more inconvenient now that she is located in the Valley (Yumi Skincare...Yumi is super-awesome for all skincare needs but I digress). Well I had some free time and decided to come to Margy. All the reviews were right.
The Beauty Lab seems to be mainly a beauty emporium with a salon in the back. There is free parking available (it's located in a large strip mall). They do take cards. -

I just wanted to echo the props on Margie. She really is great. She uses really good wax and it's as painless as possible. She also makes you feel really comfortable- and let's face it- you're laying on a table half naked- you need to feel comfortable. Her prices are also totally reasonable. She really is the best!

Margy, Margy, Margy! I have been a customer for over 4 years thanks in part to Ms. Margy. Not only does she make the waxing process a bit less painful due to the great conversation but I always look forward to seeing her and hearing about the latest new techniques Margy is looking to implement. I would have given the place 5 stars but their prices for beauty supplies are a bit higher than other places. Margy's prices are great though.

Yesterday was my visit to Beauty Lab . Its the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Margy is one of the best waxers I have come across. She is quick , friendly and the wax she is uses is great. She makes you feel really comfortable and minimizes the painful experience as much as possible.
She also does facials. Something i am looking forward to for next time.
The shop part of beauty lab was quite well stocked. Had lots of products I have never encountered in stores. Prices seemed ok but since the products were unfamiliar I can't be too sure. -

Ok Ok. I'll be the first to post on these guys. I actually like coming here. I think Marge (sp?) is a great esthetician. Really gentle on facials and waxing skills are superb. The store is great as you can find lots of the higher end products you don't normally find at most supply stores. Over all- I do tend to go out of my way for this place. Or at least when I'm in the area I definitely stop in to pick up some product.
