The Bears is back! It's now located on San Carlos. It opens at 6 am just like the old location. 2 Pool Tables and ongoing pool tournaments. Karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. Usually around 3 pm weekdays they have food. A lot of the same regulars from the original Bears over on Alma mixed in with a lot of people that used to frequent The Glass Gecko. Tony has done a lot to fix this place up. New paint, took down all the tacky Gecko's and put in a AC unit. THIS PLACE ROCKS ON HOT SUMMER DAYS AND NIGHTS! The womens bathroom is one of the cleanest at a smaller bar I've seen in a while. All the bartenders are very personable and make awesome drinks. Love to come here on Saturday around noon and get a Bloody Mary....YUM!

When it comes to dive bars, nothing really tops the Bears. In my tenure as a regular there, I have seen bloody knife fights, hookers pissing their pants, and a gun deal. There is abandoned office furniture in the back (a nice touch for the now deflated Silicon Valley), and you can smoke cigarettes under a canopy. The drinks are insanely strong and Dave, the bartender, is very hip. Just watch out for knife-wielding psychos.
