      I purchased a deep cycle RV battery 11 months ago from Batteries Plus Bulbs on Bush Street, SF. My display recently started telling me the battery won't hold a charge. It has a 12 mo warranty, so was happy to learn this now, before the warranty expires. I took the battery in, they checked it over the weekend and told me it holds 80% (which is not true!). The Store Manager said their cut-off for warranty is also 80%, so it would be his judgement call. He denied this 'judgement call' that he could have easily made, and did not honor the warranty! Shame on you Batteries Plus Bulbs and this weasly manager.

      (the good reviews here are only for buying a battery, but just try to ever use your warranty! Those are horrible reviews!)

      This place is a class act from the website to the bricks, concrete and sales people in the shop. First off they charge a generous rate and actually are set up so fixing your phone, does not rival the experience of having to decide whether to give away your first or second born!!! None of the Bullshit like "this part will take 3 months, well they don't make that anymore, etc etc." Just "Make an appointment, same day drop off and fix..." reminds me of the old days when fixing something meant getting it fixed that day.

      But, this business has amazing products. They stock the highest quality at a decent price, beautifully made LED lighting, flashlights, bulbs and every variety of battery. The sales people are fantastic! kind and helpful with great product knowledge....This is a business that one hopes gets the support it needs because they are a benefit to the consumer they serve... As a matter of fact if one MUST drop their phone? Drop it off with these guys LOL!

      Good Customer Service But ...

      I went to the Bush Street store to get my Kindle battery replaced. They did not have a tech to do it and hadn't hired a new one in over a year. Does it really take a year to get a new technician? In the meantime your advertised commitment to being able to provide a service is then stopped.

      Now I need to make time to check their El Cerito store and see if they can do this job. A business, even a chain, has to deliver what's promised.

      We found the store when I learned that my old iPhone 5S, whose battery was getting weak, had no similar-sized replacement. Replacing the battery appeared to be an alternative. BatteriesPlus appeared to be a very professional operation and easy to get to. Although they have a huge stock, they had to order mine and scheduled an appointment for 2 days hence. They needed 45 minutes, we went to lunch, received advice on how to deal with a new battery. The phone is working well now and I expect it to so, at least until they make pocket-sized phones again.
      They have an incredible selection of batteries and they have a large variety of fluorescent, LED, and incandescent lights.

      They fixed my galaxy s6 screen that was broken but did a shotty job. The screen separated from the frame, popped out and cracked literally in my pocket. When i showed them this, they blamed the bent frame for the break - but if the frame was bent it was done before they fixed the phone. How are you going to agree to fix a phone if you will not stand by your work?

      Andrea was a great technician and had good customer service, i cannot say the sam for the guy who appeared to be her manager.

      I have since taken it to a second dealer who easily fixed the bend in the frame and the screen. They will no longer get any of my business.

      My tiny light bulb on one of my Christmas village houses died and I tried calling the main retailer (Dept. 56) at Pier 39 for a replacement bulb several times this week to no avail. Nobody picked up the phone to answer my call and I have a rule...let the phone ring 15 times per call before hanging up...and I did this about 4 different times. It's not good when one does not answer the telephone.

      I was almost at wit's end when my sister suggested that I do a google search. Lo and behold, I found this business. I gave them a call and a very pleasant gentleman answer the phone on the second ring. Impressed? Yes, I am. I gave him a description of the bulb and he told me that he might have a replacement bulb in stock. He also suggested my bringing in the bulb and the cord so he can assist me.

      Since I work in the Civic Center area in SF, this business is up on Bush/Van Ness and it is within walking distance, my bummed left knee is not going to allow me to ambulate up Van Ness (from Eddy Street), heading north. Come Monday afternoon, I am catching the 47 or 49 Muni up Van Ness to purchase my replacement bulb.

      Batteries Plus, I haven't been to your business yet, but you're awesome and you're a life saver. I am so glad that I found you through a google search.

      Yes, an update to a battery store; they are that exceptional. Shout-out to Chris specifically for obsessively revitalizing my Eton Earthquake battery area which was nigh-destroyed due to a leaking water container, you made my NPR contributions even more worthwhile! Indeed thank you twice and thrice over for handling Tiny House Solar Lithium v. ______ Battery Discussion Hour and the rechargeable battery science lesson for dummies all while helping out a VERY (and understandably) particular interior designer; someone should give you a raise. And finally, thank you Bulbs Plus for carrying Verilux Full-Spectrum bulbs on the shelf, avoiding poor lighting for artists, keeping my SAD at bay, thrilling my corner-entrenched rubber plant and avoiding the many sad shards of Amazon lightbulb delivery. I make a point to come here and so should you. Well done!

      Also P.S. my last review was on an 80's Merc Diesel so just try to stump them.

      I came in about a month ago looking for a specific motorcycle battery (Yuasa) which I knew was compatible with my motorcyle and had used in the past.

      At the desk I was upsold into another model which they promised me would also be compatible with my motorcycle and would hold a better charge. This was important because my motorcycle can sometimes take a long time to start, and that stresses the battery a bit. Long story short the new battery they sold me was not in fact compatible with the motorcycle, despite their assurances.

      This resulted in a situation in which a well established local mechanic couldn't use the battery I provided from Batteries Plus. Through no fault of Batteries Plus the battery could not be returned.

      I called and spoke with the manager Alex - because I felt they bore some fault by talking me out of the initial battery that would have worked and fairly aggressively pushing the higher priced alternative which was incompatible. Alex informed me that he was not willing to even partially reimburse me, and pushed me off the phone.

      Bad advice, aggressive upselling and no accountability. Buyer beware.

      Frank- I understand your position, the fact that I cannot return the physical battery is unfortunate, and not your fault.

      The mechanic owned up to their mistake in losing the battery, and even acknowledged it directly on the phone with your team, so you know this isn't a scam.

      You need to acknowledge your teams multiple mistakes in this process and make it right. My offer of partial reimbursement is and was fair.

      DO NOT buy cell phone batteries there!

      I came to Batteries Plus because I thought they would have a better quality of product, not some cheap Chinese junk like Amazon, even if it cost more.

      I purchased a battery at BP for my Samsung Galaxy in September. By December, it wasn't able to hold a charge all day -- on a lightly used phone. So, what I got from BP for $40 was cheap Chinese junk. I bought an OEM Samsung battery from Amazon for $9 that lasts for days.

      When I went back to the BP store with the battery and my receipt, they said that "too much time has passed" (um, 90 days) and that they are unable to give me a refund or replacement (no thanks). And I have a written "lifetime warranty".
