Every time I've wanted to try Bay Burger in the summer, there was always a line at least 15 people deep, so I'm obviously thrilled the summer crowd has gone home so I can give it a try. Good to note: although I don't have children, Bay Burger is an excellent place for families. They have this little room in the back that you can even rent out by the half hour, so kids can play video games and parents can have a moment of peace.
We both had the veggie burger (which was good, albeit a little light since its base was brown rice), fries and tots (these tots are outstanding), and 2 sodas for a little under $24. For the Hamptons, this is a steal. I'd absolutely go here again as there is finally (FINALLY) a good to-go lunch option that does not involve an overpriced Golden Pear sandwich. -

Bay Burger is a summer spot for most locals/out of town people that want to grab a quick bite to eat. It's a great, casual place to hang with your friends or family at.
Pros: Great BLT sandwich and cheesy fries.
Cons: They are too expensive. They don't do meals there and it just adds up to more money at the end. Fries are sold separately which is kind of a turn off because I feel like they should give deals to people! Bay Burger will charge you $3 for a small little hot dog and at that point I am better off buying a pack at a local grocery store or even going to NYC to get one from a vendor. Way better!
Try it and see if you like it. -

The place is immaculate, the servers great, the burger is aA plus just as in the burger Joint in NYC.
$8-9 for a glass of wine is absurd. What is this? THe American Hotel?
The fries suck just as at the Burger Joint; they are pre-frozen.
If you hand make your burgers and your ice cream, you must cut your own shoestrings every day.
We drove 50 miles; never again.

I am not sure why this place does not have a higher rating...maybe it is because Martha Stewart touts their burgers or because most people do not recognize an amazingly fresh burger with a homemade bun when they taste it!?!?
I am definitely a fan!!! Most everything is from scratch. The fish burger is a true treat and the beef burger is pretty damn good. The fries are crispy. Ice cream is ah-mazing. Salads are to die for. And they have homemade iced tea and iced coffee...ahhhh. (As well as beer for you guys who need one with a burger.) The falafel burger sounds tasty too. All ages and types will find something on the menu that won't break the bank. Come one, come all. -

Fresh ground meat and homemade buns make this complete. Nice, cute spot just before the main town. Martha Stewart knows what's up!

Decent burger but I think I was just expecting something better after reading all of the reviews. The place was very nice and the staff was friendly.

A very good burger spot with an expanded menu for the more adventurous types. I have been told that the owners of this place also own the burger joint in the Parker Meridien on 57th street. If that is the case, I think Bay Burger is better.
I had a burger with tomato and red onion. It was excellent. Also the tots were crispy and light with just a hint of salt. It made for a perfect lunch. They also serve tots with cheddar cheese on top, after a few moments in the oven, just to melt the cheese and brown out a few of the tots. It was 1000 calories of magnificence.
This location is very airy and super clean. I can imagine it gets packed on the weekends with families and kids. Oh, did i mention the ice cream? It seems they make their own and it looks great. I was hurting to try the pistachio but had to pass. Milk products and I don't always get along.
I was here on a weekday around 2pm and it wasn't busy at all. So, if you are in the area try this time slot because I am told sometimes this place is a freaking madhouse. -

I was in the area for work - sort of a once yearly training event just down the road at an electrical facility. Hit Bay Burger with a couple of co-workers for lunch.
On the positive side - the service was quick and polite and the place was very clean. The atmosphere and decor is very casual.
One co-worker had a hamburger wth tater tots, the other co-worker and I had the daily special, a fish burger. I had mine with a side of fries and a small soft drink. I had misgivings about ordering the fish burger - it listed scallions and garlic as ingredients, but I decided to be adventurous.
The fish burger was excellent! The bun was fresh baked. My fear had been that too often garlic is used in excess (like garlic knots!). But there was just a hint of onion and garlic, with a mild fish flavor predominating. The fish used was cod. My friend's burger looked good, and I heard no complaints about it from him.
My two friends/co-workers are not on Yelp.... I asked them how they would rate the restaurant; they both replied 3 stars, I was thinking 3 or 4.
Which leads to our negatives.....
Being working class Long Islanders we all thought it was a little pricey for burgers. The menu was alacarte..... a burger with fries and a small soft drink came to $11 or more. I guess it's not that much higher than a typical Long Island dinner, and maybe 1/4 more than what I'd have spent in a deli. And besides - it is the Sag Harbor area!!!!
On whether Bay Burger is good for kids....... the food and atmosphere, definitely yes! But for a family on a budget, definitely NO! But then again they don't belong in the Hamptons ;-)
Oh - and it is folding green cash only, no credit cards taken.
Bottom line - next time I'm in the area I will probably stop in again. -

In N Out Burger, at least the first one or two, probably looks a lot like this. I'm assuming that is what the owners were going for and not a bad model to copy. Anyway, very solid burger - great meat-to-bun ratio, fresh vegetables, tasty cheese and consistently cooked to temperature ordered. Fries and tots are pretty good, but neither travel well (not BB's fault). Shakes and ice cream are quite good. I could tell ya about the other stuff, but who cares - it's a burger place, folks!
Staff is nice and the grill guy - looks like Darren Sproles or the scene-stealer from 40-Year Old Virgin who asks to be "hooked up" with some freebies, only be denied by the hilarious salesman, but I digress, what matters is the cat can tame a grill, properly.
ps - How does Bay Burger only have 2 reviews (a 2- and a 3-star, mind you) on Yelp? This is a great burger factory. I know you east enders are on vacation, but spread some Yelp love! -

Another decent burger spot, but a bit dirty and full of flies. More of a fast-food joint than anything else. Note to mgt: invest in some fly strips, they're cheap and effective!

We have been here several times. The burgers and service are always great. We only had one experience where the inside of the burger was cold, but we think the planets weren't aligned or something similar. This is a great alternative to LT's, and the prices are very reasonable for the area.

Hmmm... a little fishy... all these 5 star reviews on the same day.
I guess I missed the 5 star day. I ate here first about 2 years ago, I had great memories of the loaded burgers, and tater tots. However, last week, my impression sort of faded. I ordered a medium rare burger, with bacon, chedder cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and mayo. And, of course, tater tots. I noticed they took the lobster roll off the menu, but there was a kielbasa that I think is new. They also have grilled cheese sandwiches, fries, loaded tots, and some salads.
My burger was medium rare, but I thought it came out a little cold. One piece of iceburg lettuce, a nice slice of tomato and crinkle cut pickles. I liked the freshness of the toppings and the soft bun. The chedder had a nice sharp flavor too. I was less impressed with the limp flimsy bacon. The tater tots were crispy and so were the fries.
Overall I'd say it was a solid made to order burger, but nothing that is memorable or exceptional. -

Great burgers, shakes and fries. The fish burger is great too, who woulda thought! In a setting where $25 burgers are the norm, the Bay burger and its inexspensive prices are breaths of fresh air.

Not too stand out, but hey, its a great burger at a good price.
Don't mess around with anythign too complicated. Just get a burger and some fries. Don't get me wrong, the fish and chicken stuff is good. But the place is called Bay BURGER. -

I just made my second trip to Bay Burger this past weekend. It was as good as I remembered. My burger was perfectly made--I love the fresh-baked buns. My mother-in-law really liked her fish burger, too. We finished the meal with homemade ice cream-- chocolate pretzel chunk--and it was very, very good.
The outdoor patio was a great, shady spot for lunch. I brought my dog, which made it even better. There are games for kids to play inside, too. It's a fun, casual family spot with really good food.
