I think I just grew some hair on my chest after a visit to Bass Pro Shops. This place is the mecca of any manly pastimes.
Feel like killing a deer? No prob! There is more camo here than an Army depot and compound bows galore.
How about skinning aforementioned deer? They got you covered with a wide selection of knives and butcher kits.
Like to fish? Rods, clothes, tackle, and even freaking boats!!!
Too lazy to leave the store? No prob, there is a 30,000 gallon aquarium here FULL OF FISH.
They should be blasting the theme from Team America World police here non-stop.
Just when you thought this wonderland of all things manly couldn't get any better, they install a Santa's Wonderland here every year - Santa, elves, and shooting games for the kids (not real weapons morons).
Now you can take your kids to see Santa and drool at all of the man toys at the same time. The lines are SHORT, you get a picture for FREE, and get this - they even give you a voucher for free lunch for your kid at Islamorada Fish Co....... are you kidding??? Avoid the mall and come here!
If you are a man and if you have a kid, there is pretty much no excuse why you have not been here yet.

I love this place.
In my visits i've gotten the best gun advice every, bought tasty popcorn and sausage casings!
The staff is well rounded and knows about everything sold in the store. They can help you with anything, and whats better they have personal experience or knowledge with it.
The store is huge and layed out perfectly. I wish i had a day to kil because I would enter myself in the daily drawings they have in the rear of the store.
This is an outdoor nirvana -

Bit of an outdoors man.
Grew up deep in the woods walking around here takes me back when I had more primitive tools such as homemade gigs, fishing poles, traps, even sleeping beds. I could spend most of the day here picking things up and by the time I'm ready to leave have nothing to purchase. Well maybe some ammo you can never have enough bullets. I did purchase a wakeboard here (small hobby), its like skiing. If you enjoy the outdoors this is definitely a store you want to check out and even if your not a fan I would still recommend you come by. You never know when an episode of Man vs Wild will inspire you. I may stop by here again next week its been awhile since I been camping. Forgot to mention it does get pricey :o. Thanks for the time. -

This place is really big. If your an outdoor person and like to go fishing or shooting you will find everything you need there. there are some cool toys you can play with. What a candy store is too kids is what Bass Pro Shops is to man. hard to find help but once you do they are helpful and know their stuff. great place

Place is great as it is huge. Way under staffed as they had two people helping in gun department and had to wait an hour just to have my number called. then after I received an hour of free range time since you get with a purchase of a gun and there are way too many restrictions when you shoot there and they really didn't have a clue on what they are doing. On top of everything when shooting a rifle there you must use their ammunition and they are so overpriced. You need to be rich just to get enough bullets to shoot for an hour. Customer service is great though at their CS desk as I had lost my rewards card and they had to give me another one.

Excellent layout, excellent selection, nice employees, fair prices, had to wait a bit of time to get to speak with an employee, but I'm sure that's because they were busy filing paperwork for the customers.
For outdoors equipment and sports, this store is excellent.
I find the review that states "I really wish South Florida had an REI" amusing, considering Seattle has a REI and I want an Outdoor World :D

This is a must see store for any outdoor sports fan. It is huge, like in Wow! All of the décor is artisan designed and it has just about the largest line of fishing, hunting, water sport, golfing and boating equipment to be found along with a huge line of shoe, boot and clothing. It even contains an indoor shooting range, has concealed weapons permit classes, two restaurants, a "Hemmingway" bar and is conveniently located next to the International Game Fishing Association's Hall of Fame and Museum.
It's a great place to spend a day and kids will especially enjoy the huge indoor fish tank as well as other attractions. The perfect place to spend a rainy day. -

I've given up using Google maps on my crackberry but before I deleted the app I received totally wrong directions to Bass Pro. I then called the shop and spoke to a very helpful woman named Carol who gave me "clear as a bell" instructions on how to get there. Once I'd gotten there I didn't realize how much time I was going to spend looking around.
I was only going to Bass Pro to pick up a gift certificate for a family friend. He has an entire house in Alaska dedicated to fishing...wall to wall knicknacks. So I knew this would be the perfect gift for him. A nice woman named Teresa greeted me and showed me a rack of gift cards on the counter. Once i had chosen, she then suggested something better and left to go get it. She came back with an adorable little toy tackle box that when opened, displayed the gift card very nicely. Perfect. He's gonna love this!
After paying, I decided to roam the store a bit and to my suprised saw way more than I expected. I'm definitely not into guns and hunting but there's all sorts of neat things. Tons of camping gear, fishing equipment, golf clubs...even a food section with margarita mixes and every every single bbq and hot sauce ever made. Every employee seemed to love their job and it reflected in the way they treated me. They even host summer camps for kids and seminars for adults who want to learn how to fish, kayak, or hunt.Listed in: For a good time call....

This place is enormous and great fun to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon with kids (especially the big grown men type of kids like my husband and his friend).
This past Saturday we arrived just in time for my husband and his good friend to get their photo taken with Santa for free in a little grotto they have set up in the boat area for Christmas time (check with the store for the free photo time because its not all day nor every day). Its great. They have little tables and chairs for the kids to draw and make pictures with crayons and stamps. They have some model trains running on displays and they have two little mini target shooting booths set up. All of this coupled with the already existing huge fish tank and a pretty cool outdoors themed toy department makes it a great place to bring kids. They also have a full size target practice game set up year around beside the gun range.
This store has pretty much anything you would want for fishing, hiking, shooting, camping and possibly much every other sport as well as a lot of items for cooking outdoors and other outdoor recreation activities and games. This weekend a turkey frying demonstration was going on at the front door and they were cutting up the turkey for tasting and it was out of control delicious and juicy.
They have a HUGE array of boats on display (this takes about a half hour at least for us to get through). Prices are reasonable, some things like the clothing I think a little expensive but then everything goes on sale eventually and they DO have great sales - this weekend a turkey fryer with a stand and all the accoutrements was on sale for half price (about $50) and the peanut oil for frying was also on sale. Saw lots of people stocking up.
Upstairs they have a little gun range and an archery range and the staff were very friendly to everyone we saw coming in while we sat a while and watched.
Next door and adjoining is The Islamorada Fish Company - I haven't eaten there but its always packed when we go shopping. Outside there they sell food items and candles and kitsch. On the weekends they have a hotdog and burger and soda table set up outside on the sidewalk.
I love Bass Pro - its always like a festive occasion when we go here, the staff are lovely and friendly and helpful and there is always so much to see. -

The best indoor gun range in ALL of SoFlo is at Outdoor World/ Bass Pro in Broward. Really , ladies, my biggest gripe about most ranges are the nasty bathrooms and the good ole boys who either "help the little ladies" or sit back and snicker at them. The range at Outdoor world is not only the cleanest, it is the most professional and least creepy of the SoFlo lot. Worth the drive to Broward.

GINORMOUS!! Is that even a word? This place is so huge it should get it's own zip code!! It's basically every sportsman's wet dream. They have everything there related to outdoorsy stuff. I mean everything and that's what makes it so awesome.
I went there specifically to purchase a gun because a lady needs to protect herself in this day and age. Who am I kidding? I just love to shoot stuff!!
The staff at the gun counter are very friendly and helpful. When I went in for my purchase I had a specific gun in mind. It must have been luck because they had exactly what I wanted. A hot pink Cobra .380 special. This gun is a beauty!! I know you're thinking PINK? Yeah, I'm obsessed with the color pink and I HAD to have a pink gun. I filled out my forms and five minutes later I made my purchase. I had to wait the standard 7 day waiting period. A week later I went to pick up my gun and as a thanks for purchasing I received a free session at the gun range. I must say their gun range is one of the nicest, cleanest and not so creepy gun ranges I've ever been to.
They had a baby pink shotgun for sale...I know that's going to be my next purchase!!!Listed in: Kiss! Kiss! Bang! Bang!

My favorite sporting goods store. When we take the drive up to Broward we spend half of our day here. We even stay for lunch at their restaurant. The kids really enjoy coming here.

Don't laugh at me but I love hanging out here with my son. It just reminds me of my tomboy days and it's like a big kid candy store. My son takes archery lessons for only $5. You must make a reservation in advance but they provide everything, just show up on time. The staff were awesome and when my son was ready to buy his own equipment they answered every last question we had and gave us great personal advice. I love their camping supplies and always find something new that I have to get. Check out their huge aquarium and grab a delicious moon pie on the way out. Way too fun to stay away !

This is my favorite place to shop. I get clothes and all my fishing gear at the Bass Pro Shop. My new interest is hunting and they have that too!! Prices are good !! They are always running weekly sales. Bass Pro has a wide selection on their clearance items too... Sometimes I just go there to hang out and enjoy the great outdoors. I usually always find something to my liking.

This isn't just a Bass Pro Shops, it's a sportsman's dream. When construction started in the early 2000's, I was excited about having a new place to shop for fishing equipment, but I had no idea that it would be more like a 150,000 square foot theme park.
This Bass Pro is not part of a mall. It was constructed with the fishing museum to its north. A dive shop was more recently built to the south.
It's not just about shopping, it's the whole ambiance of the place. Murals and taxidermics are placed throughout the store, a giant waterfall with aquarium holds large species of Bass, Redfish, Tarpon, Catfish, Gar, Bream, & Crappie. A mannequin hikes above the camping area along a rickety rope bridge. A great seafood restaurant is located inside, with dockside dining available along a man made pond. A golf shop, a putting area, a shooting arcade, a pistol & archery range upstairs, a specialty fly fishing shop, a kayaking and canoe section, over 100 boats on display, many inside the store; and most importantly, the most extensive line of fishing equipment and accessories I've ever seen.
If that wasn't enough, prices are competitive, and customer service can't be beat. Returns and exchanges are completed quickly with little hassle. They've freely exchanged a fishing pole that I admittedly broke, and a fishing reel with missing parts, that I admittedly lost!
More than a store, it is often used as a venue for camping, fishing, and hunting expositions, with fishing demonstrations held in the aquarium. This is South Florida's one stop shop for everything outdoors.
When entering the store, look to the right, at the fireplace. To the right of the fireplace lies a carved duck. It says "Ron Smith" underneath and was carved by my father. -

Most South Florida gun ranges are complete dumps. Not so here- this is the best we have to offer. Clean, bright ranges. Ammo at the same price as the rest of the store, although they often run out now with Obama in office(sorry people, that's just a fact.) Plus, you have the rest of the store and the great restaurant to eat at when you are done.
The only reason I dropped two stars is the goofy way they make you get to the range. You have to stop at the front desk, and get each gun tie-wrapped. At the range, they cut the ties, then re-wrap them on the way out. Then you have to to get them cut off at the customer service desk. It really stinks if you want to shoot more than one firearm, and I really object to it since as a CCW holder, I was allowed to simply walk back to the range at their stores in Texas. -

Great place to shop for anything outdoors. Gun prices are a little pricey and so is ammo, but it is very nice to have everything under one roof. Just walking into this store I feel 20 times more manly. My beard grows more, my hunting instincts get a little more sharper, and my hunger for exotic beer jerky becomes unbearable. I love the fact that they give you 10$ after you spend a certain about here (Aka: arm and leg). The gun range is pretty nice. It's air conditioned and not patrolled by Nazi range officers. They don't let's you rapid fire, draw from holder, or any cool stuff. But it is only 10$ and once again all under one roof. Where else can I buy a bow, shoot a gun, shop for a boat, and then get sushi. NO WHERE! So check it out!

Wow, this place is HUGE. This one is bigger than the Las Vegas location. The hubby was in paradise to say the least, we went here with our travel group after our cruise. The men folk had the best time in there while the girls just sat in there really plush seats chatting and people watching. This place has everything a sporting fanatic could ever dream of. They also have an extensive selection of candy who knew the hunters and fisherman loved licorice so much. In the check out area you can find a lot of flyer's and brochures for many excursions while in the Miami area, like alligator farms and sport fishing trips.
