Review from Anita W.
I have to be honest...I had LOW expectations for this hotel. While the reviews were good I just couldn't believe that the hotel would have a $79 rate and be decent considering all the other hotels were quoting upwards of $150 / night. Granted I got a special discount through a group rate but still....
I was here for 3 days, 2 nights and I have to say the value was terrific. The staff checked us in fast and we happily grabbed a complimentary cookie and apple. The rooms were spacious and above all else, CLEAN. Both days I had some time to use their fitness center which was actually quite nice (with the basic equipment I needed for a sufficient workout). The breakfasts in the morning were pretty good (fresh fruit, pastries, waffles, some premade omelets to nuke in the microwave, yogurt, cereals, etc.). Best of all, you don't have to pay for parking or internet. We spent most of our time in SF and chose not to stay in the city because most hotels charge $50+ / night on top of their steep rates. Bay Landing was only about 20 minutes away from the city, a way better deal, and very comfy. I'll definitely be back next time I'm up in the Bay area. -

So far so good.
My husband I chose this hotel everytime we came to san francisco. The view is great if you have a room faced to the sea.
It's very clean. and they have free shuttle between hotel and airport.
They also offer free parking and free wifi here! -

Bay Landing Hotel you deserve five stars. It was the best experience hubby and I had staying at hotels. You are up there if not better than some of our strip hotels here. The front desk staff was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. You ask and they have an answer. The rooms were always clean when needed. Complimentary breakfast, wifi, parking, fridge and in room microwave, and the cleanest hotel gym. What more does a person need?
If you want a beautiful view of the bay you have it. It's all there, husband and I will definitely be back when we visit.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Jenny B.
Stayed here for last weekend's trip to SF for a wedding, this hotel's location was superb. It's only 15-20minutes from the city and about 30minutes or so from Silicon Valley, so definitely strategic. I was worried that the noise from the plane landing was going to annoy me, but I couldn't hear anything from the room. I love the view, seeing the planes landing at SFO and watching the sunrise and sunset.
The other complimentary things that made this hotel great were FREE wifi, FREE breakfasts from 6.30-10am(from bagels to free freshly squeezed orange juice), FREE parking, Fridge & microwave inside the room, and clean GYM with towels provided in each equipment. There's El Torito beside the hotel and Benihana on the other side, so food is not a problem, driving 5 minutes you can eat at the great Shabu House.
Seriously, I'll be coming back to this hotel if I ever visit SF again, I can't stop liking this hotel and I don't usually fond staying at hotels. Price wise is not expensive either, so totally worth it. -

Great place to stay. Christina saved us from a bad choice that we had made down the street by finding us a room - with a bay view! It was great; noise was no problem at all. You can sit and watch planes land and take off from your room as well as from the restaurants located right next to the hotel (both of which were good). Free wi-fi, good breakfast, free shuttle to airport, and easy access to the BART station.
Here's a hint: You can take the shuttle to the Fairfield hotel and walk to the Millbrae BART station to save yourself some money. It's $4 more each way if you go to the SFO BART in the International terminal. -

Last night (October 16, 2011), my friend and I checked in with my "service dog." I have no complaints other than the after hours, front desk clerk was not informed of whether it is possible to obtain restaurant food (delivered) or not on a 24 hour basis. The room was nice and generically so. To be honest, I wished the Embassy Suites weren't sold out already when I booked with the Bay Landing because they offer so much more in terms of space and breakfast for significantly less of a rate. I would not seek this hotel out again, to be honest.

Review from Yee Gan O.
I stayed here on my recent trip to SF. Due to the astronomical costs of hotels downtown as well as ridiculous fees for parking your car, I always stay near the airport and use BART to get to the city.
Bay Landing is located on Bayshore Highway just south of the airport - there are quite a few hotels along this stretch and you can understand why - minutes from the airport, good access to 101 and 280 via 380 and lots of eating, dining and entertainment options if you have a car.
Bay Landing seems to have a slightly less corporate air about it although the service is still top notch. Parking is free and check in was smooth and painless. I asked if they had a spare room with a bay view as I love aeroplanes and you can see planes on final approach into SFO. Well, they gave me a ground floor sea facing view but it was officially a non view room (and price!) but I had a good view of the landing planes.
There's free wifi access as well as a public computer in the lobby with internet access. A complementary breakfast is included in the price with things like fresh fruit available.
If you like planes like me, there's a bay trail which runs just outside the hotel and you can get some great views of the aircraft.
The best BART station is either Millbrae or I tend to use San Bruno, which is right next to the Shops for Tanforan Mall. An unbelievable (to a Londoner) $1 to park your car in the BART car park all day or it's free after 3pm. The Mall has some good eating options as well as a large movie theatre.
A nice option for an airport hotel. -

I have stayed here twice now in 4 years and every time I come here I'm in love! Included in the hotel fee is parking, breakfast that includes freshly made waffles and hard boiled eggs and fruit, cookies and apples at the front desk all the time, computer and printer access, and generally friendly service. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in the area or visiting SF!

After having a nightmare experience at the ComfortInn-611 SanBruno (Never go there unless you want to get mugged and stay hungry no fast food or anykind of eatery: Just liquors stores with bars on the windows and seedy hookers). Who charged 105$ for their stinky room
THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME. They are kind, clean, affordable, knowledgeable. They are in a place where there are restaurants open and other hotels. Breakfast so many options. charged 110$ --- So worth it! -

Without a doubt, one of the best hotels that has a great view and location Ive ever been to! Visited my Bf last year and we got this hotel from expedia because its one of the cheapest, descent hotel they offered at that time. As soon as we got their, we asked them if we could get a bay view room since expedia don't have that option and we are willing to pay for additional amount. The lady gave us a half city/half bay view room free of charge! The room was spacious and looks very comfy. Bed was pretty huge and comfy. Bathroom is pretty big as well. Room service is great, always keep things neat and clean.
What makes this hotel great is the amenities! Free high speed internet, free shuttle ride to the airport, free parking, and best of all, free breakfast every morning until 8 am! No 4 star hotel can beat that! Again, great view and location... Elephant bar is just a 3 minute walking distance from the hotel.
Highly recommended to anybody visiting the Bay area! -

[Okay, first, the price]
Affordable. A last minute room reservation for a two-bed room cost us $89/night. The room comes equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, mini-safe, air conditioner, double-paned windows, and a tv with access to movies on demand and games.
[Services and amenities]
Well, there's a small gym for fitness nuts. It looks out onto the beautiful terrace, which faces the bay. There are elliptical and regular treadmills, stationary bicycles, and a weight lifting station. There are no free weights. I'm not really into going to the gym when I'm on a weekend vacation, so I didn't use it at all.
I was more interested in the fact that the hotel provides free wired and wireless internet access in all its rooms, an internet-capable computer that's hooked up to a color printer for visitor use, and provides a kick ass breakfast.
There are no scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast, but the hotel does provide pancakes, fruit, cereals, English muffins, bagels, muffins, three different juices, coffee, and allows you to make your own waffles.
[Other considerations]
The hotel is only down the street (about 5 minutes away) from the San Francisco Airport. It is also just a hop away to Daly City and San Francisco.
If you're driving around the Bay Area and don't want to pay San Francisco prices for a hotel room, then I would suggest considering Bay Landing. -

Placer County, CA
Just had my 3rd overnight stay here since 2006. This hotel is the best SFO airport area value I've had after trying more than one dozen other hotels over the past 30 years. Really for $139 / nite, you get a clean room, that is large enough for 2 adults, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is big, the shower pressure is strong. The breakfast bar has lots of variety for a self-serve, no frills set-up.
You get 7 days free car parking in the hotel lot for one nite stay.
Downside: The airport shuttle bus serves 5 hotels. The vehicle is too small during peak passenger times. It comes thru the airport only once or twice per hour. If you arrive @ SFO after 9:00pm, you take a taxi - The shuttle is off-line. -

Ok so I actually created an account to review this place. We stayed here last night and this hotel was bad. The front desk staff when we checked in were completely rude. The rooms need to be updated badly (the beds were so uncomfortable ) Also, we paid extra for the stay and park ( 150 which was way too much for the quality of room and hotel service) so when it was time to get the pass they refused to give it to us. This place is a joke! Please don't waste your money and stay here. There's a marriott down the way..that's a much better bet. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE.

The best hotel value in San Francisco. The decor and atmosphere of the rooms are equal to the best 5 star hotels with a friendly staff, plus it has great views of the bay. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed with a great bathroom, microwave, mini fridge, TV and video game player.
They don't have a restaurant, but there are several restaurants within walking distance and they offer a good complimentary continental breakfast, along with free parking.
They offer a free courtesy car to the airport and its only a 15 minute drive to the city or take the BART.
Yes, it doesn't have the cachet of staying in the city, but for a wonderful stress free place to kick back, this is the best place in the city. -

Silicon Valley, CA
For $99 dollars I got a great room on the top floor corner. With a very early flight the next morning I wanted to be close to SFO, and this place fit the bill. For someone who loves to watch the planes at SFO, my room could not be beat, as I had a window with a view of the airport, and the other windows looking on to the runways. Wow, it was great. The room was very clean, and though the bed wasn't the most comfortable I've been on, it was fine. Keep your windows closed at night since the restaurants nearby have 2:00 AM deliveries...

Redondo Beach, CA
The hotel service is nice. They are friendly and family owned! The hotel room is equipped with even microwave. Price is reasonable and rooms are roomy and nice. Overall, very clean and provided free high speed wired and wireless internet and even a nice computer with color printer (pretty nice and updated computer, not the crappy type) down in the lobby hall. Free breakfast downstairs dining area with newspaper at the door. They also have a small gym area, which I didn't feel like going for a visit on this trip. Free shuttle service 4am - 12am from SFO (BART station as well) to the hotel, only 5 minutes away, very convenience. I would definitely give a 5 stars if the price would be even cheaper, then it would be a great deal.
Conclusion: It was well-worth of my money! -
Review from RAD D.
Paradise, CA
This hotel is simply amazing for the price. It may be the best hotel for the price I have ever stayed at. My wife and I recently stayed here for 3 days on our anniversary.
Price:
A king bed suite for two people was only $99 a night. This price included wifi, cable, a very nice continental breakfast which I will get to later, and very spacious rooms.
Cleanliness:
Our room was absolutely immaculate. The sheets, towels and blankets were unstained and practically new looking. The fridge was smell free and clean, the carpets were pristine, the bathroom almost glittered. Housekeeping was swift, polite, and very thorough. The decor for the entire hotel is very nicely done and classy looking, nothing looks shabby at all here.
Continental Breakfast:
They offer a very nice complementary breakfast each morning from 6:00 am until 10:00 am (each day we came down they were still serving after 10:00 as well). Just some of the things the breakfast includes: freshly made waffle mix for you to make in the very easy to use waffle machines, fresh fruit, pancakes, fresh bagels, toast and English muffins, hard boiled eggs, cereal, cottage cheese, coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice, etc, etc.
The room:
The room included a fridge, microwave, wall mounted fan for those of you who need white noise, and nice sized tv. The bed was very comfortable. The size of the room was spacious enough for both my wife and I to hang around in and not feel like we were jammed in a closet with our clothes. Speaking of closets, the closet space was plenty for both my wife and I to unpack and hang three days worth of clothes. The table is set up quite nicely to be a distance office if you need to do some work in the room. The bathroom was completely glorious by hotel standards. Plenty of room for both my wife and I to prepare in the morning at the same time. Large shower/bathtub with a full flow shower head rather than the trickle you sometimes get from hotels.
Location:
Bay Landing Hotel is located off of Millbrae past SFO. It is right across the bay from the airport and you can watch the planes come in at night through the fog, a very beautiful sight. You are far enough from the airport that you don't hear the flyover from the planes at all. If you want to use public transit during your stay (I highly recommend it over battling the drivers of San Fran), the Millbrae BART station is only about 5 minutes away from the hotel. There is a Beni Hana right down the road if you don't feel like making the 20 to 30 minute drive into the core of San Fran (our first night in we did this as we had arrived kind of late and wanted to get settled).
The only word of warning I can offer about the location is that it is right down the road from one of the most ticketed intersections in San Francisco. There are automated cameras that will take a picture of you as you cross the intersection if you do so illegally. You will automatically get a $500+ ticket for taking a right on red without stopping, even if the road is deserted in the middle of the night.
Hotel Staff:
Courteous, knowledgeable, professional, attentive and just all around great. I'd say more but what else is there to be said? -

Great hotel and great value for the money! Clean rooms, nice staff, and once they get the Wi-Fi sorted out in some of the rooms, it will be the best. I would certainly recommend to others. Stay here, get the shuttle to the airport and then the BART into the city. Also go to the Elephant Restaurant across the parking lot, nice food!

I stayed here over the holidays and it was perfectly perfect. Good location, convenient to the airport and not far from the city. I did rent a car, and because it was a holiday weekend driving/parking wherever I needed to go wasn't a problem at all.
My room was comfortable, spacious and nice. Very clean too. The fridge wasn't working but I didn't really need it so it wasn't a big deal. I would have liked the hot water to get a little hotter in the shower, but I am definitely a fan of the scorching shower.
Great value for the $. As others have said, the continental breakfast they put out puts all others that I have seen to shame. Plenty of fresh fruits, healthy choices, a waffle maker, various toppings, teas/coffees/cappucinos/ec. This was the real selling point of the hotel for me. It was great to start off the day with a nice breakfast I didn't have to go out and get myself.
Coffee and tea is available throughout the day. Apples are always at the front desk.
I only interacted with the staff 2x during my 3 night stay and both interactions were pleasant.
I paid $81 for my room and if I am in the area again I will absolutely stay here again. Free internet, free breakfast and free parking in very close proximity to SF... yes please. -
Review from Ron P.
South San Francisco, CA
The location was not too bad I had the view of the Bay and the airport. The Continental Breakfast included with the low price came in some what handy, the only thing that was missing was the lack of meat selections there was no bacon, no sausage, and the only egg they had was a cold hard boiled egg. The room's have a microwave and a mini-fridge which also came in handy. They also offer free wifi, and a cable for those older laptops without wifi. The television is not a flat panel tv, but for the price of the room a regular tube tv will do just fine. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

A bit pricey at times, but this is my favorite place to stay when I want to just regain my equillibrium and sense of clarity. This is my local home away from home. Beautiful decor with comfortable rooms and beds. Always clean. High-speed internet is free. great ambiance here. Love the location too.

This was the last hotel of our LA-SF trip before flying back home. The bed was pretty comfy, and can't complain about the free shuttle service to and from the airport. Clean and comfy room. Good size bathroom and complementary breakfast. You even have a microwave inside the hotel room. How cool is that! Highly recommend this hotel to anybody and we'll stay here again.

San Francisco, CA
I came here for an event on Sunday. This is a cute little hotel. The suites are pretty nice. They've got a cute little kitchen and sitting area. I do wish the hotel served food all day long and didn't take a break between lunch and dinner, but most hotels do that, so I guess that's the norm. They've got a cute patio area outside where you can chill and smoke. A nice little hotel if you wanna stay by the airport.

Review from Scott S.
Finding a nice but affordable hotel in the Bay Area can be really difficult. Especially in a convenient location. Bay Landing is one of the few exceptions. The hotel is very fresh and clean, offering a room safe, fridge, and free wi fi in each room. The hidden treasure here is the free breakfast. Unlike most hotels that offer a basic continental breakfast that may include cereal, a few donuts, and a piece of aging fruit (if your lucky!), Bay Landing has a nice buffet including a waffle maker, juices, and pastries just to name a few. The complimentary cookies in the evening are also a nice touch. If you are planning on going into SF, you can take the complimentary shuttle which runs every half hour over to the Bart Station at the airport. Overall, great place for the value 4.5 stars.

This is definitely one of my favorite hotels that I have stayed at. Microwave? Check. Refrigerator? Check. Free parking? Check. Free wi-fi? Check. Free newspaper? Check. Free continental breakfast? Check. Free shuttle to the BART? Check. Workout room? Check. The only thing this place is missing is a swimming pool. This is a family-owned and operated hotel and I was really pleased with the 2+ days I stayed here. It's really clean and the bathrooms aren't ghetto. I also got a king-sized bed that faced the front of the hotel. (I don't think the bay-view would be worth it anyways). I definitely would come back again!

Bay Area, CA
Stayed here for a work conference. Things looked a little rocky at first because I think I was checked in by someone that must have had a rough morning. But when she realized that I wasn't bat $hit crazy for trying to check in at 9:00am, things got a little better. "Ma'am, what I'm trying to tell you is that check-in isn't until noon." And what I'M trying to tell YOU is that my roommate had checked in the night before so I really just need a room key! But once things gotten straightened out, she efficiently gave me my room key and sent me along my merry way.
The halls are a little stuffy so I'm not sure if they use the A/C outside of the rooms. I mean the rooms and lobby are quite comfortable but hefting your bag down the lobby is not so much a treat. But maybe they're saving electricity? The rooms are decent - they are clean and that is most important in my book. A nice bonus was that had a great view of the bay. The continental breakfast is pretty good and way better than most. The patio dining area is pretty sweet and because the hotel is right on the water, they have access to some really nice walking/jogging trails. Conveniently located near a couple of restaurants if happy hour is your thing and near the SFO.
Not sure how much it all cost (on the company dime, after all) but if it's reasonable I would definitely come back. -

Santa Monica, CA
We were really happy with the deal we got on this place. $69 a night. A nicer 3 star hotel. It was right next to the water, which made it cooler, but surrounded by big name chain hotels. Plenty of places to eat nearby and easily accessible to the freeway. They could step it up on the breakfast bar, but hey you get what you pay for. For the price...this is a steal!

San Mateo, CA
My husband and I reserved a room here for our wedding night a month in advance. When we arrived, there was no room for us and we were told it "wasn't my fault" from the receptionist. They sent us to a hotel MUCH farther from the airport with incorrect directions and were not even willing to offer an upgrade to a better room at the other place - in fact, they offered us a much cheaper room than what we had reserved. We had to demand cab fare from the new hotel to the airport. We really felt like the gravity of the situation was not understood or dismissed way too easily. The hotel did not have our room for our WEDDING NIGHT and refused to make it right. I fully recommend the hotel we were sent to, but fully do NOT recommend the Bay Landing.

great place (free wi-fi, a gym, and a yummy breakfast). nice hotel (very clean). cool staff. but a lousy shuttle service. i think they outsource. when we'd get back to SFO from the bart, we'd call for a shuttle and wait, and wait, and wait. we hoped a nearby hotel's shuttle three times, we waited so long! we got this place through expedia and it was well-priced.

San Diego, CA
i'd stay here again. got a deal through expedia, and though we'd never stayed here we took a look at yelp reviews and decided to give the place a try.
parking was relatively easy in their free lot. i was a little uneasy that the parking lot wasn't gated, but it didn't turn out to be a problem. for those of you used to a valet circle, don't look for it @ bay landing.
the lobby is clean and quiet, and their choice of decor is...well, quaint. reminiscent of something you'd see at a b&b in a small town. check in was fast and easy, the staff courteous.
we got to our room on the 3rd floor and the smell of cleaning products was overwhelming. both the hubby and i started sneezing within 10 minutes. after about 30 mins, we called down to change rooms and the staff was incredibly gracious. we moved to a new room that was still a little overpowering, but we cracked open window, cranked up the a/c and went to dinner. by the time we came back, the room was much better.
the beds are comfy and the room is relatively spacious. again, the decor isn't what you might find in a hilton or marriott, but at least everything is clean. we appreciated the free wi-fi, fridge and microwave. the hotel is generous with bath towels and blankets upon request. the continental breakfast is generous compared to other $99/night hotels and there is plenty of room in the dining area.
all in all, the hotel is quiet, clean and convenient. we'd likely stay again. -
