LOVE IT! I have been eating at Bayside cafe twice week for about a year now and I am always VERY happy with my food & service!
The staff has all been a part of the restaurant for years and they are very friendly and efficient. It can be a packed house and you still get exceptional speedy service.
I love the variety of their menu as well, they have something to make everyone happy, and its all delicious and fresh! I have taken lots of friends to lunch at Bayside and everyone of them has become a regular!! The location is very understated, but an amazing place! Must try! 8)
Enjoyed an okay tasting breakfast here recently. Service was really attentive... and there was no wait mid-morning on a Sunday-- a BIG plus. Large menu with all your standard breakfast and sandwich options. My waffle wasn't anything spectacular but it wasn't bad. And with 2 eggs and 4 slices of bacon for $7.75, it was a bargain. In fact, for me it was way too much food. Should also mention that the coffee was pretty good.
In sum, not a whole lot to offer as far as atmosphere goes... but portions and prices are hard to beat.
I was fortunate to be treated to breakfast by my sis, her bf, and their visiting friends when I took them to Bayside Café on their visit here over last weekend. Perfect location-wise, as we were just making a breakfast stop here on our way up from SFO to Sonoma County; convenient as it's right off 101 freeway. Lots of selection, so everyone was happy with their food. I had the sourdough French toast--wow, they're not holding back here with their use of very sour sourdough. I would have liked to have some sweeter syrup to offset the sourness; however, I really appreciated the pure maple syrup. Along with the French toast I also had a side of country potatoes; not bad, albeit I have had better. My sis had the pumpkin pancakes--beautiful flavors with balanced spices, as well as balanced texture between heft and lightness. I'm looking forward to another visit here, at some point.
My family and I have been going to Bayside Cafe for many years and we absolutely love this place. The food comes quick, hot and plentiful! Rigo never let's your coffee cup get below half full before he is there.
The service is the best. Everybody helps out. If someone who is not "your waitperson" walks by and you need something they will get it right away!
Alise and her parents are so friendly. The remember you and treat you like part of their family. We will continue to come here until they kick us out!
Picked up some late lunch on a weekday on my first ever visit to Sausalito.
Egg salad sandwich with side salad $7.75
Clam chowder cup $2.75
The prices were very right for this comfy cafe. The egg salad tasted like chopped eggs with mayo. There was no taste. But it was a big sandwich on nice bread. The salad was a good portion with nice ingredients. The soup was really good, had shredded carrots. The food was pretty but bland, but that's what condiments are for.
I'd come back here to pick up stuff for a picnic. I'd ask for extra pepper and chili pepper.
Bayside has definitely earned a top spot on my list of places that do huevos rancheros right! Perfectly cooked eggs layered on top of perfectly cooked black beans on top of corn tortillas. And served with extra flour tortillas on the side. Definitely my idea of complete breakfast happiness.
The menu here is extensive for a diner, hopefully I will branch out beyond the huevos in the future, but who am I kidding. Apparently they also do a great breakfast combo (bacon/eggs/french toast). Actually, I think the words I heard used were "perfect french toast". Bayside is a cozy, welcoming diner and the staff is very friendly. They also have plenty of tv's if you go there hoping to watch a game.
It's worth going out of your way to seek this place out. Once you've tried it, you'll want to become one of the regulars.
Quite average. Service excellent. Nothing special.
I have had breakfast here many times over the past 10 years. If you want consistancy in a diner this is it ! The people working there are always friendly and accomodating and the food is always above expectations.
This is not a foo- foo place , just a great place to get a great meal. If you have got kids...so much the better !
Cute little diner-style cafe in Sausalito. Bayside Cafe is not on the main drag of this town's tourist scene, so I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. However, if you are hungover north of the Golden Gate and want to cower in a corner where no one can see you (or if you're with young children....or hey, ALL OF THE ABOVE!), this is the place!
The menu is extensive; almost a bit overwhelming. I would recommend examining the menu dish by dish and ponder which combination of breakfast or lunch will best satisfy you. The bloody mary's are cheap (pretty sure it's a weekend special) and the coffee flows like the river of life.
I was especially impressed with the blueberry pancakes, because the berries were actually baked into the batter (not sitting on top of the dish like a glop of jelly). When walking into this place, you might not expect much. However, the above par breakfast and excellent service is sure to impress.
Went there again on Sunday for lunch with a group (8 total). Our friends remarked how surprisingly good the service was. (We knew that!) The food is always good, too. My wife likes the vegetarian omelet, and I like the corned beef hash (even for lunch). And my cup of coffee is always kept full and hot! Love this place!

one of my favorite places to have a late breakfast/early lunch. The Bayside is a family place, owned and working staff!
The menu is extensive and they will always make changes to an item for your liking. I highly recommend the Samonlito Omelette with jalapenos, the heuvos Rancheros are amazing and so is the i've got the Bleus Burger.
A great coffee bar and fresh juice bar top this place off.
this place is so lovely. i was introduced by my sister and the same awesome people have worked there for 8+ years. it's like a little family. the food is most excellent and my fav is the huevos rancheros. with that said, i've had just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. not even once.
the atmosphere is cozy and warm tingly. families, singles, couples, men reading the sunday paper, a lot like your favorite diner. but better. they have a nice outside area (that's heated!) as well which is quite nice.
they make the most bomb fruit smoothies and pastries as well.
anytime i'm in sausalito, i'm going here.
Waking up from a night out with fellow yelpers, I had a pain in my stomach. It gurgled, rumbled, it seemed to talk to me... all just saying "Feed me. Feed me now. Bitch." Perhaps it was all those beers I had the night before that relieved me of any pain, sensibility or really any sanity, but I was ready for breakfast. Andy F and his bf were going to take me to Muir Woods and said they knew the perfect spot to go before hand. Since I was pretty much at their mercy, I replied with a nod and I, by myself, (ahem.. Joe C), hopped in to the shower and we were off. We were off over the bridge and not through the woods when we settled down by the famous house boats. My hunger was nearly over taking me at this point and there for insanity was coming soon. We walked in to this small, friendly place, plenty of smiles on the staff and even better a lot of smiles on the faces of the people sitting at the tables and booths. Sweet. That's a good sign to me. We plopped our rears at a booth and I poured longing looks at all the menu. I was going big time. I got their omelet with their chicken apple wood smoked sausage, zucchini, avocados, cheese, hash browns on the side and of course, because I was insane, an order of 3 pancakes. Told you I was hungry and insane.
When my pile of food arrived I was thanking Sweet Jebus for its appearance. I quickly moved from savoring the deliciousness to inhaling my food. The omelet was cooked light and fluffy and stuffed with all those tasty ingredients, but more importantly not heavy. The pancakes were a little firm and a little dry... but nothing five trees worth of maple syrup couldn't fix. I think I actually finished my meal of two before Andy and his bf called it quits on theirs. Was I stuffed? Nope, just pleasantly full, which was good because we were going to hike a little in Muir Woods and I needed all the energy I could. Prices were good. Service was quick and spot on and the food was tasty. Yes, it is all the way over in Sausalito. Would I come here and skip all the luscious breakfast places in the city? Nope. However if you are headed or in the area, I would for sure stop on by, their friendly ways will make you feel at home... if not the food probably will.
Liked this place, though Adam found ice-cold spots in his fried chicken. I had the foccaccia chicken-and-mushroom sandwich with aioli and caramelized onions. Excellent. I also loved how they did the fries -- all crinkly and crisp. Service was almost too attentive. Very convenient to the Issaquah Dock, where we went to go see an art show at the houseboats. I'd go back!
Family friendly locals spot. I had the huevos rancheros - black beans, avocado, and sour cream. Yum. Husband enjoyed the good sized biscuit and gravy. The desserts are pretty sad - I tried the pumpkin pie & it the crust was practically raw. Not good. Friendly service, good for kids - we dined with our infant daughter in her stroller. I think we will make it a regular spot. Nice locale with the houseboats in the back on the Marina. If you have out of town guests I recommend talking a walk along the marina and checking out the brightly colored houseboats that Sausalito is known for.
Went here for the first time this afternoon and I was quite impressed. We've been looking for a good weekend brunch place near Mill Valley and this is it! Great diner atmosphere and the price is right. I had the Super Duper meal number 1 (2 eggs, bacon and toast) for only $4.95. It was good and noisy so I didn't feel bad when my 18 month old started to squeal. Not sure anyone else noticed. The waitress was friendly and brought crayons and paper for my little guy. This will definitely be a place to go again.
I love this place every time my mom comes into town I take her here. I love their burgers and salads, nice big portions. The best thing on the menu is the Mexican omelet though, simple but a must, the sausage is amazing. I love how it is baby friendly too. The staff is great!! I usually wind up with a cutie named Daniel, he is so helpful and fast.
"have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?"....self yes....two days of instense road biking....same fifty mile sprints through camino alto and paradise loop....starting south beach....previous daily rides, interval training and hill climbs for months.....skin charred from burning sun....white dusting of sweat to salt covered....dripping, exhausted, and geared up from helmet to cleats.....
passing bayside cafe....u-turn back through parking lot and peek....rather cozy diner, but filled max capacity....hovering over outside door....glancing of menu and hunger calling....slow entrance...light quiet click clack of plastic cleats upon floor....waiting for assistance and inquiring about breakfast.....requesting one of breakfast entrees....all tossed between toast side and tossed into a bag, box or napkin.....self refusing to sit inside amongst patrons....feeling nasty and funky....host or waitress informing of a breakfast sandwich not on menu, but capable of making....a delight and accepting....hot english muffin toasted....piled thick layers of eggs, fatty sausage link split and oozing bubbling melting cheese....contained inside perfect sized paper boxing.....total being a bargain under $four...minus a pair of dimes and pennies....gladly handing $five for meal..atleast clean from ziploc wallet....filled with glee...click clack out to parking lot sidewalk....enjoying most wonderful breakfast sandwich fresh, hot and tasting fine.....
This is my favorite breakfast place. The service is fast, and the food selection is huge. I generally stick to the breakfasts. I love a place that has non-greasy scrambled eggs and sausages like I remember from being a kid. Speaking of kids - bring them along. They love this place. Ambiance is "diner-style" so don't expect fancy, but the prices aren't fancy either.
I like this little diner. Not the easiest place to find, as its tucked away next to a bait and tackle shop and mike's bikes. Not only do they have food for sale, but tank tops and t-shirts are displayed randomly across the diner as well. The burgers are good, not the best i've ever had, but the onion rings are extremely impressive. They also do milkshakes which I'll have to come back for...
This is a pretty decent diner-food place. Nothing spectacular, just what you'd expect. They serve good sized portions, so you won't leave hungry.
Food is ok and i used to visit the place each time I visited Sausalito with my family. However, I recently had a bad experience with service. They charged 18% gratitude without notifying me or writing anywhere that this is thier policy.
Be ware!
Love this place. I want to buy it, make it a little cooler and spend my days here :)
This place ROCKS!
