I love Bayshore- Best gym in Braintree. The classes are great; especially spin class. The gym is relaxed but still upbeat.
I was dissappointed that they took the sauna out of the womans locker room and it is a bit expensive ($45 a month) so right now i go to a gym in Quincy (for $20 a month) but at some point when i have the money may switch back.
They also let college students put there memberships on hold when they are away and activate them again when home- i have not found many gyms that do that.

Best Gym in the braintree area, i've found nothing that compares to it. Actually plays music conducive to lifting weights not the pop sissy stuff. It will blow your mind how large this gym is. Although its on the slightly expensive side, therefore i stay with golds for now just because it saves me $10 a month.

I was a member here when I lived in Braintree, and probably still would be if I hadn't moved. The BAC is a bit on the high range of prices for South Shore gyms (about $45 per month), but offers a wide array of facilities for its members. There's two enire decks of cardio machines, offering whatever type of cardio workout you'd want. There's literally ACRES of freeweights, and a substantial number of Nautilus-type machines as well. Truly, you will not ever have to wait to do anything here. They also have a boxing studio, which I tried once and loved (though it kicked my butt!), so give that a shot if you have a chance. The aerobics studio looked nice, and apparently the classes are good, but sadly I never got to take a class. They do seem to be lacking in space to warm up, do ab work, etc. The one area where there are mats have no mirrors, and there are no balls, small weights or other apparatus available outside of the aerobics classes. The staff is nice enough. They have a juice bar, they sell lotto tickets, and the locker rooms are clean. They have an annual 5K/10K Road Race/Walk that is a lot of fun for anyone on any level that was probably my favorite memory of the BAC. The biggest pain with this place is getting there. Yes, there's a ton of parking, but in order to get there, you have to go through the Braintree rotary and past the Braintree T station and all the shopping plazas in that area. If you're someone who likes to work out after work, getting there at 5pm is pretty impossible, and rather frustrating. But it's still the best, most comprehensive gym in the Braintree area, so I still recommend it.
