I went here with one of my friends who wanted to get derma-peeling. The staff was extremely friendly.

The skin specialist gave me a free skin diagnosis and told me to come for a facial ,which I never did because I normally get my weekly facial while boiling pasta.

Oh , this place is also great for eye lash extensions. I forgot the ladys' name but she did a great job on one of my friends.

I ventured to this spa in desperate need to fix my gorilla legs for a last minute get together requiring a short cocktail dress.

I usually go to another spa (see my other reviews) and was told about this place from a coworker. I have to say, I was not impressed. I'm a big spa junkie and I will try any place once. From the outside, this place seems really nice. However, she staff was very curt and borderline rude, and once in the treatment room, it was like I stepped into the twilight zone!

The front of the treatment room had the nice cushy bed, and I was told that was for facials and massages. The lights were dim and you could smell the relaxing lavender. I was about to plop on when the girl doing my wax asked me to undress and then stepped into the back part of the room behind a wall. I was like, "wtf?!" She said to come to the back of the room when I was ready. When I went around the wall, I was greeted by a bed that reminded me of an exam bed in the doctors office. The walls were all white and the overhead light was bright and harsh. In the corner was the wax cart and sticks, and she asked me to hop up. All I could think was: "Good Lord, what mess have I gotten in to? Thank God all I'm doing are my legs!"

The waxing was quick and I was worried that she would not get a clean wax seeing as the bed was up against the back wall. I'll give them 3-stars instead of two because I came out with a pretty clean wax and she even went back to tweeze some of the stragglers.

This spa was way cheaper than where I normally go, and all I have to say is: You get what you pay for.

This review has been edited (read: rewritten) because I read it and realized I was just rambling and being weird and NOT being helpful.

Beautique is:
Enormous.  They seem to do everything except wash your windows.
A little expensive, but worth the money.
Somewhere people with any type of hair can go.... including people with very curly hair and a definite idea of what they want.

Beautique is not:
The perfect place to get your hair done.  The first time I went it ended up a tiny bit crooked, and the last time I went I got the perfect haircut from a surly and rather unfriendly stylist.
A social experience.  I have never seen people talking with anyone but their own stylist, and even that seems rather infrequent.  The stylists probably talk to each other more than their clients.

I was very annoyed last time I went by the continuous efforts to "tone down" my color (red) or straighten my "unnaturally unruly" hair (??).  When I repeatedly refused, she called another stylist over to discuss my crazy hair and commiserate over my ignorance for not wanting to change it.  Nevertheless, this same stylist gave me the best haircut I've ever gotten in the States, so I'll be going back to her and likely suffering through the same thing.

My mom and I went here for a nice post-valentine's day massage at the Town & Country location since our usual place closed down. I am not impressed in the least.

First of all, the decor is cheap. Everything, including the bed linens are straight from IKEA. Most spas have more class than to decorate with readily recognizable less-than-luxury materials and furniture. Also, my mom asked for a "couple's massage" when she set the appointment, but the receptionist booked two single massages, so we were stuck in separate rooms. This mistake didn't peeve me too much, I was just looking forward to a nice, stress relieving afternoon.

My masseuse asked me, before I even took off my robe, the pressure I liked best. I answered "medium," but of course this is a relative term. She started massaging me very hard, and didn't ask if the pressure was okay, so I had to tell her over and over again throughout the whole massage to lighten up because she would forget 5 minutes later and I would be wincing in pain.

So today I am sitting here with big bruises on my butt, and between my shoulders because my masseuse didn't listen to me. So basically my mom paid for me to get beat up.

She said that her massage with Helen, however was fabulous. So I guess if you must visit this place, she's the one to request.

I had a brazilian wax here about  month ago.  The service is really fast even without an appointment.  The first time I got waxed here I hated it.  Its the first time I ever bled after waxing.  However, since its close and convenient I reluctantly ventured to beautique again.  My second experience was much better.  She did an excellent job. I would NOT recommend buying any of their overpriced products,  I spent $50 bucks on a  product that did not work at all.

The power of word of mouth is truly Amazing!! My friend Rod used to be roomies with Jennifer so he told me I should go check her out for waxing. I did so and was totally amazed at how efficient she is. She gets you in and out of there with a quickness! Plus she is not afraid to go anywhere... and I mean anywhere to get any and all hair removed. Anyhoo I told Farrah about my experience with Miss Jen and it has exploded. i should have known once it hit yelp it would be all over. ;) Jennifer speaks for herself though, I don't know anyone who has gone to see her and didn't just love her.

I have to admit though... I haven't seen Jennifer in a long time because I started getting Laser. Which is the bomb by the way! And when I go to get my legs waxed I just use Alyse because she already does my facials and it seems easier to just stay in one room.

Honestly though, I would never use this place to get my hair or nails done... just my personal opinion.

This place does it all. Hair cuts, color, facials, nails, massages, waxing. There's no need to hop around the city to get pampered anymore. However, I must say that I go here for one thing: bikini wax.

Jennifer (goes by Jennifer 2) is the Who's Who in Houston's bikini-wax world. She even has loyal clients that drive from outside cities just to have her smear their loins with wax. The reason she's the best is simply because she's fast. What normally used to take 30 to 45 minutes at my former place now takes about 5 with Jennifer 2. No joke. Front, back, side to side (woman and men), she'll get you in and out in enough time to grab lunch and head back to the office.

Cost for a Brazilian: $55

Though the service was timely I felt like I was in a chain salon and that I was being sold to at various points.

I've had several facials in the past and felt that the quality was sub par at best.

With the number of salons and spas here in Houston I don't see myself going back to Bequtique.

My spousal unit (and mother-in-law when she was living) frequents this place and gave me a giftcard for spa services last Christmas. Finally got around to using it for my first-ever man pedi and I was the only guy in the joint. Not a problem, except I did notice that the ladies present were not so, how shall I say, nice to the women working there. Maybe that's what passes for spa etiquette, I dunno. And to the lady who was eating a sub during her pedi I wanted to say "gross, hope none of it falls into the bubbling pedi whirlpool cauldron thingy because that would be uber disgusting."

Without any basis for comparison I'd have to say the pedi was a good one. My feet (surprisingly not gross, I work on 'em some) were worked on tirelessly for 50 minutes and felt great afterward. I've asked around about prices and people who go to strip mall nail salons have been shocked at the $45 pedi charge at Beautique. Me, I don't care, I got a gift card with a big remaining balance.

I've parked in this lot after hours, but I'm not one to pay for spa services so I'd never been inside.  A friend gave me a gift certificate for a massage to relax during pre-wedding planning so I redeemed it 2 days before the wedding.

When you enter, the first floor consists of a retail area where they sell styling products and accessories.  A hair salon is in the back.  The spa services are offered upstairs so the space is really big and overlooks Amherst.  I was directed to a women's locker room where I selected a locker and changed into a robe and flip flops.  Classical music played overhead as I waited in the lounge for my turn.

The massage therapist was great after she got my name right and gave me a one-hour massage ($70 value), but they offer other types of massages, too, like aromatherapy, hot stones, and reflexology (more than $70).  She made a lil small talk and let me relax.  I think I almost fell asleep in the dimly-lit room with the muzak gently playing.  She started with me lying face-up, massaging my head, then my upper extremities, then my lower extremities.  After that, she had me turn like a rotisserie chicken so she could work on my back, legs, and my buttocks.  Yeah, that was a little weird, I hope it's normal.

Then, I had to wake up and get back to the real world.  My fiance called to inform me his boss wanted to know whether they could bring their college-aged son, who just happened to be coming home this weekend, to our wedding.  The kid eats like 8000 calories a day and is a frequent mooch.  I said no after feeling quite agitated at the audacity of some people.  I should have scheduled the massage at the end of the day.

You leave tips in envelopes at a kiosk by the entrance/exit.  The staff was very nice and friendly to me as I arrived and when I left, even greeting me by name after my massage.

I'm not a high matienance woman. I always wanted to be but I was always too broke to be spending a lot of money on myself. My idea of a haircut was going to Supercuts (which I never really had a problem with). Just got the dead end trim.. I did my own coloring. And it was alright.
But I wanted a change.
Beautique fits right in with the Rice Village vibe. It's funky yet upscale. It's nice and spacious. It's bright and young.
So Brittney (who also is my sister-in-law) gave me a fantastic cut and beautiful color. It took a lot for me to get out of my brassy blonde rut. But I was so glad I did.
I plan on trying out some of their other services (facials, waxing, nails, massages....) but I am going to save that stuff for my husband to buy for me. (Valentines Day Spa Gift Package..hint, hint)  Fancy spas are seriously expensive but I love getting pampered (who doesn't?).
So props to Brittney for making me care about my hair. Beautique is my new escape from it all and I'll never step foot in a Supercuts again.

I've been to other places to get bikini waxes and it usually takes around 45 minutes. Yeaaaa...I don't like being in that awkward position for so long. Bikini waxes are painful to me so I want them done and over with quick and get on with my life...until my next visit. My friend referred me to this place and told me to ask for Jennifer. She said she was great so I took her word for it. Let me tell you, this girl doesn't mess around. You are in and out in about 10 minutes. I love it. Now she's not for the weakhearted cuz she's not gonna baby you. But if you're looking for a place that's quick and does a good job at the same time then this is the place to go. Remember, ask for Jennifer.

I went to Beautique after reading wonderful reviews about the waxing there so made an appt for eyebrows and while I was there I thought I'd get my hair done as well, my first one since moving to Houston.
I had eyebrows with Jennifer and she took literally less than a minute. My brows weren't a huge mess to begin with but she did a fine, quick job. I needed blonde highlights and a cut (my hair was long and I wanted to cut it all off) and had an appt with Lindsey. Color is OK, she just used one shade of blonde. As for the cut when I got home I realized it was not very well done and am thinking of going to any cheap place asap like supercuts or something just to get the cut fixed. I wanted a subtle asymmetric bob, no layers - just straight across (not too drastic like poshe spice) and the more I look at it, the more I see how uneven the ends are; there are some inner pieces which are longer than the outer ones. The cut itself was 70 and the color was 100, Im not sure it was worth it. I will say that they are good about scheduling and trying to fit you in so you don't miss you next appointments. Might go back for waxing, not for hair.

I am a fan. Yes, I am.  On Yelpers' advice, I came here to get waxed, and boy am I going back! Silvia is awesome (gave her a good tip, too, hope she remembers me next time). She asks what you want to do, etc, and yes she is fast and yet still careful and very encouraging, if that makes sense. Location is also very convenient, though a bit farther than my usual place to go. But for the quality of service...yeah, I may be switching over to Beautique from now on. Definitely deserves a return trip.

Beautique is a beehive of beauty-related activity in the Village--want a cut and color?  You can have it done here.  Need a mani/pedi?  Beautique can handle that.  Have to get glammed up with makeup?  This is your stop.  It's like a megastore of beauty.  And I'm not kidding when I say this place is huge--yowza!  When I walked in for my waxing, I obviously picked the wrong door, because I went from receptionist station to receptionist station trying to find my appointment.  I found my way upstairs, and after being redirected yet AGAIN, I finally checked in for my session with Jennifer.  But that's where the gripes end and the glowing praise begins.  You Yelpers really were right--Jennifer is AMAZING.  I walked in at 3:48, and by the time I was hairless, paid up and in my car, it was 4:00 on the dot.  I thought for sure you guys were exaggerating at how amazing she is, but she's the real deal.  I'll be back for sure.  Grip it and rip it!

I have  had three disappointing haircuts at Beautique, and won't be going back.  For the first one, the stylist was sick so I thought, I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and go back, because a friend of mine recommended her.  But, the second haircut was so bad, I was embarrassed by it, and I complained to the manager.  All he did was give me an appointment with someone else the following time, he wasn't too interested in the problem.  It is a "day spa factory" as far as I can tell.  I told the first/second stylist (we'll call her "number one" )  I like my hair curly, and she even tried to get a flat iron out for it.  She didn't listen at all.  She spent most of the time on my second visit complaining about how she had another customer but really just wanted to go home.  The third cut was done by a person who also talked about how much she was looking forward to getting off duty, but not as extensively as the first/second stylist.  However, she (we'll call her "number two") left me sitting by the hair washing station for twenty minutes with lots of hair dye waiting to be washed out.  I finally had to holler "have I been forgotten?" to get someone to wash my hair!  Needless to say, it came out a bit brassy.  I'm willing to try the waxing there because of the great reviews, but, for hair cut and color, this is a "Mc Spa".

I work full time and maintain a busy schedule, and this is the place for me.  I go here for hair styling and facials.  The owner has run this place for years, and he takes great care to make everyone feel welcome and treat his clients with respect.  The thing I value most about this place is that things run on time--no waiting around for half an hour because your hair stylist is running behind.  As a matter of fact, my first hair stylist just moved to another salon on Westheimer, and I stayed at this salon, because it's so convenient.   The thing I liked about both my old and new stylist is that I could tell them what I didn't like about the previous haircut, and they were happy to change things to the way I liked--no arguing or taking things personally.  They also have a great selection of products.
