Located in Yarmouth right off of 6A  these two courses seem like two different worlds.   The second course, the links course (or blue course)  is located on land that a few years back was the town dump.  Now it is is wispy sea grass laden hills with beautiful breezy fairways reminiscent of the old courses in England, Ireland and Scotland.  The type that will be played this weekend in Carnoustie, Scotland iat the British Open.

I had never played golf on a links course.  In the United States we don't tend to gravitate toward the old style golf courses like in the Old World.   Links golf has always fascinated me though with it's bigger nod to playing nature and not just the course.  The links at Bayberry Hills takes all of the traditions and places them right here on our doorstep.  It is not only a great and beautiful course, it is well worth the fees and the drive.   This is one of the most beautiful and challenging courses I have ever played.  The only reason for 4 stars is that it can tend to be a bit unfair at times.

If you want to walk (or ride) and play a beautiful 9 hole links course while challenging your ideas of what golf is or should be go to Bayberry Hills.  This is the way golf was meant to be.

My next stop will be Highland Links in Truro.  Sure to be another fun challenge.
