Excellent location, 1 mile to downtown Bar Harbor. Rooms are very clean, small fridge in room, small flatscreen tv, strong free wifi.  No hidden costs. There is free coffee and hot cocoa from 6am-11pm in the lobby.  In ground pool (closed during this time of year), bike storage shed was helpful (and packed with bikes).  They let us throw our kayaks in there even though it shouldnt be.  Within 5 minutes of check in, we saw 3 deer right next to our hotel door from the wooded area next to us. Pretty cool!  There is also a bike path that connects to arcadia.  Free shuttles to downtown.  For a small affordable motel, you really can't ask for anything more.  The front desk staff is exceptionally helpful also and go out of their way to make everyone happy. We have been very satisfied with our stay. Keep in mind, this is not a 5 star hotel, I rate it 5 stars for an exceptionally run motel.

Immaculately clean, very friendly staff, quiet rooms, good laundry facilities, this place is a gem.

Convenient to Acadia NP (there is a trail into the park on property.

Nice bike room with air compressor.  Very nice pool though I didn't use it.

We stayed at the Bar Harbor motel for two nights- 6-10 to 6-12-07. We purchased one of the special spring Packages that included dinner at your choice of several restaurants each night. You basically got $19.00 credit per person and just oredered off the menu gave the waitree your voucher and paid the difference.

The desk staff were very friendly and very helpful- they helped us decide where to go for breakfast the one morning.

It's very convenient if you are taking the CAT Ferry to Nova Scotia. It's about 1/4 mile from the dock. It's also very convenient for exploring Acadia National Park (entrance about 1/2) and downtown Bar Harbor- although it is a bit far to walk there.

The motel itself is an older motor court type setup with multiple buildings with 4 or more units together each having it's own parking space and entrance. We had a room with a King bed. It was very roomy. the bathromm was a bit small but it was clean as was the room itself. The soundproofing between units is very good- we never heard a sound from the room next to us.

It does have Wi-fi- which is a must for me if possible. It worked with no problems and was fast enough for me.

There are no real complaints with this motel. There are just some things that would make it even nicer-  a continental breakfast and an indoor pool. Maine in June can still be a bit cool for an outdoor pool.

I highly reccomend this motel for anybody who wants a great place to stay at a reasonable price  The package deal including meals is a good deal as well. We ate at two different restaurants- Jameson's Steakhouse & Brew Pub (next to the motel)  and Poor Boy's Gourmet on Main St near the downtown shopping area. I'll be adding full reviews on them but basically both were good places to eat.

Stay here and you most likely will not be disapointed.

For a motel, this is worth five stars.

The motel is pretty from the outside and really clean on the inside. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are located in a cluster of like 4 rooms per building. There are patio chairs outside each room and even on the lawn and the chairs are clean. Almost everything in the room is new (with the exception of the aircon, which works well).  There is even a very new fridge in the room.

There is a giftshop at the check in area and they serve juice / coffee all day.

I give it five stars as the surrounding and room feels very clean and nice. Wonderful place to stay.

been staying here on and off for the last four years while visiting bar harbor. clearly the best buy in bar harbor accomodations.  extra nice is a trail from the back of the property into the park. rooms are always very clean, staff is always very helpful. nice grounds. there are fancier places and places on the water but all those are much more expensive. so if you want to splurge on a super romantic or luxurious location, this is not it. but if you want excellent value for money spent and a very clean, calm, well located base for exploring MDI, this is it.
