Barry's is the best place, bar none to buy formal wear in the entire tri-state area. They have multitudes of tuxes at every level of style and quality. You can buy anything from a standard yet high quality entry level tux for about $130 to multi-thousand dollar designer labels.
I am required to wear different varieties of formal wear for work and most of the stuff I wear is from Barry's. My second to last regular tux was from them and I picked it up for $150, new. It looked great and served me quite well. I also bought a very nice brand new white summer tux jacket from them for just $100 and I love it. I'm always being complemented on how terrific I, um, I mean it looks!
They have a very extensive rental program too, which made it possible for me to snag an incredible looking lightly used Perry Ellis tails jacket there for only $120. Talk about quality at a steal! Also, they feature a wide variety of shirts, ties, vests, cummerbunds, studs, cuff links and even top hats and canes if you're into the weird stuff.
Another good thing - NJ has no sales tax on clothing. Also, their salesmen are well informed, expert, polite, respectful, low key and very professional. Reason for just 4 stars: as terrific as they are, their tailors charge WAY too much for alterations. Tip - buy your clothes there and get them altered at your local dry cleaner in NYC. You'll save $$$. Still, Barry's is THE place though. I love them!
