Everytime I go here I feel like I'm going to prom. But hey, anywhere that lets you walk thru the bar to get to the restaurant is A-OK by me!
I feel the service is exceptional. The food is good. Actually one of the best filet's I ever had was here. Looks like the perfect place for a wedding rehearsal dinner. I have never sat out where the windowed tarp area is however it looks nice!
Bruno's seems to have been originally a house (similar to C&D Bistro)... unfortunately I cannot find any information on that... so I assume as usual ;) However that "homey" feel intrigues me to any restaurant.
I would give it 4 stars but I'm just too po' to afford this place all the time!
Throw us a bone!! Maybe a happy hour, 1/2 price apps... something?? :(

Lovely dining area and bar. Staff was friendly, but the service was terribly sluggish and unfocused (it took nearly an hour before our waiter remembered us in the back corner and came to take our dinner order). We didn't complain though, since my Husband and I were out for a romantic dinner date, and graciously enjoyed the slow pace.
The food was alright... nothing unforgettable, but nothing terrible. We enjoyed our meal - however, later that night we both got extremely sick. Since we only shared the ahi tartar, we were fairly sure that's what the culprit was... When we contacted the restaurant the next day, they were rude, said they would have to look up our tab and get back to us and then never followed up with us to make sure we recovered.
We'll never go back there - too many concessions to pay so much money for so little in return.

The place is nice and the staff is mostly pleasant, but the food falls terribly short.
This is a restaurant that is definitely trying to compare to San Francisco restaurants but can't seem to make the grade.
I've had multiple dishes from this restaurant and have not been able to find a great one. The seafood platter serves Ahi that they say is sashimi grade, but is barely pink and had clearly been frozen. The oysters seemed dry.
They have their version of a Caprese Salad which looks like something a hotel would serve when they're trying to worry about presentation over quality of food. The tomatoes were completely flavorless and their's a huge sprig of raw rosemary coming out of the top which is basically useless for flavor.
Their salads were a bright spot and the Iceberg Wedge especially adds a nice twist by using crispy onion rings on it. Loads of flavor.
The raviolis on the menu change daily and are pretty hit or miss.
The Fettuccine Alfredo was served so incredibly hot that it was inedible and was obviously microwaved. The grilled chicken in it was completely dried out.
The polenta looks like it came from a freezer bag, though the way it's described on the menu sounds like it'd be simply delicious.
These are examples, feel free to message me for other dishes.
The wine list is completely uninteresting. Most of the wines are well over $60 with maybe 7 of a large wine list that are under that price. None of the wines at any price are ones that you haven't hear of before (Duckhorn, Silver Oak, etc). Nothing new hear, keep the line moving.
The bar is well-appointed and a nice place to sit and have a drink, though if you're not a regular you'll get passed over pretty quickly and have to flag down the bartender to order a drink. I guess they don't want any new regulars.
This place would die a pretty quick death in San Francisco, but it's in Pleasanton and people in Pleasanton are starved for a good downtown restaurant that has a sense of vibe to it, which is why it stays open.
They do good banquet business as well, which is something to look for when you go in. Turn around and walk out if you see a large party.
I'm not sure why anyone would say this is good for kids. Most of the people here are usually on dates or business dinners. Sure, you could bring kids, but they'd be horribly bored.
This place has loads of potential and could be one of the greatest in the Tri-Valley, but someone forgot all this and just started putting stuff out that seemed to mostly come from a can.

Really like this place. Great California cuisine. Nice atmosphere and pleasant wait staff. Not too pricey and an okay place for kids. They've done great accomodating large groups for me and the service was still really good.
There menu tends to have something for everyone, seafood, beef, chicken, pasta, vegetarian, salads. Their desserts are oh so yummy.
Great place all around. Good location, good parking, nice atmosphere, nice staff, great selection, reasonable prices. Oh yeah, we'll be back there over and over again.

After years of passing by this place I finally went to have lunch on my break. Parking was the best part about it since it was almost empty. The waitress kindly seated us and did her best. I ordered the chicken alfredo and found it to be no different from the kind I get in the box at Safeway. Took almost 30 - 40 mins to have it cooked which amazed me since it wasn't busy at all. But I did like the two seater booth seats. That was nice.
"The Most Romantic Continental Cuisine Restaurant."
Innovative pasta, seafood and meat entrees. Open nightly for dinner, Lunch Monday - Friday. Outdoor patio dining. Live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. Full bar. Banquet facilities for special events.
I have been to Barone's several times and have always had an excellent meal that went along with excellent service.
The food is always fresh and the servers always warm, courteous and prompt. The atmosphere is cozy, which makes for a great date, or just being with good friends.
The Scoozi Bread is to die for . . . Warm, slightly cristy flatbread with melted cheese in the middle and fresh, toasted garlic nibbles on top. The fresh tomatoe salsa that they serve with it is fabulous.
Had the pasta of the day, raviolis with shrimp, and the sauce was like eating candy it was soooo good. Other items recommended: Portobello mushroom was like eating a steak with another killer sauce, the Fettuccini Alfredo was also divine.
Don't miss the Barone's Antipasto Platter: cured Italian meats, cheeses, olives, ccornichons, marinated roasted peppers and pepperoncini. Served with toasted crostinil breads.
Loved the Caesar Salad: romaine lettuce tossed with a creamy garlic-anchovy dressing and topped with sun-dried tomatoes and shaved parmigiana cheese. The sun dried tomatoes were like eating candy.
Somewhat pricey, but highly recommended.
