Disappointing!
In all fairness they just re-opened. They have done some remodeling in the restaurant area with new tables and chairs and it looks nice. The bar area looks about the same as it has for 30 years and 30 previous owners. We were seated in the bar without being asked if we wanted to sit in there. They first tried to sit us at a table at the entrance where a large group had congregated, this made no sense give all the empty tables.
We ordered salads and without asking, they brought us very small - half orders of the salads we wanted. The server was very nice but did not know the menu at all. No bread. He also left our dirty plates and silverware on the table after we were done and during our dessert. All of the airport boarding and security announcements are broadcast extremely loud making it impossible to carry a conversation. I don't really need to hear about the TSA 3oz liquid policy while eating lunch. I'll give them another shot in about a month. I'm a pilot and meet a lot of transient pilots who land in Yakima expecting a restaurant so I'll wait a while before sending them over.
To summarize, the service was below par and the food was only ok.
I really like the venue and hope this one makes it. They need to up their service and offer a unique menu.
