Simply put, Joni is awesome! I have gone to Joni to get my eyebrows threaded for a couple years now, and am always thrilled with the results. Even when I over-pluck and over-trim my brows betweeen threadings, she always manages to get them back into perfect shape.
Best of all, it is entirely painless! Every other person who has ever threaded my eyebrows makes me pull my own eyelid shut, and then just saws away making for an extremely painful few minutes. With Joni, I am lying down relaxing to her tranquill music and enjoying the coversation when next thing I know, she's done!
Last night, I went to Joni to get my first facial ever- and let me just say, it was ahhhmazing! I would reccomend it 100%
Go to Joni, you will NOT be disappointed! -

Joni was such a sweetheart. Her office was a tad bit hard to find since she doesn't have her own location, just more so an office space in an office building. The building is this white building right behind the restaurant at the corner.
I discovered her through her yelp deal which is unbeatable! $29 for eyebrows and a Brazilian!? Now I did opt to get my brows threaded since I normally get them wax and they turned out just fine. Wax and threading both look the same to me but I usually prefer waxing just because it's faster. Now for my wax. Joni uses the highest quality of wax instead of the cheapo honey wax (dark yellow typical salon wax). The 2 different waxes she used did not irritate nor did they feel super hot which made the experience an even more comfortable one.
And yes she did use a different dipper each time she went in for more wax. I've seen waxing places that didn't follow the "no double dips" rule.. DISGUSTING!
I do recommend going to Joni for your waxes! -

Ahh Joni is awesome!
I guess I'd gotten used to painful waxing, but this girl is infinitely better than any other place I've tried and I experienced a lot less "owwww!" than my usual place.
First up were my brows, which no one can see anyways because I'm blonde but it was nice to see she created a good shape. I'd never tried threading before, and it was a pretty sweet alternative to waxing.
Next up were the girly bits. She used a different type of wax than I'm used to, but it was a lot less intense than the normal strips. Granted, any time you gotta wax down there it's no fun, but Joni made it as painless as possible.
Joni herself is wonderful, and the Yelp deal is freaking awesome. The location is a little odd, but once inside you're good to go. -

I went to Beauty By Joni this past weekend to get my eyebrows threaded. I usually just get my eyebrows waxed a few times and then maintain it by plucking it myself but I wanted to change my eyebrow shape and so I've just let my brows grow bushy for about a month. I wanted to get it threaded and not waxed because I feel like waxing isn't as precise and depending on the person you go, they might take off TOO MUCH.
Beauty By Joni is a bit hard to find, I got confused a bit because it's not a store or anything. It's more of like an office within a building - which at first confused me because the place looked like residential apartments. Anyway, her office is up the stairs to the right. There isn't a waiting room or anything so you would just have to stand outside the door until your appointment time.
Her office is really dainty and cute. It's small but it feels really personal. Plus, Joni is super sweet! She converses with you while she is doing the service whichever it may be so don't feel awkward or anything! The stories she tells are great :)
Joni was super helpful in listening to what I was trying to achieve. I told her I was trying to make my brows fuller so she took a conservative approach, showed me, and then I could decide if I wanted her to thread some more hairs. I ended up loving how my brows came out!
It was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded and my first time going to Beauty By Joni. I highly recommend and would go to her again! It's $15 to get your brows threaded and I tipped her $5 for the great service -

The best hands down. Joni is super cute, and just a doll.
I go every few weeks to get my eyebrows threaded (I used to get them waxed religiously for years) but decided to try threaded, because it looked more natural.
Joni knows how to accentuates my natural shape, and then (because I love it so) how to exaggerates it JUST enough.
The parking lot kinda sucks, it's not the easiest to get into or get out of, especially around 4-5pm when people leave work. -

Beauty by Joni's is the greatest! Joni is super professional and always makes sure that I'm comfortable during any procedure! The music she plays is always relaxing. Her table is comfy and it's always a comfortable temperature in there.
I go to her for Brazilian and Eyebrow waxing. She always does a great job and makes it as painless as possible. She works very quickly, I never notice how long I'm in there.
I recently started getting eyelash extensions done by her. They look fantastic! She mixes blue in with the black lashes, which look great. They look very natural.
I love how her shop is decorated! The beach scene is very cute! I like how she has all of her certifications on the wall. Overall, it's a very nice shop! I recommend her to everyone!!!
One thing to note about Joni's - She doesn't accept credit/debit cards. She accepts cash and checks. I feel that she is reasonably priced. -

I went to joni the other day for the yelp deal. for $29.00 I got my eyebrows threading and a bikini wax. Joni is a really sweet and nice lady, her office is a little interesting its a simple room but cute and comforting w/soothing music. she threaded my eyebrows which came out great, we chatted alot she told me some funny stories which made me feel comfortable. but I have to say though my wax job was alright, I have def. had better wax jobs. she left alot of random hairs where when i get mine done at natura my lady doesnt leave a single hair and I was left a little bruised on the side of my bikini. I think for the yelp price its a great deal though

Joni is great! I've been going to her for my brazilian waxing for a few years. She's fast, and makes it as comfortable as possible. Her office is a little different from your average beauty place, but it's just her and she's been at the same place for years so I'm sure that helps keep cost down for her clients. It's a single room, but it's bright and welcoming. She's always upbeat and inviting, easy to talk to and fast.
As for getting a brazilian wax, I think she's the best in terms of cost and comfort. -

I've been coming to Joni for YEARS to get all my waxing done. I found her before she was on her own, she did my brows once, and they were so perfect I followed her when she opened her own salon. She is so sweet and super good at what she does. Then when I started using retinol, we decided to try threading so I didn't have any skin issues when waxing my brows, and she is amazing at that too! That takes some serious skill. She always fits me into her schedule as soon as possible, I love that since I am a totally last minute person. She is always continuing her education on the latest techniques out there too, I love that she just doesn't rest on what she already knows and does well. Love her!!

I love going to Beauty By Joni.....not something someone would normally say when talking about getting waxed!
Joni is so friendly that we get to chatting and the next thing I know...it's over! She has that knack of getting your mind off of what you're getting done while still remaining completely professional. I feel like I'm going to catch up with an old friend with the benefits of being pampered.
Don't get me wrong, getting waxed is not an "ahhh, I'm relaxed" moment but Joni is fast and very good at what she does. Compared to other places I tried (before coming to Joni), she manages to make it relatively less painful and that's what keeps me coming back.
Definitely recommend Beauty By Joni. You won't be disappointed. -

Joni really made me feel super comfortable and relaxed for the whole thing. It barely hurt and I honestly felt like it didn't even take that long.

I Love Joni! I looked up a few waxing places once I moved down here, and Joni's looked the most promising. She has a nice website too. I have seen her many times, and she helped pamper me with facials, waxing and even eye lash extensions before my wedding back in August! She is so down to earth, her suite smells and looks so nice. I always fall asleep while she is doing my facial. Wonderful service.

We love her! My really close friend and i decided to get some birthday gifts for ourselfs.. She got lash extensions and i got my brows threaded.. Joni did such a great job on both our faces.. I definitely will be returning to her. And when i do reconsider getting lashes i know who to turn to.

I found Joni because she is one of the few people I could find that do threading. I sought out threading because waxing sometimes makes me breakout. Her office/salon/spa is in a building in Mission Valley. It is very pleasantly decorated and Joni is very sweet. She is very professional and did a great job removing my unwanted hair. I understand she also does waxing, facials, and a variety of other types of skincare. She is very reasonably priced and I usually can get an appointment same day. She works Tue, Thurs, Fri, and Sat (I think?) and takes cash and check. I highly recommend her.

I LOVE Joni!!! I have been going to Beauty by Joni since the day she opened the doors. Super friendly, extremely professional and a great value. I have super bushy brows and like keeping them that way. All the other places I have been to would not listen to me and I always ended up walking out with thin brown. Not with Joni! Every time she does a fantastic job keeping them nice and full!! Don't know what I would do without her!! I have recommend her to all my girlfriends!!

I actually thought Joni was fine- fast & professional. But the office had sort of a run-down feel to it- like a 1970s doctor's office. I'll probably go somewhere else next time just because I would like to have a little nicer atmosphere.
