Review from Ai L.
we went here for oysters. nice and fresh and not too pricy. yummy!
didn't really try anything else other than a grilled fish sandwich which was decent too. but def try the fresh oysters next time you stop by. the magarita was just okay, not my favorite. could probably do without. -

This place is a joke.
Watched a football game there..lots of TVs but let's say it this way...
Hey Barnacles, the 80s called, they want their TVs back.
Service was slow at best and they food was forgettable, just like Barnacles, forgettable.
Forget going here. They are not worth your time -

Completely forgettable. Food was bland. Wings were dull and slimy. Fries were tasteless. Burger wasn't the worse I've had this week. But come on - it's 2011... why are 90% of their TV's low resolution 4:3? HDTV is pretty much the standard now. Catch up. Some of their big screens looked like they were in use in the 80s. Seriously?
Went today and clearly half the place was watching the Giants/Eagles while the other half was watching the Pats/Bills. Yet both games had no audio and were put to the worst tv's in the place. -

A giant place with plenty of seating indoors AND outdoors. Oh, and did I mention that there were enough TVs so that even a wayward Chicago girl could keep up on her teams in the playoffs (GO BULLS!)??? Well, there were!
Ventured in here with two of my oldest and dearest friends with the promise of 2 lbs of crab legs on special and two-for-one happy hour cocktails (why, oh why, doesn't Illinois have happy hour, I ask!)
And crab was indeed on special. Even better? Soup or salad to start (gumbo for me, which was heavenly, all spicy and chunky) and my choice of sides...I was "good" and went with the veggies.
Honestly, I did not take much of a look at the rest of the menu, as I was focused on the crabbiness that was about to ensue...but it seemed adequate.
The crab did not disappoint. My crab-crackin' skills, however, did. As my fellow Chicagoan and I slowly worked through our shells, our newish Tampa-native pal busted through those shells like she was a pro. I'd call her a show-off, but by the end, she was pulling some serious chunks of meat out of the shells for ME, so I got nothin' but love for her.
One gripe? My biggest crab claw had a massive "growth" on it. I mean, seriously, there was black stuff all over it. Granted, I know it was cheap, and I know I am not the biggest crab eater, but seriously, scrape that sh*t off in the kitchen before you plop it down in front of me.
Service was friendly, down to the free bday shot for my friend, and the recommendation of the pool hall across the street for an after-party with a juke box.
I'd definitely venture back for the crab special, but I would make sure they would double-check my pile for any "growths"...I like my crustaceans clean, thank you!Listed in: Tampa, Tampa, Tampa!!!

Been here a few times. The most TVs I have seen outside of an electronics store in one location. Staff is friendly, but like their sandwiches and pasta dishes, always have leftovers. Calamari is also pretty good as well.
On a busy night parking is problematic and sometimes traffic is frustrating. If you like decent food (if you are looking for top notch grub you will not go here), sports, and trivia then this is the spot.Listed in: Favorite Casual Eats

This plac was pretty cool. They have TVs all around the restaurant. Every tv has a different channel, mostly sport channel.
there's also a game room for either adults or kids.
I had the fish tacos and it was yummy because the fish was really soft! Most places have the fish fried to a point that Theres no fish or it's supper hard. So I must give them thumbs up for the fish taco. Their clam chowder soup was good too. My bf orderd prime rib cuz they had the Wednesday $10 prime rib. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst I've ever tried.
Didn't go outside but when I arrived they were playing some music so that sounded fun too, but my bf an his friends wanted to watch some sports so we ended up eating inside. -

While the bartender at the bar where we sat was friendly (if busy, so we sat with empty glasses fairly often) the appetizers we ordered were seriously lame. We mainly stopped because they have Drifter on tap, which is my husband's favourite draft beer, and decided to try some of their food. We got their new "riblettes" (6.99) and crab stuffed mushrooms (also 6.99). The riblettes were pretty meh, and were fairly dry and mostly flavourless, but the mushrooms were seriously awful. The stuffing was mushy because they were sitting in this really greasy, oily, soupy mess (was it a sauce that broke?) and the mushrooms themselves tasted waterlogged. If there was crab in the stuffing at all I couldn't tell because it was just a soggy mess. The best part about it was the Pepperidge Farm garlic bread they served with it.
I know this is a sports bar so the burgers are probably fine, but seriously, if you're going to put something on your menu, you should be able to cook it well otherwise it shouldn't be there. I doubt we'll be going back. -

Even Gordon the fisherman wouldn't step foot into this crapshack.

to call this a sports bar is like saying the color yellow is a rainbow.
if you want to watch American football, then you're in luck, however, if you care to watch other sports (fyi, Barnacles, there are many) then you're probably SOL.
as they pre-program all TVs and have little selection I would HIGHLY recommend calling in advance to see if they carry the channels your sports are broadcast on. Secondarily, you may want to ask if they have the ability to show your particular sporting event. Finally, ask if every TV hasn't already been pre-programmed (which may exclude their ability to actually show it on one of their TVs).
*one last observation: it smells like jr. high cafeteria. -

An amazing display of outdated TVs are the highlight of this 80's era sports bar.
Foodwise I did enjoy the Seafood Gumbo. The crab legs are cheap and of average quality, it's tough to complain about $15.99 for 1 and 1/2 pounds of snow crab. Looking at the other menu items as they came by I was not impressed.
If your looking to watch non-HD sports on 27inch TV's this is your place. Just stick to the beer and the crab legs. -

The food is pretty good, but the atmosphere is what people come here for. This place has the most TV's I've ever seen; they are all lined up around the top of the wall all around the restaurant. Outside on the patio there is still at least 20 TVs. If you like sports, this is a good place to go because every game will be on and you will be able to see it from any table. The seafood isn't too bad either.

We went for a freind's birthday last night and were promised all sorts of bells and whistles to get our business. The manager who promised us all these things said she would come by to make sure we were taken care of. That never happened. She wasn't even in the building. The staff was alright, as was the food. I had a Buffalo Chicken sandwich. It was good, but the loaded baked potato I got with it was better. They promised us they would stay open late and cater to us, but, again, that didn't happen. She was wondering why people don't go there and trying to up their business, well now you know why. Promises promises with no delivery. The only reason I am giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is that they had 2 for 1 drinks which was nice.

Ick. Not a place I ever want to go back to. Smell's funky and the food is terrible! The beer is cheap and there are a kajillion tv's, and if that's what you're looking for, you're set... but just don't eat the food.

I've heard about this place a lot because they do trivia at night and it's often packed to the gills at night so I wanted to try it out. My husband and I went for lunch and the place was a ghost town. NO one there. I had the fish tacos. Despite the emptyness the waiter made me feel a little rushed into ordering. Honestly I was not terribly impressed with my food. It was plain and the fried fish was very oily tasting. The prices are straddling the line between reasonable and a little pricey when you consider the quality of the food. The TV situation (practically replacing the need for any wallpaper) is amusing but I can't say I would go back.

The best thing about this place was all the TV's. Not that I wanted to watch TV or like having them in a resturant, but the sheer number of them (I'd estimate 150+) were impressive.
I had the Grouper stuffed with Crab which came with a clam chowder soup. The soup was pretty decent, the grouper was terrible, and I only took a few bites of the potatoes gratin before I decided I didn't want anymore. The cheesecake I had for dessert was too sweet.
I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible stomach-ache. Some of my coworkers also said that they felt the same way afterwards.
