What kind of birthday gift do you give a dad that has pretty much everything? That's right, a food smoker! My dad likes to grill, so I figured that this would be the next logical step in BBQ evolution.
Since I know absolutely nothing about grills, the staff here couldn't have been more helpful. The salesman that helped me explained that there were 3 basic types of smokers (in case you were wondering, they are: gas, electric and charcoal) and he went on to explain the virtues of each. I told him that this would be a proverbial starter kit for my dad, since he's never smoked anything before. He pointed me towards a nice, entry-level charcoal smoker that ran about $60. In addition, he made some good recommendations in terms of wood chips to use, explaining which ones went best with which types of meat.
I have to say, the salesman was happy to answer all of my idiotic questions and did not hesitate to provide his recommendations. A pet peeve of mine is when a salesman says that "everything is good", which you know is a bunch of B.S. I couldn't recommend this place more!
