I heard about this place from the receptionist over at the hotel I'm staying at tonight. After googling and yelling about this place, come to find out, it's pretty similar to CupBop out in the midWest and West Coast. I had a really bad experience with Korean Food smothered into a fancy looking large cup. However, knowing me and my quest to "Still" have hope and dreams that it'll be delicious and fulfilling, I ventured over to this establishment anyways!! BB Cup here I come!!
Smack in around downtown Blacksburg, VA, it was a bit hard to find the restaurant/shop (I'll tell you in a few minutes why "shop"). Whipping towards the back of the buildings along the students and residents living quarters (yes students because this is one big College Town--the infamous Virginia Tech University is a big part of this city), you'll be lucky to find a street parking spot. Sorry no parking lots here. Maybe across from the establishments you'll be able to park in the city's municipal parking lots; be warned you might get a ticket!!
Anyhow, onto the food at the shop!!
The shop is pretty trendy and pretty much economically laid out. Bench-wall seating along the side of the walls and window front and two benches that seats 6-8 or so. Majority of folks come in and order to eat really quick or take to go. You order and pay it all up front where you can see the register and the kitchen; hence the "shop" referring to how it is in South Korea; small footprint small shop--all home meal cooking!!!
So I ordered the Beef Bulgogi along with the Spicy Tofu Soup. Both was very very good!! Just look at the pictures!!! This took me by surprised because Korean Food in a cup was not the way to go, in my opinion that is. This was really good. The Spicy Tofu Soup was cooked just right--not salty or bland.
IM DEFINITELY RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE !!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 2018
My favorite is the spicy pork bulgolgi and beef bulgolgi with the bibimbap sauce on the side! Both are so delicious and a regular cup is all you need to fill up on great Korean flavors! I love coming here when I have a craving for some amazing Asian flavors when I get bored of eating the same things around town. It's definitely a treat for me to stop by, but it's worth it every time!
Parking is tricky since it's on a strip downtown, but I can almost always find parking in a lot right around the corner from Mellow MushroomHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Danielle M.Burke, VA02724Mar 21, 2021
The workers were so kind in explaining the menu & the different food offered. Delicious food and the portions were just perfect. Will be coming back (:

kimchi was delicious and so was the veggie bibimbap. Lots of yummy sauces to chose from, my personal fave was the soy BBQ!

I have been wanting to try this place ever since it opened and I finally got around to trying it! I ended up ordering the #1 which is a noodle bowl with rice, potato, and beef and was not disappointed! The beef was delicious and I added some of the medium-spice some sauce which gave it a nice bite.
The employees were all very kind and helpful and were great at explaining how to get the most flavor out of the dish and what sauces to put on it. I got mine to go; however, they do have a nice seating area with tables if you want to eat in!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katie M.Roanoke, VA1656Jan 21, 2021
BB Cup is a go to for lunch or dinner for me, and different from a lot of the other restaurants in Blacksburg. Really consistently awesome food, good prices, and friendly staff. Make sure to try the desserts at some point! Great way to support small businesses!

Very good Korean joint in downtown Blacksburg. I had the bulgogi and it was sweet and yummy. The rice was just the right consistency. I got a large but it was too much. For two of us, it was $20 for two large meals and two cans of soda.
The place is small and seating is limited. There are vegetarian and vegan options.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maria B.Fairfax, VA176028Feb 23, 2018
OMFG THIS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE. AMAZING FOOD, aesthetic, staff, ambiance, and everything. Vegetarian friendly AF. I'm not as well versed in Korean food as I would like to be but I have a decent idea. This is quick, yummy AF, efficient, and just great. The ambiance is AMAZING and the staff is soooo considerate and helpful. They instruct u on how to mix up the food bc they know us non Koreans can get lost AF. The sauces are KEY!!!! If u eat it without the sauce just don't. Omfg I'm craving this rn.

Had such high expectations for this place after reading the reviews. I'm from the Hampton Roads area with plenty of bulgogi places . That said anyone knows bulgogi is pieces of rib eye beef. Pieces...small pieces but NOT ground beef. There was ground tiny pieces in the bulgogi we ordered and the Bibimbap. The bibimbap also had a busted egg yoke. It was tasty but the texture of the meat ruined it for me . I expected a rounded bowl as the lid on the bowls were rounded but for the almost nine dollar price it was not enough food for the price paid.

Great Korean food. Excellent service. Around 20$ for a large amount of food for two. Limited seating, but that's pretty standard for a place like this.
They do have parking around back, but it's only a few spots. Even so, the downtown location makes it easy to get to.
The chicken Galbi is VERY spicy, so if you can't handle heat or if you're not feeling very adventurous, go with the Bulgogi.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
