6 reviews for Barkley Square
This review is based solely on their website and a phone call.
I wanted to send some dear friends and their spoiled pooches some fun and different Christmas gifts.
I saved time and gas and went the "web" route.
I found "Barkley Square Gourmet Bakery". Very impressive website.
Excellent phone service (I called inquiring about one of the gifts and wanted to speak to a real person) The clerk was so sweet and helpful.
They had very unique items. Some of the things I ordered:
Fido Holiday Dinner $20 (it looked just like a turkey, stuffing, peas & carrots, cranberry sauce dinner) and was delivered in a cold pack.
Fine Wine for the Feline $15 "Meowlot"
Fido Maki Sushi $12 (looked just like maki rolls)
Burger & fries $6 (self-explanatory)
Pizza $ 12 (came in a mini pizza box)
They even have cat treats and toys.
Take a peek, really cute stuff and outstanding customer service!!

The store itself is small but quite cute. They had a sales bin and rack outside with some nicely-priced outfits and toys/accessories for your cats/dogs. They also have a pet-sitting service upstairs, and Javier is one of the guys - extremely gentle, sweet, loving, and an energetic guy that will give all the attention to your puppy with no worries. They also have some treats for your baby - mine especially liked the beef rawhide. I thought it was sweet for the owner to bring some cold water and let my pup frolic around the store.
I had brunch near here on Sunday and just happened by. This is not a store for people who own large dogs. Nor is it a store I would necessarily show up with my dogs in tow, it was super tiny. One floor and it was filled with stuff. The few cookies they had available where a bit pricy, I got a few "oops" which are basically the mistakes, they were $1 a piece. I hate to be harsh, but I just didn't like it, and wouldn't go back.
I used to mock stores like this and the people who would shop at them. What kind of person buys a box of peanut butter bonbons and a "Dog Perignonn" chew toy for their dog, when a dog would be equally happy with an old sock filled with pork chop bones? That was before I owned a dog. Now I am that person. Barkley Square has everything to satisfy the dog and dog owner who has lost his grip on reality.
Minus one star for the feelings of shame that overwhelm me when I buy a jumbo doggy cupcake for my dog.
If you treat your pup like royalty, or at least a member of your own family, I highly recommend that you visit Barkley Square. Besides the fact that it is one of the cutest boutique pet stores around it also has some of the best gourmet pet treats around. So if you aren't into dressing your puppy , carrying them around in designer handbags or showering them with expensive accessories check out the bakery. They have everything from pretzels to peanut butter cups to yummy cookies shaped like your favorite mailman.
If you are into clothes and accessories for your little one- you might be a little shell shocked at the price. T-shirts, jackets harnesses and leashes are priced around $30. Choose carefully, we don't want your going broke just to make the little doggie look good. :-)
Noted Barkley Square Doggy Bakery comes to Delray! Just next to Evening Star, you will find a tiny square and a storefront you might just overlook if you were driving by, but there tucked away is the Delray location of Barkley Square - also found in Old Town. With all the same charm, Delray's location is waiting to treat you and your furry friend to a luxurious spa bonding experience. Check it out in the Delray Sun for additional information: http://www.delraysun.n...
