I have fond memories of my mother packing me into the car in the middle of the summer and driving to Davis and surprising me with some ice cream.

I forget the entire name of the sundae I always get. Royale? Something Royale. Three scoops of ice cream topped with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. Mmm...

thanks to a thread that i responded to a month ago, i learned that it's 'sherbet' nor 'sherbert'.  for the past 26 years of my life, my mind has placed an r where it shouldn't be.

i've thought a lot why i put it there.  maybe i blended sorbet with sherbet, but that doesn't reallly make sense.

anyway, i felt proud with my new knowledge of ice cream terminology, and told my friends 'did you know it's sherbet not sherbert?'  they looked at me in disbelief.  apparently i wasn't the only one that didn't know.

what surprised me the most was that the girl behind the counter said 'no, it's sherbert'

'um, i think it's sherbet because it says so on that sticker'

'no, it's sherbert'

*scratching my head* 'um, ok'  'hey kevin, come over here and look at this' *points at sticker that CLEARLY says 'sherbet'

oh well...

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream!

I love Baskin Robbins and their fifty million different flavors.  I mean, how many different flavors could there possibly be?  Best part is the dollar scoop Tuesdays.  Perfect for broke college students like myself.  The little patio area outside also adds to the charm.

Oh, don't forget the cakes!  They look so good, especially the little cone clown!  For you coulrophobics, gather up the courage and eat the clown!

Most likely the most consistently happening spot in town.  No matter how hot or cold it is outside, people are looking for their ice cream. I'm very partial to the pistacio almond here and have been known to binge on their coffee drink/shakes here. I had once gotten my roomate in college addicted to them too but he didn't handle the caffeine so well.  He made a very angry caffeine junkie.

Go on Tuesday for $1 scoop night! The line is long, but it's cheap ice cream :)
