Beacham Street
1 review for Beacham Street
It's a mess, but you can't say you know how to get around this area until you know how to use Beacham Street.
Without a doubt one of the unsung linchpins of the local road network, Beacham Street is indispensible for avoiding traffic bottlenecks in the lower Mystic Basin. While it's true that its travelers have to tolerate the truck traffic serving the Sithe New England generating station and the Boston Produce Center, and worse yet the well-to-do yuppies of the elite Admiral's Hill development, Beacham Street is still worth your while for the excellent access it provides to the Chelsea salt pile, the Mystic View Mall (mostly closed), the Gulf/Cumberland Farms headquarters, and the Mike's Roast Beef district.
Don't rely too much on your suspension here -- steering hard and fast around the bits of forgotten rail and *enormous* potholes is a better bet. And if you find yourself halfway through and in need of a break, some of the area's most tasteful entertainment provides rest for the weary driver at King Arthur's Lounge.
