This place is fairly good. I was taken on a quick tour around the whole place, and given information on how they did their things. Unfortunately this wasn't the place for me. I had my pup groomed here twice with unsatisfying results. (wanted to give the benefit of the doubt)
I can tell that the people at Barkley Square love to do their jobs and that was enough.
P.S. very roomy.
I came to Barkley Square for one reason only, Ms. Shannon! When I found out that my dog's groomer Ms. Shannon left that hell-hole A Pet Villa I immediately brought my baby to her here.
And as always my toy poodle gets an immaculate cut each time. And her toes get polished every once in awhile. Ms. Shannon is the best groomer, period.
I also started keeping my 1 year old toy poodle here for day care. I love the fact that I can check up on her on the webcam. You can see the staff walking/running around with the dogs at all times. Also, since my poodle is a little shy this has been great for her socialization skills. She gets to be in a "private" room when she needs to. I can just tell that the staff takes care of every dog and keeps their individual personality and temperament in mind with how they are handled.
And if you are looking for a top-notch groomer for your poodle... take him/her to Ms. Shannon
The people here are super nice! Shannon always makes my maltese look as cute as a button! I was able to get an appointment within a few days, which I loved. I can't wait to bring my maltese back here again! =)
I really liked this place. I decided to check it out after reading other Yelp reviews. I took my "Izzy" for a grooming session. I was a little concerned because it was a ghost town but I figured it was early on a Sat morning so people/dogs weren't there yet. She looked great and she waiting for me in her own private room. Great service!
I got the tour also and found that this place was spotless!! They have an overnight boarding room with real beds and it actually smelled incredible!! Totally not like there were dogs there. They have 2 small dog rooms and one big room for large dogs. All were great. I can't wait to drop Izzy off for daycare. I'm sure she'll have a blast.
I called to try to board my dog for the weekend and was appalled by the service that I received. The person was very rude to me once they found out that I owned a "bully" breed. My dog was only about 7 months old at the time and she is very sweet. This person discriminated against her just because of the hype in the media. Dogs are not born to fight, it's all based on how they are raised. He did mention that I can bring her in if I really wanted to so they can assess her but just from the way he spoke of her breed, I knew there was no way I would go there. I can't believe a place that provides services and supposedly loves animals would discriminate against a puppy like that!
I love this facility. I tested out this place because of friend recommended it to me and I was not disappointed! The people are super friendly and, after dropping off my dog for grooming, they asked if I wanted to take a tour around the place to ease my anxieties (I guess it showed on my face). The guy personally walked me through each individual room and thoroughly explained how their accommodation worked with each station stop. Such great service!
By the way, they separate the groomer dogs from the daycare dog so it shows how meticulous they are about their policy and the needs of owners. Each dog is placed in their own spacious room; NOT A KENNEL!
The cut my dog received here was the best that he's had. He's gotten loads of compliments after always "I love this cut the best, it makes him look so CUTE!". Many of the ones previous were heinous and I'm glad I've found a spot that works well for my dog. (p.s. my dog came back smelling fresh, clean and fragrant!)
Also, if you're looking for a daycare place, not only do they have an on-line web-cam at your disposal for stalking your dogs during their daycare hours, it's a huge, clean facility. Plus, they have "play time" where the dogs interact with supervision.

This place is awesome! I drive all the way from Morgan Hill to drop my dogs off here because I know they will be well taken care of. I have been a customer of Barkley Square for the past six months and I am so happy with this place. The dogs are separated by their size, i.e. big dogs with big dogs and little dogs with little dogs. Staff is there 24 hours a day with your dog so they are never left alone. They even have a "meditation room" that has a TV with couches. They take them into the meditation room if they can't sleep-at no extra charge!! They are free to socialize, and they are even fed separately to make sure your dog is fed properly (and that no bully dogs try to steal their food away from them.
The floors are made of rubber to protect your dog's footpads. They have even been known to call you and give a report on your dog's behavior (if he misbehaves) to let you know what is going on. This place is by far the best and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves their pet and wants the security of knowing they are well taken care of when you are out of town. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!
This place is the best! I brought my two puppies here and they love it more then home! The facility is set up for dogs of all sizes and have so many things to offer! They offer great training classes, which I will be doing for my pups asap, and even daycare, boarding, and spa treatment!! What else is great is that it is close! You can tell the employees love the dogs as much as the owners! Check it out, Its worth it!

web cam web cam! Need I say more!
This place is the best. I just dropped off my dog Chico there today. It's his first day there. I came to work in Scotts Valley, visit their web site and there, I can click on the web cam and see my dog run around with other dogs. He looks totally happy w/ other dogs. The handler is always close to them, and my dog obviously loves tthe handler. At one point, my dog was sitting right between the handler's legs, looking comfortable and content, and at another point, the handler was sitting on the floor with the dog, petting them nicely.
They charge $35 for day care, and $50 over night, though you get the 5th night free. With their professional and caring attitude, plus the convenience and reassurance I get from the web cam, I think it's worth every penny! Although they close at 7:30 pm, they do have staff on site with the dogs 24/7. They also offer packages where you can prepay 5 daycare days for a discount.
I am already in love with this place. I hope they keep up the good work cuz I'm finally happy, instead of feeling guilty, dropping off my dog at a day care. Definitely check this place out, especially if you live in Milpitas! It's a gem!
(May 9 update) this place is really great. Chico has going there for three days now, and he's totally happy. The handlers there really care for the welfare of my dog. I'm totally impressed!
(Nov update) OK. i've been taking chico here for obedience training and agility classes. It's really been fun. The teacher Karen is totally cool. She's patient and also good at teaching us on how to communicate with our dog, and also sees what we are doing wrong and able to correct us. I am amazed at what Chico has learned and been able to do. Only 6 months ago, Chico could only sit and stay (well, sorta) and understand "no". Now, he can sit, stay, and know how to leave it. He knows how to turn left and right, and jump over things and goes into tunnels and all sort of stuff. It's just been great. I just got a puppy a few weeks back, so I'm going to be taking my puppy for puppy class here too. I'm still in love with this place!

WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! First off, our dog is a 95 lb. pitbull mix, and many, many places are apprehensive when they hear this-but this place seemed overly cautious yet were willing to have him even after his assessment. Thank God we tried this place--been going for about year now. This place was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!! They really do like dogs, the owner/manager is really keen on which dogs he will allow there.... they are very thorough in their approach on animal care. Here are the best things about the place, in no particular order:
1. NO SMELL
2. Their own suites for the dogs!!!!!!!!
3. Plenty of room to play (indoor, outdoor, suites are large)
4. They are VERRRY flexible about when you can pick up your dog
5. WEB CAM
6. Tend to your dogs needs, whether it be health issues, anti-social, etc.
7. I heard from a couple of the employees, at night the sitter for the evening, will go in this one room (made for the dogs) with a couch and pillows, will just hang out in their with the dogs.....just because!!!
That is some real homestyle care!!!!
Would def recommend this facility for ANY dog!!!!

A friend linked me to their live web cam and suddenly i saw a few dogs wandering and playing in a large pen. Its doggie care and grooming services is immaculate. Dogs are separated by their demeanor and/or size. When we made our first visit, the staff happily gave us a tour. We also go to meet with the groomer who was going to bath and cut Paris. I was really impressed with both the size of the facility and their pricing. Grooming package, the whole nine is about $35. Once the pup is fresh and clean, he/she gets to have playtime while mommy and daddy come to pick them up. I wouldn't go back to Petsmart after this place.
Barkley Square isn't your typical pet daycare facility. It's family-owned and operated by true pet lovers. You can tell the minute you meet the employees that they're there because they love animals. They even take in animals from local shelters and try to find them owners. You pet couldn't be in better hands!
Thank goodness for Barkley Square! A full service doggie facility right here in Milpitas...I was very impressed...clean and cute...the play areas are large and instead of concrete floors, they have these cool rubber floors that are good on the dogs' feet , (pretty cool!), you can also get your dog groomed, a massage, take an obediance class and agility training. Instead of waiting for a bunch of different dog businesses to open in Milpitas, Barkley Square has done it all. They call it a 'Pooch Paradise"...but I think it's also a pooch's parents paradise. Check it out. One more thing...They also do cat fostering and adoptions and have at least one doggie staying there from the Humane Society. It's obvious that the folks that run Barkley Square love animals and want what's best for them, what more could you ask for! Check it out, it's right down the street from Edgie's.
The place is great, and everyone is super friendly. One of the owners gave us a tour of the place, which definitely made us feel more comfortable. The place is extremely clean and well organized. My puppy got a cut and it came out fantastic. It didn't even take as long as I thought it would have. Other places need to keep the puppy for 4hrs+ but they were done within 1hr-1 and a half hr. You can tell that everyone loves animals there and treat them well. I am definitely bringing my dog back, and I now know that if I ever needed to leave him somewhere overnight, that would be the place. I love that they also offer webcams so that we can watch them while we are away.
I definitely recommend this place!
