I just got my car washed here for the first time and I'm not going anywhere else. The service was great, a little slow (about half an hour) but if you have grocery shopping you can walk a block away to Vons and kill some time. Clancy's is also across the street so go have a drink. But this was a great car wash for the money ($15.00) and my car seemed to stay clean for longer afterwards than it usually does.
This place really does give an all-hands car wash. Because of this feature, it's a little slow. Make sure you have at least 45 minutes to spare. They charge a 75 cent surcharge for debit so bring your cash. The price ($15) is reasonable for what you get but I was really looking for a no frills wash and vacuum which they don't offer.
With all that said, I would go back. The guys did a nice job.

When you move into a new neighborhood, you need to know the basics. And if you are in or around downtown LB, Alamitos Beach area, then this is the place to take your car for a wash or detail. They do a 100% hand wash for a reasonable rate that includes your tires and air freshener.
I'm so close I just leave it and come back in about 30-45 minutes and it's all ready. Great location on the corner of Alamitos & Broadway, right across the street from Clancy's.

I'm so lucky that this place is in my neighborhood - we wanted to tint our windows slightly to keep the sun from killing our car interior, and a body shop recommended them.
The guys were very helpful over the phone, and when I dropped the car off, they were patient and considerate while I wavered back and forth on the amount of tint that I wanted (who knew there were so many options?!?)
I came back later in the day and they had finished the tinting job, which looked as good as any factory job I've seen, and they had washed and detailed the car at no extra charge.
While I was there for the drop off and pick up, I saw at least three other very happy customers paying for and then driving off in their clean cars.
I wholeheartedly recommend Beach City - everyone there is all smiles and very helpful, and their rates seem very reasonable (I can't say that I did much shopping around, but the guy who sold us the car in Northern California said that it was typically $75/window, and this was much less, but perhaps that varies on the location and car).
