Bar Louie is a decent place to go when down on the levee. they have upscale bar food/menu items with cool twists for a chain place. The Tater Tots are awesome, I really like the Vesuvio Melt, and have had some other things like a club sandwich and southwestern chicken salad that were pretty good.

sometimes the place can get a bit douche-y but whatever. thats not really ever my final destination so its easy to ignore. Its definitely a good place to go for some late night dining.

Burger Quest Review:
bar louie $1 burger night

Burger: 2
pre-formed cooked medium well. not too dry, had good flavor for what it was

Bun: 2.5
untoasted kaiser roll, average

Toppings: 3
comes with lettuce. got blue cheese dressing, poorly sliced tomatoes, good pickles

Accoutrements: 4
$3 sam adams, the best tater tots ever. the chicken nachos are really good.

Atmosphere: 1
$1 burger night at bar louie is the WORST. it's packed, the service is slow to get to you when you first sit down, and its packed with amateurs. To our left was a table full of nerds, one of which brought in his own powerade, and then on our right a girl barely 21 threw up on herself. but dammit i had to have some tater tots and melissa wanted the chicken nachos.

normally, bar louie is just ok to a good time.

Overall: 2.5
average, and its only because of the tots. the dollar burger and dollar burger night make it like a nice cafeteria burger, but the good news is the normal burger is a lot bigger and better because its not on a freakin assembly line. still, its not the first place you'll want to go for a burger.

How can you not love Bar louie. The bartenders make amazing cocktails, the dollar madness is the best deal in town and service is always friendly and accomodating. Although people love the dollar burger , i have also ordered from the regular menu and it is really very good.
The crowd is a great mix of beautifully dressed up people, college go-ers, movie go-ers, couples and business executives. Its a huge space with tables which overlook the Ohio river, couple of pool tables, and an outdoor patio seating during summers. This place can really get crazy busy during early evening hours and baseball games.
Overall a great place to hang around in Northern Kentucky.

There aren't many places that give me a bad vibe, but this is one of them.  The bartenders have a horrible attitude.  The customers act like snobs, and there is little room for interaction.  Unless you want their $1 happy hour burgers, there is no other reason to visit this crap heap.

We ran across the Purple People Bridge right before Party in the Park officially ended on Wednesday to enjoy Bar Louie's weekly Burger Madness special.  This was my first trip to Bar Louie and I was amazed at the size of the restaurant, it appears to be much smaller from the exterior in the Levee complex.

Half of our group got to the restaurant at 9:10 and were able to instantly secure a large table overlooking the river to accommodate the 10 of us.  I was concerned that our waitress was not going to be able to handle our group, especially after it increased to 15, but she was efficient and friendly and got our ridiculous drink order (I'm pretty sure we each ordered a different crazy cocktail) out in minutes.

My Strawberry Basil cocktail was delicious and not too sweet.  My guy ordered the "beer of the month," Bud Light Lime, and was quickly told there were only two bottles left so he was able to order both.

We filled out our "Burger Cards" (if you haven't been on a Wednesday the cards are on the table and let you create your own burger at .50 cents for each topping) and handed them to our waitress.  Ten minutes later our piping hot and huge burgers came out exactly as ordered with baskets of tater tots and seasoned fries.  The burgers cost only $1 for the patty, bun, and lettuce on Wednesdays from 5pm-close.  What a deal, we were stuffed after eating them!

Our cocktails made up the majority of our bill ($8 each), three of us paid together for $33.

I dig on Bar Louie.  I've visited here a few times.  It ends up being a good spot to catch up with friends when I'm visiting Cincinnati.

I cannot really knock on the crowd as I go here to catch up with old friends as opposed to meeting new ones.

Try Wednesday nights!  Cheap burgers and reasonable drinks!  If I remember correctly $1 for the burger and $3.50 for my beer.  Nice.  I'll stop by on my next trip to town.

$1 burgers on Wednesday - now they charge you for every extra - cheese, pickles, etc... but still for $2.50 you get burger and fries and it's good!

After a movie at the Levee theater, we stopped in here for a drink late one weekend afternoon. It was not crowded at all, so we chose a table near the bar. Plenty of tvs to watch whatever events are going on. The drinks were good, prices reasonable. I'm sure it's a much different atmosphere late at night, weekends, etc.

Check out Bar Louie inside the Newport Levee complex ...We have been there three times for drinks/dinner before ballgames .....Each time or servers did a great job . They have a good selection of beers on draft and a menu that has something for everyone . Burgers were cooked as ordered and when they were out of the Sam adams special of the day the served was quick to offer other sam adams at the special price . Staff did a great job ...We will be sure to stop back.....

Are you a hot and sexy single looking for a yuppy night out on the town?  Then Bar Louie is the place for you.  Personally, I'm not a fan of the clientel, who I find pretty phony, but the martini's are good, and they have some interesting food (try the bacon-wrapped dates!) It also has a nice view of Cincinnati.  They also have a cheap burger night I hear (I've never been).  I've never had very great service here: just ordering drinks seems to take as long as a meal.  Anyway, it's not too bad if you can get past all the sand-blasted jeans, dye jobs, and dudes that wear too much cologne.
