I often joke that Juliana is my longest running relationship. I had the good fortune to meet her 5 years ago because she worked near my apartment. I entered at random, but left a devotee for life.
2 moves and a few boyfriends later, I'm still with Juliana and travel from the West Loop to see her. Now that she is running her own salon with her fiance Ashtor (who provides men's styling), her cuts and color are better than ever and her prices are amazing!! I saved about $75 for the same services I received when she worked at her previous salon.
The best part about her work is that she truly LISTENS to what you want in your style, but is also realistic about what works best with your hair. We've been through many styles and colors together and every one has been fabulous! I can also walk in with no clue what I want, say "I'm bored with this... do what you think will be fun," and be stunned at my awesome new 'do.
An added bonus is Juliana's effervescent personality and Brazilian energy. She is a truly wonderful spirit and is a joy to talk with. Her drop-dead gorgeousness doesn't hurt either :)
Watch out for this up-and-coming stylist. I see a write-up in Elle or Allure in her near future.
Oh, Juliana, how do I love thee? After stylist hopping for nearly a year after moving here, I found someone who listens to what I want, I don't go totally broke, and tells me the truth about what will work with my hair. She trims my bangs for free between cuts, gives me a discount whenever I refer someone (which is all the time, p.s.). The $$ thing is always annoying to me, because it's so subjective, so I'm telling you what I actually pay. I walk out of there for under $60 including tip. Oh, and I'm in and out of there in under an hour...she's incredible!
Julianna is such a welcoming sweetheart! Beauty Club's hours are great too for people who work (I think her last appt is 8 pm!). Her rates are really reasonable, especially for the quality of the work done (I had highlights). She is a total spitfire and a laugh to gossip & talk with as well.
A friend of my coworker's recommended Juliana, and I am in LOVE. I have really thick and curly hair and I wanted the katie holmes haircut, and she did it. NO one has ever cut my hair short as well as her, and I'm so happy to have found her. I'm passing out her business cards to everyone I know that has complimented my haircut. Also, she cuts hair REALLY quickly. I was in and out of there in an hour, and that included a wash, cut, and blow drying my hair straight. She's known for her speediness but that's because she's a pro. A+!
I moved to this area last year and have had one bad hair salon experience after another. Juliana really is truly amazing with hair. I am very picky and she did a perfect job from the very first time. Very reasonable prices for this quality. My husband gets his cuts at carissma on clark and Juliana's husband did a far far better job at a better price point. Its time for his next cut and his hair still looks amazing. I actually joined this site just to recommend her.
