This place is heavenly. You feel like you are walking on cushions after you leave. The simple 1/2 hour or 3/4 hour is pricy but worth every penny.

I can add nothing more to the already stellar reviews other than to just say this is one swoon-worthy spot! I am dreaming of all the special and not-so-special occasions when a gift certificate here is well in order! Luscious, decadent, delicious...all of the above! Treat yourself and set the bar on the whole pampering- realm up another notch!

I routinely go here for birthdays and celebrations as well as special gifts for myself! There is little that is more heavenly than a foot massage and at the Barefoot Sage you just get so much more. The big elevated couches make the atmosphere fun and friendly, the therapists are always great, and adding a little aromatherapy to your foot bath makes the whole experience come together. Plus, foot reflexology is a whole body treatment through the feet and at the Barefoot sage, you'll feel it. Treat yourself!

If you were to only get one type of massage for the rest of your life, it should be a foot massage. The soles of our feet have more connections to the rest of our body than any other body part (reflexology 101). Imagine a whole hour of triggering all those points (even the 20 minute massage with a foot soak is worth it). Located on Hawthorne, the interior is decorated like a Moroccan Temple with reds, purple, and gold curtains and couches. You get to choose an aromatheraphy blend out of many for your foot bath and then just sit back, relax...and fall asleep or in a deep trance while they do all the work. Available for purchase also while you get your service done are treats and tea. They also have a great selection of uniquely scented candles for sale, in addition to other items.

I'm definitely a sucker for a pedicure ... how much more pampered can you get really? Well ... now I know that you CAN get that much more pampered ... at the Barefoot Sage.
You sit on a cushy comfy couch and place your feet in lovely smelling water. Then you are treated to an amazing leg/foot massage ... forget about the polish - THIS is what it's all about.
OH and they'll bring you yummy tea and cookies ...
and yes ... I went there with Jackie ... MWAH!

So heavenly. I love the Hawthorne location. They have another location outside of PDX, I didn't like it nearly as much. I took a 8 year old and a 72 year old with me to that one. We all had great time. I fell asleep and they made fun of me but I was way to mellow to care. Try the "Bitter Love" black tea, too. yum.

No pedicures here, just relaxing baths and foot and leg massage for a totally Zen experience! The space is filled with sumptuous couches raised up on a platform so your legs have room to sink into a heavenly foot bath filled with a special blend of salt and essential oils that will immediately alter your senses. The space is serene, with calming music and a subtle scent of lavender and mint in the air.
Barefoot Sage offers a complete menu of services ranging from $40 to $150. My guy and I had the Foot Bath and Restorative Massage treatment. This treatment includes a 30-minute foot bath in a large, ceramic bowl filled with therapy rocks, and a 30-minute foot and leg massage that feels like heaven. Order up tea and cookie service and you have one hell of an experience for under 60-bucks for each person.

Absolutely fantastic! You should definitely make the time and drop the cash to visit barefoot sage. The space is just a huge room with big sofas and lots of pillows. I mean, is that not my ideal place right there? You sit up on the sofa and then Brandy our masseuse came by to fill us on what was available - different massage options, vegan cookie options (try the snickerdoodle) and tea options. I had the massage foot while my friend Tabitha started with the foot soak. I fell asleep mid massage cuz Brandy's got the magic touch there. When I woke up, I tried so hard to tell Tab how awful the experience was and that I would save her from the pain by having Brandy give me another massage so Tab wouldn't have to go through it. Maybe it was my sleepy eyes or groggy voice but Tab didn't go for it, damn her. After the massage was the foot soak. They had this huge metal tub that they filled with flower petals, warm water, sea salts and aromatherapy oils that smelled so good I wanted to eat it. During my 45 soak the warm water was refilled in the tub and my feet were immensely happy.
In summary: you should go here.

wow.
I'm too calm to say wow! Where are these places in Boston? Who wants to open one with me? My Aunt and Cousin always visit here on their mother daughter reunions in Portland and by luck of my DNA- my old school mafioso Uncle decided they should "make me an appointment" on his dollar. Lucky lucky me. You enter a warm womb of burnt orange and purple filled with big fluffy couches (all purple! or sage) the massage therapists come by with a large ceramic basin perfectly glazed inside the deepest cobalt and fill it with silver pitchers of water. salts and rose petals abound. As you soak they offer you tea and cookies...(i know- perfection) then depending on your order you get a 30 minute leg and foot massage. After that you are dipped in a paraffin wax from your ankles down, wrapped up and left to bask in what just occurred. And by the way- what just occured is about $60 and worth every penny. My therapists name was Laura and she was Amazingly sweet, precise and warm.
