This place rockS!
Its a great place for 2 reasons, Food and Parties!
the food is great, seafood, stone crabs, fish, etc.
the fish spread is amazing, and they have a snapper filet broiled with banana slices with a ginger cream sauce that is amazing. Also the "maduros" or fried plantains are the best in miami, not greasy or slimy justtt perfect!
party time.. this place has a huge outside patio now with a huge cover and fans. when they throw parties they really pack the house and there is lighting and Djs and bands. the drink specials are great and you can even buy a bottle and save loads of $$$$ cheapp bottles, always a good time.
right by the marina and water, great veiw and plenty of parking. December 25th is the next party.. after christmas in the day with the family the night begins at Bayside hut. -

Can't believe I am actually the first to review this joint.
We have never actually set out to go to this place, it is more a place where we end up after windsurfing all afternoon or swimming laps next door.
It is nothing more than a dive, open air, the food is basic stuff but it serves its purpose.
Definitely worth a try, the Mahi Mahi sandwich is inconsistent but usually acceptable and their calamari is OK. Wash it down with some good cold beer and it is a good replacement for all those calories burnt Board sailing off of Virginia Key or riding those 50 miles on your bike just to get to the lighthouse.
No pretenses here, basic food, blah service, OK prices...
Good company and a great attitude will ensure you have a good time here. -

This place has recently changed its name to Vero's Lounge and Restaurant. I had ever been before and was expecting a hut with average prices. This was not that it is a bit more expensive than average. I had the mahi mahi sandwich and it was good no complaints. The view is not impressive. I totally prefer Scotty's!

Just went to kill some time before eating somewhere else. The place is OK at best. Drinks and food are on the high side. Not much of a value here

I've been to this place twice for lunch. Both times, we were the only people in the joint. This worried me a bit. Noon on a beautiful Saturday and the staff outnumbered our party by 2 or 3. That being said, I did enjoy the food. I went with the grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich. I thought this would be the 'healthy' option, but between the super fried fries and the oiled up fish, it wasn't so healthy. That being said, the food was still really good. The service wasn't the best and our water glasses were empty a few times. Despite being on the beautiful Virginia Key, there isn't much of a view. The restaurant shares property with a marina, so you get a look at a lot of stacked boats and mangroves. The price is right, so I'd definitely say this is a good place to spot in after a day out at the beach.

Once upon a time... Bayside was a good place to eat with good food. Then a year ago a new owner took over the restaurant. Now it's overpriced, over salted garbage. Do yourself a favor skip it.

The place is a dump. My family went there on a saturday night. The smell of diesel fuel wafted in the air. The restaurant was giant and empty. Also, the entrees were in the $27 range. We got there and immediately left. I would not recommend going there.

This place should probably only be rated 4 stars but I'm giving it the extra star for the atmosphere. I took my grandmother here for a birthday lunch a couple weeks ago and she loved it. She loves that Scotty's (a different restaurant we go to) is on the water but the food is always very average there so I thought I'd change things up. I had been to this place a few times before and knew the food is great and the servers are friendly. I was surprised (and a little worried, to be honest with you) that they had changed owners but hoped for the best. I wasn't disappointed, and neither was she. The food was great and our server was really nice- even threw in desert for free. As previous reviews mentioned there is a stage and music/partying later in the afternoon/evening but I'm not sure when. It's a great casual place to have lunch or dinner on the way back from the beach or on the way.
I believe it's the left turn (heading into Key Biscayne) after the turn for the Rusty Pelican. -

I've been to Bayside Hut twice, years apart. My second time was recently (last weekend) for a family member's birthday party. Both times, I've been disappointed. While the idea is creative- an outdoor place with a stage and several bars in the middle of Key Biscayne (basically-inside the parking of the Marine Stadium) that over looks boats parked in the marina and the beautiful water of Key Biscayne; in reality, it is hit or miss. My main issue is that the people who work there are fairly rude. Obviously, I wouldn't expect for such a casual place to be a paragon of good service; however, some common decency would be nice. The other major issue is parking- once the actual gravel parking is filled up, you have to park on a combination of sand, weeds that haven't been cut and just a touch of gravel. For people who don't own or drive SUV's this is quite a pain, especially on the rainy summer nights we've been having! The drinks are a little expensive for their size (I ordered a beer- normal $5 price; my friend ordered whiskey on the rocks- a small plastic cup cost her $10). Overall, the stage is good, and the vibe is great when a band is playing, but it loses points for the rudeness of the employees and the parking issues.
