I just saw Erica for acupuncture, and am stunned at how well it worked. I severed some vertebrae in my neck many years ago, and as I've aged have started to feel LOTS of aches and pains. Esp. my hips--they have gotten really bad in recent years.
I was very very skeptical about acupuncture, but read a lot of rave reviews about Erica on Yelp. Had to give it a try.
She met with me, asked lots and lots of q's about my malady, lifestyle, diet, exercise, etc. She then applied needles from my forehead to my toes, and I rested for 20 min. After that, I flipped over and got needles from the back of my head to the bottoms of my feet. I was there 1 1/2 hrs., and she wasn't rushing me in any way.
Cut to the chase: My hip pain is virtually gone. I'm amazed. My hips haven't felt this loose in years. Can't wait to go back and get my Qi released some more! Well worth the $50 price (I forgot to tip, but I'll get you next time, Erica!)
No offense to my fellow yelper, but I just can't believe that bad review. Are you serious guy ?!
I've been going to Baysix for a little over two years and have loved literally, every massage I've gotten there (not to say I don't have my favorite therapist). The environment is extremely relaxing and very clean and well kept - quite a find in Redwood City.
I've been coming here for 2 years because I can afford to, their prices are extremely competitive and almost a steal for the quality of massage. Particularly since I've done the whole LaBelle and Watercourse Way thing and while there is more of a "spa feel" here (if you like that sorta thing), I've had much higher quality massages here and never been disappointed.
I tried Baysix out last week and am sending my husband today. The massage was great -- by Erica -- and the service is really friendly. I like to have the quality therapeutic massage experience as well as the luxury of a spa; unfortunately, the spa element is missing a bit. But, the quality of the massage outweighs it and I have yet to find a spa that has a quality massage experience! The value is very good as well.

Tony is the massage master. I first went when my neck was completely screwed up with an odd twist and an irritated nerve. Jennifer (the owner) got me in the day I called and when the pain kept escalating.
While the intro pricing is seductive, Baysix is regular pricing is competitive for a low-frills place. The environment is attractive and reminds me that a small space doesn't have to mean dated decor.
Tony helped the healing immediately. I felt miles better right then. Unfortunately, I went to a new chiropractor (not their's) and she completely worsened my condition. I really suffered the next few days.
Thank God I had already booked another appointment with Tony. He worked on the really bad, painful parts and the next morning I thought a miracle had happened because I was out of pain for the first time in 1-1/2 weeks.
He did what no amount of Aleve, Motrin and Vicodin could do. On top of all of it, Tony is a really caring professional. Somehow he does the really deep tissue work without the extreme pressure. He slowly works into it.
I've had my third appointment with him now and I'm going to continue steady appointments for a while. See if my neck benefits more from muscle relaxation than bone cracking! Go see Tony but leave a space for me!
If I could give it more stars I would, but yelp only allows 5! First, the customer service is impeccable. Jennifer is great, knows me by name on the phone and I have only been going there about 6 months. Second, I mostly go to Erica for Acupuncture and I have been to others but she is by far the best. Really takes her time to completely understand your needs. Thirdly, I have had one massage and got in on the same day! Was great and when I get some more money will book another massage. My boyfriend got a 90min from Erika and he said it was one of the best he has had. Fourth, the prices are great especially for the service and the atmosphere, you just can't beat it. You walk in and the lighting is dim and they speak softly and your immediately relaxed!. Fifth, conveniently located and near caltrain :) Sixth, their new corporate deals are great, just found out I can get a discount for being a member of Golds...that's amazing!
OK that's all I have for now, I could probably go on forever, you will have to check Baysix's out, especially with their intro rate it's the best deal on the peninsula for the service!
I'm a guy that never had a lot of massages before. When my chiropractor couldn't offer consistent treatments for pain cause by cycling , I decided to give baysix a try. Based only their Yelp reviews, I scheduled an appointment. I spoke to Jennifer when I called, I explained my problems and after listening closely to my needs she recomened Andrea, who was AMAZING!!!
The office is low-key, friendly and completely without a feeling of self-importance from the staff. Andrea made me feel comfortable, asked several questions to find out what was bothering me and took time to explain the treatment. I was so pleased that I've been back three times and I plan on making massage part of my post-event recovery routine.

I was in Redwood City for work and was in desperate need of a massage due to neck and shoulder pain. I was able to get an appointment right away and was paired with Tony. He was AMAZING!! It was the best therapeutic massage that I ever received, and I have had many. I felt so much better, and the price was very reasonable. I highly suggest this place and Tony. Next time I'm in town I will definitely come back.
They ruined my neck. After going here I am in intense pain and was in perfect health before. Im positive the old lady pinched a nerve and you should NEVER GO HERE!
The lady also smelled like peas and feet and would not stop talking. Gross.

My husband and I got deep tissue massages from Troy. Usually when I go to get a massage, the therapist says, "Wow, you sure do have a lot of tension" and then neglects to do anything about it. Troy actually worked through a lot of the stress and pain in both me and my husband. It was my first real deep tissue massage. He is great, and we highly recommend him.
The only thing we did not like about our massages was the persistent and loud Indian music coming from next door. Troy told us he had never heard the music before, so it was probably an unusual occurrence. Even with the noise, however, we would still go back to Troy.

Normally, I'm not much of a massage fan (except I love head, hands, & foot massages) but the massage I received at Baysix made me re-evaluate the ones I'd had elsewhere.
The girl who did my massage (Lindsay) was very good. I told her the type of pressure I wanted and that I wanted her to concentrate on : hands, feet, & head but with some body work. She did just as I asked!
After my massage, I was so relaxed that I started 'weaving' (as if I'd had a few drinks)!
I will definately come back.

This is my place to de-stress and get away from all the craziness at work...and the best part? Not only is the massage amazing (you wonder why you booked only an hour) but what keeps me coming back is their excellent customer service. Because my job can be unpredictable at times, I am notorious for scheduling and then re-scheduling at the last minute. Baysix, (especially Jennifer the owner) has been nothing but understanding and accomodating to my hectic schedule.

I first started going to Baysix after being rear ended at a dead stop on 101. I had such bad whiplash coupled with chronic tension and sever migraines that I thought I would never feel right again.
I was referred here by a friend and decided to take them up on their 30 offer. Within 3 weeks of starting a massage, yoga and acupuncture regimen I had regained 90 percent of my range of motion and was almost entirely pain free.
Now, a year later I am in the best shape of my life. I take a personal yoga lesson once a week and have a massage every other. I don't know where I would be without them but I tell you one thing for sure "I have never felt better!"

Thank you Yelp for allow us to re-review businesses; because these people deserve a second 5 star review from me. I am still amazed by how good I feel after each visit. We moved to Palo Alto a few months ago and it is still worth the commute to go here.
Although Erica is still my favorite massage therapist I've found Tony and Joe to be very good substitutes.

I am the ultimate skeptic. And by that I DO NOT mean I am hard to convince. I mean to say, I am only swayed by hard scientific fact. Conjecture and personal experience have never meant to much too my opinion of Alternative Medicine. Until it was me.
I'd been given no hope to cure my chronic sciatic pain, aside from surgery; by three Neurologists before I came to Bay Six.
I decided before I would go under the knife that there was no harm in exhausting all options first.
To my surprise after three massages and 2 acupuncture appointments my pain is almost completely gone!
Could this be placebo? Of course. But it brings a tear to my eye to know that my results are real. From one skeptic to another I highly recommend this business as a last result.
The quality and service here are top notch and the results amazing!

They aren't the cheapest and my massage therapist wasn't the best I've experienced. However, the place is clean and in RWC you always have to worry about stumbling into a "happy ending" kind of place, certainly no worry of that here. If you're looking for a friendly place, I think you'll be happy.
Also took a yoga lesson here. The room was impossibly small, so I was hitting the walls as I stretched. They said they'd have a yoga mat available, but when I got there they couldn't find it. The room quickly "funked up" with all the exhaling.
All in all an "okay" place. I just don't think it's worth all the hype you see here.
This place is a little slice of nirvana on the Peninsula!! My back was outta whack a few months ago and my boyfriend googled acupuncture in redwood city. I cannot tell you how pleased I am, that this business came up. I made an appt. with Jen the owner, to have a visit with, Erika the accupuncturist. Great experience, and I still get treatments with Erika. I have also had outstanding massages here and excellent one on one Yoga sessions with Iris. Talk about a wonderful one stop place for many holistic healings!! The owners, Chris and Jen, are about 2 of the nicest, caring and most helpful people you will meet. If you join, for a low annual fee, you also get great discounts for all services.

I scheduled a massage at Baysix after reading the reviews. I am new to the area, work a stressful desk job and get bad knots in my upper back. First, let me say that the staff here is very nice and accommodating. I had an appt. that I wasn't able to show for and they were very understanding. A few weeks later, my neck was very sore and Jennifer was able to schedule an appt. for me with Lois. Jennifer is a great listener and tried to match me up with someone who could address my needs. My massage was great! Lois gives a very strong, deep tissue massage. While at times, deep tissue massages can be intense, I felt SO MUCH BETTER after my massage. I could turn my head without pain. I had such a great experience, I scheduled my next massage for myself and one for my husband. Great service at a good price.

Second visit, I went to Tony, now that my neck was back in order, I wanted something more relaxing. Tony is GREAT. He has a magical touch. People really just need to remember to communicate! I told Tony that he could give more pressure and he did in the areas I asked him to focus on. He made me feel very comfortable by saying to let him know if anything felt unresolved. Amazing work on my arms, legs and back. I could feel my circulation going, pleasantly tingling sensation.
My husband went to Chris for a deep tissue. My husband has dense muscles and numerous knots. He said his experience was very good overall, but he still felt tense and thought at times that the pressure was too strong. (I told him to speak up!) I think I may send my hubby to Tony next time for a more relaxing style massage with some specific focus areas.

I LOVE this place. I have been to other massage places where I have felt ripped off, terrible after, or slightly molested. Baysix has never made me feel any of these things. Last time one of the masseurs done did me so good I fell asleep during my session and drooled all over the place. He wasn't even mean about it and told me it was a compliment to his craft. I truly do love this place, they're tight.

Wow, I think I just received one of the best massage in my life here. I saw Andrea, who utilized many different massage techniques on my body. Usually when I exercise and do shoulder rolls, I can feel this tightness and tension, but after the massage, I felt like I could move my body in ways it couldn't before. Amazing. Too bad, it only lasted a week since I started getting tense again from work stress.
4 stars instead of 5, only because I wish this was a day spa and there were more services (like skin care). =)
My husband and I are both regulars at Bay Six. We have both enjoyed massages and I also get acupuncture done there.
The staff is very friendly, and its easy to make an appointment. The massages we have had there have been great. Erika the acupuncturist is amazing!!
Don't expect a spa type experience, its a great place to get a relaxing therapeutic massage. They have a great first month introductory rate.

Wow! I don't know what else to say but WOW. I am typically leery massage places with deep discounts. After several disappointing experiences at other high priced local day spas I figured what the heck I'll give them a try. I am glad I did.
I had what had to be the single greatest massage experience of my life. I literally went somewhere else in my mind. It was almost like an out of body experience. There was a moment during my massage when my mind and my body kind of disconnected and I remember feeling like I was floating on a cloud of music. It was perhaps the most relaxed I have ever been. It was wonderful, this place is wonderful.
They have a clean facility and a friendly, helpful staff. The woman on the phone gave me several choices of masseuses; I chose Erica. If you haven't been here I highly recommend giving them a try.

I have spent years searching for decent massage services in the Bay Area. Maybe I am too picky, but even top rated spas have failed to inspire me to schedule return visits. Not so for this place. Baysix was such a surprise find. I made my first appointment expecting nothing more than standard service. Instead, I found that they provide FANTASTIC massage. I have visited their spa several times and each visit is at least as good as (if not better than) the one before. Each therapist actually listens to you and then administers their treatment following your personal preferences. They treat you as an individual instead of seeing you as just the next customer in line, and this level of involvement makes all the difference.
I tend to carry tension in my upper back and neck. At the time of my first visit, I could not turn my head from left to right because my neck was so very, very stiff. Then I met Lois and life changed for the better. :o) Lois can relieve tension in a way nobody else can. She is a delightful person and an AMAZING massage therapist. She has tons of experience, and it shows in the results she produces.
Christopher is wonderful, too. I really appreciate his technique. From my first session with him, he seemed to know just want I needed. During his massages he plays a peaceful nature soundtrack so softly in the background that you almost don't hear it at all. His massage is strong, deep and very relaxing. For me, this is the perfect combination.
My friends have visited Erika and they report she does a great job, too. Other on this thread have praised her, as well.
If you are still on the fence, you should treat yourself and give Baysix a try.

I like this place. I have been once and my husband once. I like that you can almost always get in and I like that they have people who do many kinds of massage. I am a hard massage customer since I can't relax. It is the mom thing.

I have suffered with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia all of my life. So I am no stranger to massage and other forms of alternative medicine. When I found this center I decided to take them up on their 30 offer and try massage combined with acupuncture and private yoga lessons. I have been amazed by the results. I have regained mobility I though was lost forever and my energy is through the roof.
These people truly live up to their reputation. They have a knowledgeable and friendly staff & a clean, comfortable facility. I highly recommend them.

You can't go wrong trying Baysix out for 30-day trial period and at reduced rates. Getting appointments with the therapist you want can be difficult, they seem like a new business at times: sometimes not as organized as one would like, with regard to scheduling (their scheduling computers are not linked) and staff knowledge about receipts (it is not as simple as one would hope). I would recommend you try them for thirty days no matter what.

I'm still feelng wonderful from Lisa's massage. She was nice enough to wait for me when I was stuck in traffic on the SMT and showed up 15 minutes late. Thank goodness--after that I needed a massage.
She was considerate and talented, and their $25 off for newbies special makes this an incredible deal. I will definitely be back...I just need to save my lunch money.

I began seeing Erika on a regular basis for acupuncture shortly after I met w/Lisa, and I can wholeheartedly recommend her treatment as well. Erika is thoughtful and gentle in her methods, and her care in listening to my ailments (and sometimes just my complaints about work and other stressors) really made me feel relaxed and well taken care of when I saw her.

After hearing about them from several friends, I finally had the time and felt the need for a therapeutic massage on Monday after running my first marathon. They fit me in their afternoon schedule, gave me their great introductory offer for new clients, and assigned Lisa as my therapist. She was great--very professional, warm without being smarmy, and gave me a great treatment. Today I was back out running again! Thanks!

Absolutely, positively, fantastic! The best massage ever!
My masseuse was Dan and he totally rocks. First, let me begin with a funny story of how I ended up here. So my GF and I have been purty busy, living our own lives and not having much time to connect. We both live busy work and active lifestyles.
In any case, Monday she tells me to make sure my Thursday is clear, she has something planned. I'm like cool.
So Thursday rolls around and she send me some address and tells me not to google them as it might give away the secret location she'll be meeting me. So I'm totally clueless, I show up at Baysix and it's not obvious from the outside what kinda place it is. I walk in and say with a question in my voice, " i have an appointment."
As they recognized that I was the suprisee, they smiled and I smiled and relaxed. Then I tuned in the music and the scent of lavender...oh a massage! How frick'n cool is the GF!
After feeling out a brief questionnaire, Dan sits with me and asks me a bit more about problem areas and then we get moved to the massage rooms.
The place is very nicely decorated and quite serene especially considering that it's not that far from the El Camino. And I must note, my appointment was at 630pm! So working people can take advantage and get a massage after work!
About my masseuse...Dan's approach to massage was very intuitive. He started by "reading" my body and then proceeding to work on trouble spots. He was very positive and said let me know if the pressure is too hard, more is not always better.
After the awesome massage I asked him what style of massage he practiced and he said he uses about 5 different styles. He said the important part is understanding the body first and then moving on to use specific techniques. I like Dan's holistic approach to massage!
I will be back. As a matter of fact, after this review I'm scheduling another appointment. Oh and the rates are totally reasonable! $80 for 55 minutes!

I had a great massage here over the weekend by Jennifer, one of the owners. It was one of the best massages I have had. The building is located in a business cluster so it was a little hard to find but the massage was great. They have a great first 30 day offer you should check out. Jennifer really understood what I needed and my body felt great afterwards. Just don't go expecting La Belle Day Spa or anything since the decor is much simpler but the massage itself was fantastic!

I've had three massages at Baysix now; two with Christopher and one with Jen. All three left me feeling ultra-relaxed and rejuvenated. Their meticulous attention to the details of each client's massage experience, peaceful atmosphere and talent of the therapists have me hooked. They even use massage lotion instead of oils to prevent you from needing a shower before you return to the office after a mid-day getaway. You might initially come in for the fabulous first month special, but you'll want to keep coming back for months and years to come.

I have gone to Baysix twice. The new client 30 day special allowed me to get an hour massage for only $55, which is a steal. Most other places in the peninsula, especially in Palo Alto would cost almost twice the price. Baysix is a cute, small place that looks like it used to be a dentist office. It smells really good inside and it's very clean. It's definetly not a ritzy day spa like some of the other places in the peninsula, but they get they job done. Everyone is really nice and not snotty at all. My masseuse, Andrea is great. She worked out all of the tension in my back and neck. I felt like I got a lot for only $55- it was definetly a specialized massage based on my own needs, not just a basic oil rub down. I recommend Baysix to anyone that wants a good massage with great customer service without feeling intimidated.

I was really impressed with BaySix. My husband bought me a massage for Valentine's Day (my first massage ever!) it turned out that my therapist had called in sick that day. When Jennifer called to inform me, she suggested that I could reschedule with a male therapist (the only other therapist available). I wasn't totally sure I was comfortable with this for my very first massage and figured I'd just have to reschedule for another day. Jennifer recognized my hesitancy right away and did everything in her power to find me a female therapist. When there were none available, she called me back and offered to do the massage herself. I was so impressed and thankful to still get my Valentine's Day massage! I really appreciated the effort made and the massage was amazing!! They are super friendly and really take care of you. The whole experience was great. :)

I have tried most of the massage places in Menlo Park and Palo Alto, and always try out the spas whenever we vacation, but never found anything spectacular. The first massage I had at Baysix was the most spectacular massage I've ever had in my entire life. I had always had a little knot under my shoulder blade that even consistent chiropractic work for over a year never solved. Within my first two massages with Mike, it was gone completely!! It was absolutely incredible and Jennifer is so nice and very accomodating. I'm never, ever going anywhere else. A+, and worth every penny!

I received a nice gift card for a massage at BaySix for my birthday. It was easy to make an appointment (got a call back pomptly after leaving a message). Their website is very well organized and professional. Funny thing was that I was sure I new about where they were located but got turned around.... they are on the west side of El Camino Real! I didn't think that there were any businesses there. Tucked in with some chiropractic offices I finally arrived just in time for the appointment. If you are looking for a trendy day spa where you can purchase buddha statues, linen pants, and aroma therapy candles this is not your place. If you are looking for a no-nonsense super massage from someone who listens to you then you have come to the right place.
BaySix doesn't do much to advertise. They can afford to rely on word of mouth to spread the word. I'm happy to help.

Baysix provides a consistently thorough massage in a spa-like atmosphere. Their first month special is terrific: as many massages as you like for $45! After the first month, you can prepurchase 10 massages at a time for $62.50 each. I'm on my second batch of 10 and try to visit at least every 2 weeks. Baysix is truely professional and I can count on them to provide me with a satisfying massage every time I visit.

Its a family owned business and they really care about their clients. Decor is very pleasant and so are the people that work there. If something specific is hurting you should go to Jennifer she's the owner. Her husband is good if you want something really harsh, and everyone else is excellent as well. We started going there monthly now and we love it.

It wasn't that the massage was bad, or even that it wasn't good... I just had never had a massage with another guy. So to tell the truth I just wasn't able to enjoy it. I felt rigged and uncomfortable the whole time.
What sold me on this place was that they actually cared. When I explained my schitzuation they didn't bat an eye. They offered me a second massage free of charge without any question. I was shocked.
My second massage was amazing, it was the most relaxing and therapeutically beneficial experience I've had.
I highly recommend Baysix. Not just because of my unbelievable massage but because they were willing to make things right and bring me back at their own expense to make sure I had a positive experience. Triple A++!!!
