I have gone here a handful of times, I get the rhinestones to pimp out my phone, ipod, laptop ect from here.

Every time I am in here the younger girls seem a little annoyed to be helping me. Like I interrupted a completely juicy gossip sesh or something.
I mean I am a pretty quick sell, I already know what I what I just need them to get it from behind the counter.
At any rate, the store has a pretty awesome selection, no matter what your task at hand may be.
The prices are reasonable and the have all the supplies.

LOVE this place!!! They have everything you can possibly imagine!! They have the best selection of charms in both sterling silver and metal!! Also, the most choices of chains in sterling, gold filled , and metal!! Not to mention the various color selection in the swarovski rhinestones!! Just love the selection and the girls that work there are so sweet, helpful, as well as patient! Everytime I ask something, one of them is more than willing to help!! Great store, as well as staff!!! Highly recommend!!!

I visited the Pico location. Everything seems really picked over. The sales people aren't the friendliest, not to mention the girl whose text conversation obviously took priority over answering my questions. Their up-selling tactics and misleading on some prices really turned me off. I will not be going again.

No much of a selection and too expensive for what was available in Arcadia store, never visited other locations. NO checks accepted!

Because this is a chain, I'll have my review here, but I didn't visit this location. I went to the one in Arcadia on Huntington Drive.

I've been to the San Gabriel Bead Co., and they have quite a selection with seemingly okay prices. The service is helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. They'll even assist with design choices.

So, I tried Bead Source to see what they had going for them.
Frankly, not much.

This location in Arcadia was small and when I walked in, there were two employees present. One was telling the other about a previous customer that stunk, and she didn't want to help them. And I mean, stunk as in odor, not quality.

The customer apparently said she'll just go to Bead Co. because they have a bigger selection and cheaper prices. The employee then told her co-worker that she didn't really care and was glad because the woman smelled.

Now, I understand that jobs are jobs and you talk to your co-workers because customers *aren't* always right. But, you know what? I WAS IN THE SHOP. How could an employee actually talk like that with a customer browsing right in front of her? That just seems...oblivious, and rude. I found it very distasteful for a professional.

And, that customer was right anyway. They are way more pricey with less of a selection. The service was okay, I asked some questions, and they answered, but I felt that all they wanted to do was head to a bar and talk about my hair, or earrings, or whatever they could complain about.

I won't be going there again, and I probably won't be going to any of their other locations.

Back in the day when I was semi unemployed  (those who do freelance will understand) I used to make lots o jewelry to sell to supplement my measly income.

This is the place I would shop at when I was just getting started and didn't know that there was a mecca of bead shops in Downtown. That said, if you are a novice jewelry maker this place will have all the items that you will need to make yourself a cute new pair of earrings or necklace or whatever else might suit your fancy without having to buy in bulk. The catch with that is there is a little bit of a markup on individual stones and fittings. The good thing is though if you are just making something for yourself or presents for friends the deal that you are getting is great. I used to get inspiration from alot of high end jewelers and make notes when I shopped at places like Bloomingdales to see what was hot at the moment. Then I would go make something similar for about $10 using the same quality of materials.

The girls that work there are pretty helpful in finding you what you need too if you have no idea where to begin.

Happy jewelry making!! :)

Okay, I went to Bead Source over the weekend, and the same gal (who appeared bored and huffy the last time) was super helpful, and advised me on which glue I should use to help me along with making Tarina Tarantino hair bow knockoffs for family Christmas presents. She was patient when I kept asking "Uh...how much is in a gross again?" She was spot on with the advice, and even gave me a discount on the rhinestones I needed. WOOHOO!!!

I went to this store looking for some kitty pendants/beads for a kitty-themed necklace. They have a pretty good selection of charms, but they're all plastic with metallic paint. The other beads they have are the plastic ones with glitter junior high girls use to make lanyards. They had some nice things, but they were locked up and the sales girls were not very attentive or helpful, so it wasn't easy to see the nicer strands of beads. Also their prices are a little ridiculous for what you're getting-- you could honestly get the exact same beads at Michael's for half the price. After a quick walk-through of the store, I was ready to leave. I'll probably be back to attempt to look at their pearls again, but I wouldn't go back for anything else.

Good selection, but definitely overpriced (especially the chain). Fantastic variety of shapes and colors of swarovski crystals. Okay selection of natural stones. Pretty extensive selection of findings (though pretty expensive). The service is hit or miss - they can usually find you anything you need, but look extremely bored while doing so. If you do shop here - get a discount card (pay a small amount, get 10% off each purchase). It's handy when I really need something - just wish they were open until 7 pm and that the prices were more reasonable. I usually head over to Sweets Beads on Beverly for friendlier service and great prices.
