Ok so I'm not the one that got the haircut but they did such a good job I felt I had an obligation to report. So I took my slightly socially awkward and picky brother here for his monthly trim. We had to wait for a bit as all of the barbers were occupied and there were a couple of people ahead of us. Fifteen minutes later, my brother consulted with Anita (I think that's her name) for a sec and she went to work. My brother is picky and sometimes has an ass-backwards way of explaining things (I say this not out of spite but because I DO THE EXACT SAME THING) and I was worried there might be a communication problem. So after a few "I want this line to be straighter... and this is a little wonkety" from my bro, Anita went to work and consulted every 5 minutes or so with him if it was how he liked it (without sounding annoyed or anything!). After a few revisions, she did some real nice cleaning up with a straight razor and sent my brother back a happier, neater kid. My brother says he's never had a closer shave in his life.

Also, as I was waiting on him, I couldn't help but observe on the other barbers. One guy was working on a mohawk with a bit of detailing and it looked real nice but please understand that THIS'LL COST MORE. I couldn't tell if the customer got the message or not. The barber with the glasses was equally thorough and consulted with the customers very well before getting on with the cut--even making sure a customer's scalp is the right shape for a real close cut . Actually, this attention to detail was true for all the barbers.

Minor gripes: Maybe because it was so so busy, no one got around to cleaning up the accumulating pile of hair around the chairs. They could really use a fourth set of hands to just manage everything else so the barbers can do their jobs.

Also: COFFEE IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON SATURDAYS. I was really looking forward to that free cup but apparently they were wasting too much coffee on the weekdays so they stopped having it then.

A+++ for this exchange:

Barber 1: I think it's so-and-so's turn for the music.

Barber 2: Hrmmm.. well how about I put on some Megadeth?

Me (in my head): YES

Coffee and a haircut for $15....
Need I say more.  I don't, but I will.

This is the kind of barbershop that has barbers.  The barbers are as well suited at conversation as they are cutting hair.  The iPod cranks out obscure tunes that make the atmosphere relaxing and inviting.  My hair cut was finished off with the warm shaving cream and shave on the neck.

This is the only place I will get my hair cut.
