Q:
Are there any vegan and gluten free options? If so, what are they? Thank you!
A:
I can't say they have any main course items specifically for vegan eaters. It's mostly based around a meat, fish & tofu.

Do you are here steam egg?
A:
No steamed egg here which is surprising for a K BBQ Rest but then again they're known for their tofu soups. I actually ordered 2 fried eggs and it works just as well over rice.

Bcd tofu house in nj is way better than the ny location imo.
Ban chan (side dishes) are always on a rotation. They give you a decent amt - maybe 6ish banchan and an egg for your soondubu. They give you fried fish per person. The galbi here is charcoal grilled and a decent amt. Summer has neng myun specials and spring has joogoomi specials (small octopus)
The rice is served in stone bowls, which they scoop out and put tea in the bowls - so you can get a bit of the noolongi ("burnt rice")Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - David H.Lomita, CA43397166Apr 9, 2024
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 28633957Feb 28, 2024
We ended up here after having gone to another nearby restaurant that was having water pressure issues and, upon seeing the recognizable name BCD, we ventured in. Seating was prompt and comfortable. The place was busy.
We each ordered an entree and learned that they have a beer and wine license, so we tried from among their limited alcohol offerings. The beer and soju options weren't especially appealing, but they were part of the immersion in the experience.
The food was good. My favorite food item were the dumplings that we ordered as a share plate. Plentiful servings and very polite and helpful staff to help navigate the unfamiliar territory.
The manager came over promptly to sort out one early misunderstanding with our very nice server and his clarification was greatly appreciated.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 6, 2024
Amazing Korean food. Love the oyster soon tofu soup and the kalbi. Quick service. They don't cook on your table here, but the bbq dishes and banchan are just as good as any other Korean restaurant where they cook on your table.

I'm not Korean or from this area, but I can say I've been to a lot of Korean places and this place is great. The food tastes great and has great value, and when you finish you won't be greeted with a gigantic bill like some other places.
The ambience of this place is nice. Servers were polite, the place is clean, and very roomy. I enjoyed all the food, but by far I like the raw crab, you just can't find it everywhere. That being said the tofu soup was good as well. I ordered mild which was not spicy at all, that being said if you like spicy soup you should go within the spicy version.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 81165224Oct 25, 2023
One of the my favourite go-to Korean places!
The wait times are insane sometimes but the food is worth waiting.
The service is pretty quick here. And at the same time they don't force you to move quickly.
You start with accompaniments like Kimchi, broccoli, cabbage salad, etc and a hot tea! I love the broccoli - couldn't imagine that broccoli would taste this good. Lol.
So glad that they have vegetarian options.
We usually order the hot vegetable bibimbap - ofcourse it comes super hot but love this.
Soon tofu is another my go-to order. It's hot, you can spice it up and so comforting.
Another dish I like here is Japchae which is also vegetarian friendly and so yummy!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 17, 2023
I like going for their lunch special for the tofu stew and meat on the side. Be careful on the spiciness level since the very spicy is actually spicy. You have to go for the tofu stew since it is a tofu house and that is what they specialize in; but the meats are so good too such as the galbi. The employees are always soft spoken, polite, and well mannered. Although I am Korean, do not worry if you do not speak Korean. The workers know English and will be happy to answer any questions that you have about a certain Korean dish.
I have went with my friends that are not Korean and they did not feel uncomfortable or uneasy about not knowing Korean or not knowing much about the menu. I also have seen other groups of people that were not Korean that looked comfortable and happy to be there. I only mentioned that last part because there have been other places I been to that seem to treat others differently for not knowing the language or being from a different culture. But again...this place is not one of them!
If you have been thinking about going, I definitely recommend going 10/10!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 23, 2023Updated review
Service is fast and they are super efficient. I got the raw crab and tofu soup combo, the best deal. I love all the sides they give you and they keep it coming too! Highly recommend the raw crab, if you are looking for that TikTok viral Korean dish, this is the place to go.
We also got the LA Galbi combo and the Galbi was soooo good.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Jun 27, 2022Previous reviewIt's been a while, but I have to say, so good. The service was great, he was quick and super helpful, and was on top of everything. We got the tofu soup, the crab and the spicy pork. I've never felt so full.
I would highly recommend the crab, it's raw, soft and the seasoning was just so on point. Not that spicy, but just enough. (Waiter name was Saul!)Oct 9, 2019Previous reviewSo nice to have hot tofu soup when it's raining outside! This place is always busy, and the service is always great. The servers are always stopping by to ask if you need anything and overall super helpful. My family order two tofu soup and 2 specials with the raw crabs and two tofu soup. Definitely worth it! The raw crabs fed all four of us and the soups were delicious as usual.
The only thing I did not like is the kids room they have. I was in the booth in front of the door, and boy can those kids scream. It ruined a good meal because the kids were screaming at the top of their lungs and were running inside the restaurant! We asked if they could close the door, but they didn't. The manager did grab the parents of the kids to ask them to be quiet, but it didn't help.
If you go, asked to be seated away from the kids room! - Kyle N.Brooklyn, NY32162Mar 21, 2024
The food is always good. Love getting the combos. It was very busy on a Saturday lunch but was able to grab a table for 5 in 30 min. The staff is always helpful. Our waitress was very attentive in refilling our side dishes which was very nice. She also introduced us in eating the leftover crunchy rice with water which is a dessert in Korean culture. The ambiance is very family friendly. Many families eat here. There is a big parking lot that is shared with other stores so be ready to circle around because it does film up quickly.

I had a chance to stop by last Friday for lunch. I had the Galbi combo set with Tofu Stew and it was very delicious! There's also plenty of side dishes to enjoy your meal with such as beans, Kimchi and fish to accompany the main dishes. The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly and attentive in a great atmosphere. So I highly recommend this place if you are in the area! :)
