I bought an amazon deal here for my birthday mani-pedi. They were super friendly when I came in, but when the owner realized I had the amazon deal that kindness went away super quickley. I shrugged it off because that's what I do. She then tried to offer me other services which cost $30 extra and when i declined she went back to being a sour face. The tech that did my mani-pedi was super quiet(which I enjoyed) and did a great job with my manicure pedicure & it is only because of her that this place gets the 3 stars. Needless to say I'm not coming back.

INFECTION FROM A PEDICURE!!!
I considered giving two stars because previously, I've had good experiences at Beautiful Forever. But a few days ago, my boyfriend went with me for a mani-pedi to see if it's really worth it for guys. Well, for him it DEFINITELY wasn't. His toes were swollen and painful on the side of the nail and sure enough, when I pressed on it, pus came out. We are going to the doctor to get him antibiotics, which makes the $35 mani-pedi deal a lot more than that.
Also, while this hasn't been my experience in the past, the water was too cold for the beginning of my pedicure and the woman who did my manicure was positively surly. I don't expect to make conversation with the manicurist, and I get that she is there to do a job, but her demeanor was so cold that it was off-putting.
Before Saturday, I would've recommended this place. Now I have no choice but to urge people to stay away. -

Thieves! I came here to get my nails done and they quoted me a ridiculously high price. The price was steep but I thought it would be good, but they quoted the next woman a cheaper price for the same thing. When confronted the women started lying then disappeared. Another lady's nails was painted the wrong color and they argued her that it was right for 20 minutes. Unfriendly staff, horrible customer service. I wouldn't recommend coming here. 1 star for how my nails turned out.

I actually walked out after sitting with my feet in cold water for 1/2 an hour, waiting for my mani-pedi. Techs were working on either side of me and I asked several times how long it would be. "Just finishing, be right there" while my toes turned to prunes. Finally I stood up and said I was leaving and got a disturbed response of NO you can't. Well yes I did and I won't be back. By the way, they hand you a menu where a regular mani/pedi is nowhere to be found with only higher priced options.

Oh, Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll No. No!
I came here to get my acrylic nails removed... It was my first time getting acrylic nails and my nails are on the sensitive side... Which I express to the nail guru. Nail guru looks at my nails, and instead of soaking it in acetone, nail guru clips away. With regular nail clippers. A piece flies into my face.
"Le sorry," he says. I nod. Beauty is pain, after all.
After nail guru clips them to the edges of my skin, he takes a filer and flicks them off from my nail beds. Without acetone, or nail polish remover, or any kind of soak. Pieces from the top of my nails come ripping off. It is so painful that I vowed I'd rather be ugly. I see more skin than remainder of nail, and nail guru chats to me about gambling and Vegas while I'm trying not to cry. My nails start bleeding, especially after he ripped a piece which split my nail down the middle.
It is not worth it to be manhandled by the infamous nail guru here!Listed in: Is this a joke?

Beautiful Forever is not what it once was. I have been going there for more than three years and have watched it deteriorate in quality and professionalism. The technicians are grumpy and inappropriate. Their work seems to get sloppier as their prices get higher. Worst of all, I have been put in the middle of employee arguments recently.
The final straw came when I was lied to for several weeks by the owner. I was told over and over that my favorite technician, Rick, is "sick" or on "vacation." My suspicions were confirmed when I saw him working at Nail Garden in the Fashion Square Mall.
I no longer go to BF and I strongly recommend you don't either. -

Not great, but fine. My nails look great, and the person I worked with spoke English well. The massage of feet and hands wasn't great, just okay. I was actually disappointed because that is why I went. I was in need of a little pampering. Prices reasonable, service good, end result good. Nothing great though. If you know of a place you think is great, skip here. But, if you just need to get your nails done and you don't care about the whole pampering experience, this is your place.

Overpriced.
No one speaks English
They say its cash only but they do take credit cards when they feel like it. (They probably don't report half of their taxes.)
They cut my cuticles to the point of bleeding!!
They don't pay attention to their work.
Very unprofessional. -

I've yet to try out more nail salons but my first silk nail experience was nice here. A bit pricey at $50, but it looks like my natural nail and not extra bulky like a fake nail. I was told today that their acrylics are also as natural which would be quite amazing because I've had it done once and not only did it look fake, but it damaged my nails severely. I was told that they use quality material (double the price or triple) including an acid-free primer for the acrylic, which accounts for their higher price. I think other places could seem fancier for the price but so far it was good. I'll try out the acrylics next time and see how they work out.
edit: after trying out other nail salons, this place SUCKS! OVERPRICED for quality. I also get annoyed by all the yapping. When I was there, there were 3 guys speaking Vietnamese LOUDLY and playing cards right next to me. I've found other places that have better ambience, no foreign language yapping (like you know they are talking about you sometimes) and $50 for silk wrap and acrylic? I've vound way better for $35-$45.Listed in: It's all for VANITY Dammit.

Review from Rachel B.
While getting a mani-pedi there in January I complained to my sister that my polish only lasts three days no matter what I use. The nail tech who was taking care of my pedi asked me if I'd ever had acrylics and said that if I had them my polish would last two weeks.
Everything I knew about acrylics involved trailer parks, Peggy Bundy, or the puffy French tips I'd seen on cheerleaders at my high school years before. The tech assured me that times had changed, and that the process had become much less harmful.
So I said, sure, let's try it out. He put acrylics on me and I was astounded- no more broken, peeling nails, gone are the hours I would labor, painstakingly painting my cuticles while trying not to spill my $18 Chanel polish on the coffee table.
Suddenly I'm spending $75 a month on fills and polish changes for my toes... sometimes more. I've become a full-fledged junkie. My tech of choice, Tony, is relatively new there but very, very good. On my last visit he applied a gel sealant to my nails because I abuse my hands so horribly.
The price issues... I've seen a number of reviews here that mention that this salon is expensive. I would like to live in a world in which I can get a new set and a polish change for under $50, in a clean place on a major road in a busy part of town. Unfortunately, I doubt that such a place exists, with commercial rents in Sherman Oaks being as insanely high as they are, and with the staff being so meticulously devoted to good hygienic practice, this is one time where I'm willing to take the bad of a high cost with the good.
All in all, if you live in the area and need a new nail spot, it's worth a visit, but bring cash with you as they don't accept credit cards. -

How about a male perspective?
Here ya go! It's LA (as stated below) and I noticed I was not the only man concerned with proper grooming. The place was very clean, the staff was very attentive and got us right in. Michele did my Mani - Pedi and was quite thorough. the cost was a little more than usual, but the convenience of a newstand, Gelson's and not having to wait made the extra cost insignificant.
* Oh bring cash, or you will be forced to use the ATM that is sitting in the waiting area. -

Studio City, CA
I have been to this place two times and have decided to keep looking. I have just recently moved to the Studio City and found this nail salon after swinging by Gelson's one afternoon.
The people there were not particularly friendly but I must admit they did an amazing job on my nails. I was a bit put off that the woman doing my manicure wore gloves but I just brushed it off. I was a bit taken aback by how expensive it was but once again they did a great job. I don't get wraps I just have my natural nails and it is really hard to find a place that knows how to do natural short nails.
when I went back the 2nd time the rudeness was just on another level. After I received my mani/pedi I looked around and realized that they had drying machines and no one had ever offered me one. I asked if they had any and the guy directed me to the front of the store but did not offer to help me. In the process of moving to the drying station I messed up my manicure. Then I was sat at the table and ignored the rest of the time I was there.
I hate to chalk stuff up to racism I truly do. Let's just say that they didn't seem to treat any of the other customers in the store the way the treated me. A few of the other reviews commented on the price being too high. I don't mind paying for good service; however, I refuse to continue to give my money to a salon that does not respect me and treat me with the utmost professionalism and customer service. -

I used to LOVE this nail place. It was the best. It's where I had my nails done for my wedding- Ioved it that much.
Sadly this place has gone DOWN HILL. The last time I was in there it was starting to feel a little dirty- today it was down right filthy. They used to have rules about cell phone and children- not any more. Kids were rolling around on the unused pedicure stools. Ladies chatting on their phones. It was not quiet or peaceful.
The pedicure was fine- but they used toilet paper to divide my toes, and when i was ready to leave- my pedicurist didn't help me get the TP out of my toes or with my shoes- she was busy on her computer.
The Manicure- the worst I have had- my 11 year old niece does a better job with polish. I even mentioned it to the manicurist that there was a foreign body in my polish and she gouged it out- then put a thicker coat of polish over the mark. The polish is think and uneven- she did nothing to fix it nor offered to start over.
Luckily for me I live in the San Fernando Valley where nail salons are on every corner. -

Clean, comfortable, friendly environment.
Quality nail & waxing products, attentive staff.
Jenny has been doing my acrylics for over a year - they are elegant and realistic and she is a gentle artist.
I have been getting my brows done here forever and have not a single complaint.
The spa pedicure is perfect from the abundant massage chairs to the trendy seasonal opi colors - this is a hidden gem.
Recessionista Price Tip: mid week discounts on most services for a limited time make this place a steal! -

Walked in on a whim on a Sunday and it was no problem to get a pedicure. I was quickly seated and my pedi began. It was really good, including foot scrub and they did a great job. It was pretty quick too but I felt like they were very attentive and didn't skip a thing. Pedicure was $26. (I didn't get a mani, but for reference it is $17). It was quiet in there (Sunday) and massage chairs are arranged so you aren't sitting immediately next to anyone, which is nice for privacy and peace, but might not be ideal if you want to go with a girlfriend to catch up and bond. Either way, I'll be back.

Very clean place. They do an excellent, neat job, and you dont' have to be afraid of catching a nasty fungus. The staff doesn't try to chat you up which is a plus if you're in a rush or just tired. Overall, it's well worth three or five extra bucks for a mani.

I was looking for minx nails when I came across this business. After over 15 places I found this spot. They did an amazing job the first time. The second time the girl did an o.k. job. I went back to get a couple re done. The owner told me that they were going to discontinue the service and no longer going to do it. I am out of a spot to get Minx done. I am the one that posted the pictures on their Yelp page,

The very strong odor of acetone hit me when I entered. Then I had to talk the girl that was going to do my nails into doing the pedicure first, which is usually the routine at most salons. She didn't try to talk to me at all, which was ok, and I didn't hear any conversations in Vietnamese between the manicurists during my visit. The massage was really good, but for the money ($40 for both, plus tip), I think I'll stick to closer to home next time.

if you want someone you prefer, you usually need an appointment. Rick is the best and often booked. Nice clean place but it's hit/miss on the acrylics. Pedicures are very consistent. Ask for the Callus removal -- it's $10 more but well worth it. I like that the chairs give you privacy. Good design there!

Clean and quiet. Great place to zone with a tabloid while getting a mani-pedi -- there are cheaper places but the prices are fair and consistent with other Sherman Oaks nail salon like Hands 2 Hold.

When I first walked into this salon, it appeared to look alright. I figured i would try something new since I couldn't get into my nail salon.
WORD TO THE WISE... sometimes having to have your nails done , should be more thought out.
Joanne who did my Pedi was nice. The pedicure was fine actually. The massage which we all know is the bets part could of been longer but whatever.
The woman ( didn't catch her name ) who did my Mani wasn't so great. Again massage could of been longer BUT all and all it blew.
When I asked to have NailTecs put on as a bottom quote she opened up an old bottle and the polish went on my nail like glue. I didn't say anything but I wanted too. Anyway she put on the nail color and it horribly globby. I asked for her to re due it. I then figured maybe using that color was part of the problem, I asked her to open a new bottle of NailTecs which she did, i picked a new color, which Joanne then applied for me .
Long story short ( sorry to bore all of you)
I could of just smacked myself in the had when I asked "How Much " and they said $53.00. Now mind you I did have a Pedi, Mani & Callas treatment but seriously 53 bucks....
AND the kicker is with in 1 day 3 of my nails chipped horribly and by today which is day 4 I had to take my polish all off because it was to chipped.
NOTE TO SELF will never be going back there. -

So why is a Guy reviewing a Nail Salon? Well this is LA. I hit this place once or twice a month to get my nails touched up and buffed, but really this review is for my wife. She loves this place. They'll do manicures and pedicures and it's a big shop with at least 10 pedicure stands. The staff is friendly but not pushy and try to do a good job. My wife recommends Sam for Nails and David for Pedicures Easy access and parking since it is in the Gelson / Solley's shopping Center.

I discovered this place when visiting my girlfriend in Sherman Oaks and she invited me to come with her to get a pedicure. It was about a year and a half ago, and I hadn't moved to the LA area yet. I had no favorite place in mind and decided to give them a whirl. I had a french pedicure done exactly as requested with white polish painted on the tips and then cleaned up with a brush soaked in polish remover to create crisp yet naturally curved lines. A clear pink polish was applied to the bed of the nail up to (but not over) the white tips, followed by two coats of a long-wear top coat and voila! Crisp, clean, pink & white french pedicure sans the annoying acrylic usually necessary to pull of the same look. I was amazed. It was late summer so I wore mainly open-toed shoes and the pedicure stood up to just under 2 weeks before slight signs of chipping finally emerged.
Fast forward to two weeks ago. Frustrated with every salon I've visited in LA so far (how hard IS IT to get a decent french pedicure around these parts?!) I decided to drive over the hill to the one salon I remembered to be good. A younger, soft-spoken but sweet girl helped me into the chair and listened to my requests. She understood me when I requested that the white be done with a brush to clean up the line of white but seemed confused with the separate application of pink. Thankfully, I had purchased a clear dark pink color and brought it in my purse and she happily allowed me to walk her through the process of how I preferred it to be done. She recommended a long-wear polish to apply over the white before the pink and finished with a top-coat that I preferred and brought as well. She did such a good job listening to me that I asked her to do a french manicure on my hands instead of my usual Essie Madmoiselle and was beyond pleased as I left the salon. Once again, my french lasted me two weeks (maybe a little longer this time) and my manicure surprisingly showed signs of chipping after a whole week- wow! This girl did such a good job I feel embarrassed for not remembering her name! The only reason why I didn't give these guys 5 stars is because they are a 20-40 min drive from my house- why can't they be closer?! LOL...
Pros:
Free parking
Staff listens to your preferences
Comfortable chairs
Cons:
Shared parking with Gelsons/Fed Ex Kinko's can get hectic, but not unbearable
Cash only
Far from my house!:-/ -
