I am almost afraid to review this place because I don't want it to get overpopulated but Barnett is the place to go in Napa. It is a very small boutique vineyard in Spring Mountain. Very blink if you miss it. I would have never known about it if my friend hadn't worked with one of their employees in Boston. We have been twice in the past two months are in love with this small vineyard. It is very private. Only a few appointments a day. The view is amazing and the staff (both Ted and Jackie) are so friendly and knowledgeable. The ride up to  the vineyard is windy and a little scary on the way down so don't do too much tasting before you head up there. The Rattlesnake Cab is one of the best and smoothest wines I have ever head.

Wow, I cannot believe nobody has reviewed this winery yet.  Their Rattlesnake Hill Cab is one of the Napa's best among critics, from what I know.

Just like other wineries in Spring Mountain District, don't expect Barnett to offer a big, fancy visitor center like you find along Highway 29.  Expect a casual and personal tasting done at a small counter in their barrel room.  When we went, it was just us and the guy who seemed to manage the place.

The scenery is beautiful, so it may be a good idea to bring some simple lunch and do picnic here.  But, be aware, it is pretty chilly up there.

Appointment is necessary, and the tasting fee was like $20 or $30.  We were able to apply that fee towards a purchase of Rattlesnake, so it wasn't bad.

i agree with the other reviews on yelp. what a great place! its a boutique winery with excellent cabs from spring mountain (which is where great cabs come from), a friendly staff and great views of the valley from 2000 foot elevation.  go visit, go taste, go buy.

This is hands down one of the best wineries I have visited. They have a magnificent view of the valley from the deck on top of Rattlesnake Hill.  Unfortunately, they were out of the Rattlesnake Hill Cab when we visited this past weekend, but did leave with the Cyrus-Ryan Cab which was excellent. The staff, especially Ted, is super friendly and absolutely wonderful! We can't wait to go back. Hopefully next time, we'll be able to score the Rattlesnake Hill Cab.
