Review from Torrance H.
Eureka, CA
BEST MALL EVER.
There are no shitty mallrat teenagers, no crowds. Local elderly people shamble back and forth through the main thoroughfare for exercise. The cookie-cutter mall stores that inhabit this place are slowly dying off to be replaced by locally-owned stores. It is a peaceful place to watch the slow decay of corporate America. -

Humboldt County, CA
Yet another shopping mall in its death throes, fallen victim to the information age.
It's pretty quiet inside, and far from crowded. Though there are still one or two anchors left. Here's a link to the directory:

Sadly, the Borders is closing down. It's not that I'm even really a fan of Borders, but I'm disappointed that the one place in the county that has a decent variety of affordable new books is going out of business.
Aside from that, like other reviewers have said, the place is fairly clean. The deco is straight out of the roaring 80's. Eureka's economy seems to be stuck a decade or two in the past. This is the only town where Blockbuster is still doing passable business. But back to the mall, OMFG they still have a Tilt arcade! I had to walk in for a moment to smell the old carpeting and experience the warm stuffy air as the one bored young attendant wandered aimlessly amongst the unused machines.
There is a small food court (small in terms of selection) with Sbarro's, a taqueria, an ice-cream place etc etc.
The mall is definitely in the process of dying a slow death, but neurons are still firing and the body of the Bayshore is still kicking and jerking sporadically for the time being. You won't find much in the way of high-end fashion, or high-end anything for that matter, but hey, it's Eureka. There are enough staple retailers for the place to be designated as a "mall" and there you have it. -

Reno, NV
For a small town like Eureka this mall is perfect. The staff is nice, there's a shop for just about everyone, and a variety of food in the food court. Miss Sweetriver Saloon, Hot dog on a Stick and Arby's though.
There's no reason to be downrating this mall since it's the only one Eureka's got and it suits their purposes just fine! Hell I live in Reno now and there are some things I can't get here that I can get at the Bayshore Mall. -

Fremont, CA
This mall is never crowded, but hey, you're in Eureka. This mall is, however, home to the world's best Ross. Seriously, I usually don't find anything at most Ross,' but I always find at least 10 things there.
Also home to Victoria's Secret, Pacsun, Zumiez, Boot Barn, a dollar store, Kohl's and my grandmother's favorite, Christopher and Bank. -
Review from cherie c.
I was fascinated by this mall. It's got a design straight out of the 80s, with shiny gold elements and everything. Half the spaces are empty. I must defend it, though; it might look worn but it was clean. I used the restrooms and they were nice.
But what I loved most was the post-apocalyptic feel of the remaining stores. Local businesses set up shop in vacated chains. You can recognize the proprietary design of the Gap or EB in the facade. But they've covered it up or painted it to make it their own. A bank of what might have been four or more stores is now gutted and filled with air bounce machines for Bounce-a-palooza. I only wish my childhood mall had offered such a thing!
We live further out in the boonies than this place, so it was nice to be able to browse GameStop, Borders, & Bed Bath & Beyond (I never thought I'd miss a chain store). There are a couple of anchor department stores, too.
So if you live in the area and want to try on or see an item in person before you buy (instead of all that online shopping), this place can be convenient. If you don't live in the area, skip it. Why would you come to such a beautiful part of the world to shop in mall? -
Review from Theresia D.
Vallejo, CA
This mall is lacking so much potential, but hey look at the location!
This was the third time I had ever been here and I swear the population in here just gets smaller and smaller, lol! I did like their Anchor blue store and they have this one store that sells sports item's and they always have great deals on Steeler's things! Now I will mos def drive 5 hours for that!!!
Oh and let me not forget to mention the mall cop that decided that I was the only person he noticed with their dog in their hands and his lack of english, he made me put my dog in the car....what a jerk!!! -

Sacramento, CA
...and I thought Sacramento's malls were bad. This mall, out of all malls I've ever been to was definitely a mind boggler. From stale fast food to useless appliance stores, I was overwhelmed by its pathetic-ness and post-apocalyptic-ness. I guess everybody around here got to shop online for their stuff cause it's definitely not in the mall.

Review from Callan L.
Eureka, CA
This mall has it all! Broken ceiling tiles, a shitty food court, stuck up baristas and a Claire's!
No, seriously, this mall has very little going for it. Other than being the only real mall in Eureka (maybe Humboldt?), it doesn't make sense that it stays open. Their theater, which was the "cheap" theater, just closed.
The Radio Shack has very little, the Sunglass Hut is overpriced just like it is everywhere else and the local shops seem to promote the pothead ideal that is Humboldt county.
The only mall I've ever seen bongs in, I will give it that.
Their saving grace: Kohls. -

Stockton, CA
In a word "scary." The whole town of Eureka (in my opinion) looks like the Gateway to He--. There are anchor stores in the mall and I do feel sorry for the folks who work there or are responsible for making a profit. If you are brave enough to get out of your car-be very mindful of your surroundings, a personal alarm and body armor and you will be fine. Just leave your valuables somewhere safe. To be fair- the one star is actually more for the town-can you yelp an entire town??!!

LOL this mall lacks soooooooooooooooooooooooo much, cleanliness included. I've been here many times since I was a kid and there's no stores I would ever shop at here and everybody in the town wear's hippie clothes anyways so I guess they'll never have a good place to shop come around this joint.

Eureka, CA
It's the only mall this area has! HA! with that said I feel bad. This mall pretty much sucks. Weird folks (locals with mental issues) walking around, employees that just don't give a flyin' ass about you (hey I should know.. I worked here when I was going to HSU.. easiest job ever and I would hardly be at the shop and always on a break) Ahhh... they did have great sales here though.. only because they couldn't move merchandise fast enough.. score on gap goodies! yay... I had a good time f'in' around here but to be a shopper..errr... not the best place especially when you think of a mall... good luck and happy huntin'..you are going to need it

Review from Ben R.
San Francisco, CA
Minus three stars for being full of people from Eureka. Two stars for having a toy store where no one gives a fuck and always has hard-to-find shit on sale because everyone thinks its "weird"! But it's basically the ONLY place within a few hundred miles to buy anything that the rest of the country knows about...Hot Topic, Borders, Gap, etc. Everything else in here is pretty shitty.

Review from Jeff A.
Folsom, CA
Two stars is generous for this mall. Not many stores, it was like a ghost town inside! But for the area it's not bad. If your a college student it has poor hangout potential, but the necessities are there and prices are cheaper then smaller ma and pa stores!

San Francisco, CA
Sad, sad, sad place to shop. The Bayshore Mall is WAY past it's glory days. The local shops offer way more variety at good prices.
