WOW! Not only is every meal I have here consistently phenomenal (lobster croquettes are to dieeee for) but the staff! Our server Scott was so friendly and fun, you can tell how much he loves working there. Jorge (I think he's the manager) was so accommodating and personable as well. Praise is also a fantastic server that we love to come and see! Everyone should be coming to Barcelona for 1. The food, 2. The incredible staff.

Update- went here last weekend and had an amazing time!! My friend and I were seated promptly and didn't have to wait for our table like we did last time. Our server Diana was excellent, she kept checking in on us and apologizing because the drinks were taking a little time to come out, and even gave us a free dessert because of the inconvenience! The food was great as always, the olive oil cake is a must try for dessert- it tastes like my moms!!
Overall, had another great time at Barcelona Wine Bar. If you want to have a great time- Barcelona is the place to go! However, if you are looking to have a nice quiet dinner, I recommend somewhere else because Barcelona can get a little loud!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Carlos Penado, General Manager.Mar 3, 2024Previous reviewIf you're looking for a fun dinner spot with great shareable plates- Barcelona wine bar is your place! I came here with coworkers on a busy Friday night and the energy was amazing.
We had reservations for 7:45 but when we showed up our table wasn't ready and they told us to wait for a call & didn't mention an estimate on how long it would take. Lucky within 20-30 mins we got the call and were seated.
We ordered a ton of plates- the patatas bravas, the garlic shrimp, seafood paella, and grilled octopus to name a few. Everything was delicious and meant to be shared, the paella was a little salty for my preference though! The cocktails were fabulous, the one with chamomile infused vodka is a must have!
If you're looking for a late dinner place to grab drinks and food before hitting the bars or speakeasy's in the area- this is your place! - Apr 22, 20241 check-in
This place called Barthelona rocks! Tapas abound. Empanadas, credos, skirt steak, carpaccio, pork belly, pulpo, focaccia, deserts like the delicious olive oil cake, flan, cheesecake, salads, wines and cocktails and more! Twas delicious! Remember, tapas are small plates. Advantage, you can taste more kinds of dishes! Slight disadvantage but is expected when it's tapas, you may end up ordering more to get to taste all the other dishes, besides the obvious fact that the amount are in small portions.
The service itself was good. Support staff helping out was there supporting well. And the ambiance, a cozy cool barn gaucho style masculine darker tone vibe. Love love love the style! Cozy and on point with my taste!
Verdict - well, must try, especially if you haven't tried tapas or paellas.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Tonight was our first time at Barcelona's 14th street location; we used to live near the one in Cathedral Heights which was amazing! We really enjoyed our evening, but I want to highlight the main difference between these two spots- ambiance. Cathedral Heights was a really beautiful, relaxed, and more intimate date spot. 14th street location was loud, still beautiful, but more of a party atmosphere. Preference will completely depend on the person. Also this spot was so packed- to the point where it was uncomfortable (granted we did go on a Saturday night but the number of people shoved around tables kind of felt unsafe).
On to the food, which was excellent. We ordered patatas bravas, steak pintaxs, glazed carrots, two kinds of paella, chorizo with figs, and the croquettes. For drinks, we ordered flights and a few glasses of wine. The food came out quick but the drinks were slow. We loved all the food except the carrots- they were really bland.
We'll definitely try this spot again, but during a less popular time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

First and definitely not my last time here.
Service: The hostess and our waitress were all very excellent at what they did and provided timely and quality service.
Ambiance: whisk me away to NYC but keep me in DC lol. As a New Yorker by heart, this place made me reminisce of home-particularly in the lower East side of Manhattan on a cool summer night. The ambiance was beautiful and the place gave good vibe!
Drinks: GET the white sangria! That's it, that's the message!
Food: I have to say that you get more bang for your bucks by ordering tapas. Also, for a flat fee, the restaurant has a great deal in which you can try all of the tapas on the menu (not unlimited)
I decided to go with the patatas bravas and let me say this, it was so delicious!
The hanger steak was a fun twist to what I'm used to and they did not miss a beat! The steak was cooked medium/well and the flavor oozed with every bite.
Fun fact, I was totally stuffed after a few bites and ended up taking home most of the steak and the patatas...get the picture? It means that they serve very generous portions.
Overall, I would indeed visit this place again, maybe in the summer so that I can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful outdoor decor.
I absolutely enjoyed my time and cannot wait to visit again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Logan Circle's Barcelona is gorgeous! Got to have Happy Hour here with friends and tried some tapas I've never had before at other locations.
We started off with a bottle Caves Sāo Joāo Brut Rosé (50% for HH) and Brie cheese - an absolutely delicious combination.
We then enjoyed the Hanger Steak Pinxtos with Tahini, a kabob stick with beef, peppers, and a tasty mix of oil and spice.
I have to rave about the Lamb Carpaccio, a thinly sliced raw meat with lemon juice and pomegranates. While I was a bit dubious when I heard the ingredients list, I was very glad I gave it a try. The lamb was perfectly meaty and the lemon/pomegranate gave it such a fresh taste. Take a piece of bread from your basket (be sure to ask for it!) to enjoy this delicious menu item.
I ended the meal with the White Sangria, a very fruity, light taste that was a great way to cleanse the palette.
Logan Circle's Barcelona is an experience of unique flavors that is well worth visiting!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 23, 2024
My husband and I were craving tapas and we were in the area. We usually go for a meal but this time we came for happy hour.
I only gave it 4 stars because they should have more options for happy hour. There was only option for 3 drinks and the food options left us wanting and we had to order from the main menu.
The food tasted perfect but if you ask me, they should have more options than just filler items like olives and tomato smeared on bread for example.
Our server was great, very enthusiastic and made sure we had ordered to our bellies' pleasure.
We loved our drinks but they were quite small for $7 each granted they are labeled "mini" but you can get a full drink elsewhere for same price.
For future we will probably go somewhere else for happy hour to get more out of it.
For dinner though, this place is a must!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 2 - Dec 30, 2023
It was already 10:30pm when my friend and I were coming off a failed planned night, and she recommended this place . Gwen I say this place turned it around!
The vibes were amazing! It was packed but still very intimate for friends or a date night. We were greeted and seated right away! Automatic 2 stars because of the great service and menu selection! I love a great TAPAS place.
We ordered shrimp, grilled octopus which was EXCELLENTLY paired with the Mediterranean veggie mix btw, beef empanadas which came with a flavorful sauce that made me want to lick the plate and the Mediterranean salad. It was all very tasty. The drinks were strong but tasteful. I think we tried the short rib and weren't too impressed with the meat to fat ratio.
I wanted to try the lamb and create a charcuterie but I'll save that for next time! Highly recommended!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 11994Jan 13, 2024
The food is all small plates. I got a couple and a glass of wine. Came out to around $30 which isn't bad. We didn't have a reservation so we just ended up at the bar. It's virtually impossible to get a table without a reservation. Which was fun. The one bartender was nice but the other one just stared at us and didn't serve us. Really didn't pay any mind to us all night and we stayed a long time.
We asked for recommendations and he helped with that as well as was super conversational.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
