Neighborhood: CharlestownThe new Battle of Bunker Hill Museum across the street from the Bunker Hill Monument is located in the old Charlestown Public Library building in Monument Square.
Among the artifacts located in this building are:
1) A cannon ball from the battle that was found in a backyard in Everett
2) Dr. Joseph Warren's ceremonial Mason apron
3) A drum used during the battle
It also has the old miniature model that was in the Lodge (little building attached to Bunker Hill) that now lights up and tells the story of the battle.
One of the best things about it (besides being FREE and having air conditioning) is the mural that is on the second floor depicting the battle. Beautiful workmanship.
