Damien is the man. I came here drunk and left wasted and slighly happier from trying the best pickle back shot of my life. The Polish-style pickle back shot with bison grass vodka and a small little gurken in the glass is an absolutely beautiful thing.
It's a bit on the small side for a bar, and I could see it getting a bit crowded, but I'm usually here around 2AM when the drunks return to their familiar faces to smile and sing a few songs. The bar has wine, but it's not your classic wine bar. I've found that it's better as a place to wind down a great night and have in-depth philosophical conversations with the good friend that will help you get home safely. Come by - I'm the loud drunk guy. -

Review from Kate W.
This is severely mislabeled as a wine bar. First, their selection of reds consisted of a whopping two varieties, and while the bartender was nice enough to let me try both, what they serve is barely drinkable. Second, the bar is very small without much room for people to walk past, so you will be bumped quiet frequently. Maybe it's a cool joint to hang out when you're looking for a dive bar, but if you're expecting a wine bar, keep on walking.

Cozy dimly lite bar in the middle of no where, but I like it. Krystian the bartender is extremely nice and makes a mean pickle shot!

I ended up here with a fellow Yelper the other night. It was our third stop of the evening and my favorite. Why? Lighting, lighting, lighting! I'm a big fan of dimly lit places, not because I have anything to hide, but because I like darkness. Yeah, I said it, I like the dark (so what if it makes me sound scary?)
I'm not sure I would classify this place as a wine bar because I didn't see many people drinking wine other than myself and it looked more like a regular bar. I had some red wine that was pretty good but a little on the sweet side. I'm not sure what it was because I didn't go up to the bar and order it, but it was ok.
Anyway, not sure if he was an owner but the bartender with the Garth from Wayne's World haircut kept coming by to check on us which was nice. If lived in the neighborhood, I'd revisit. -

I cant say enough about how amazing Christian and Damien are! I love a place where I walk in and they know what I want to drink, have a smile you almost feel like you received a huge hug!
They have great drink specials, a spectacular Foosball table and a great projector screen TV that is great to catch your games on. No too small and not too big.. always has great people and good times. Love love love!! -

I never gave a shit about neighborhood bars until 718 became my neighborhood bar. The bartenders are all great guys and they make great drinks! I love this place.

This place is just genuinely cool. It has low lighting and is never too loud. They have games, Foosball and a projector. The bartenders are all very friendly. There are awesome Sushi, Chinese and Mexican places next door where you can pick up food to bring over.
I especially like their window decorations and think they add a lot to this part of town. -

This place rocks. What a neighborhood bar truly should be. The bartenders and Owners are awesome, the atmosphere is so comfy, and the themed nights like movie night and pot luck night have really filled the void that Living Room Lounge left. Also the regulars rock. Especially this guy Gabe. He's dreamy.

Last night I found my way to the newly opened 718 Bar - through the snow to meet a friend and watch some Olympics.
It's a cozy, dimly lit space and this side of the neighborhood definitely needs a bar like this!
It's a stocked bar (vodka, whiskey, tequila, and more, yay!). And serves wine. I ordered wine and, well, my wine was just ok. Nothing great, but hey, I was thirsty. I was bummed that they served wine in a really cheap glass. Like Walmart cheap. At least upgrade to Ikea if you need to cut corners.
Second, while I'm a fan of dim lighting, I dislike the pendant kind that makes everyone look like they've got ginormous bags under their eyes or like I'm at a poker table. Whatevs, glad they have candles to add to a bit of ambiance.
I liked the deep red walls, the little tables/bench combo and projected video action (yay Olympics!), music seemed pretty decent - this place has a lot of potential.
I was pleasantly surprised that the bartender/owner kept offering to buy us the next round and the next and by the time I left, I must have had a whole bottle for just $16. Nice!Listed in: Sun Slope/Sunset Park/South…

I live in the area, and I never hit the bar scene in my hood, I would avoid it like the plague. But on a random Friday night,me and my neighbor decided to check out the local bars. After entering several bars in the area, (that shall remain nameless), we had one last resort, hence, Bar 718. Bar 718, is small, cozy real laid back atmosphere. Dimly lit,a big screen in the back, a full bar. The service I got here, was top of the line, superior customer service. The bartender was so nice, cool and down to Earth. To me his emphasis is on the people rather than the money, to me that's what sets this bar apart from other ones. Thanks to this bar am officially hooked on Kelso beer :). Now onto the crowd, there was a small percentage of women, that night, but me and my buddy decided to play foosball, I love foosball, and I definitely played. This bar, is as real as it gets, its not pretentious, nor targets a specific audience, I also love that they play all types of music. Unlike other bars, in the area that play one type, along with uptight hipster attitude. Overall, I think I found the bar, where I don't feel like a weirdo. This is the one that I've been searching for, and now I am found, thanks Bar 718, you're off da hook in Los book.

This is one of my favorite bars in Park slope. A lot of the places in Park Slope dont' really have the bar feeling going for me, but this place does. Its a real old school feeling bar. At the same time, the prices are pretty good, they have a happy hour special of 3 dollar beers. Their guiness pint during happy hour is 5 dollars, and its a pretty good guiness. All in all, its a good bar.

Bar 718 is THE neighborhood bar!!!!
I started going to this bar last summer, and have since become a regular! Friendly bartenders, great atmosphere, and such reasonable prices! Every day they have happy hour from 12 to 8, which is $1 off of everything!! This makes well drinks $3, pbr $2, $4 for bluepoint and other great drafts! My favorite night at the bar is probably on Sunday, when they have movie nights!! Seriously where else can you watch Ninja Turtles while enjoying a cheap beer with good company??!
There are also a lot of good restaurants to order from in the area, so you can have a snack while you relax at the bar. Just ask one of the super accommodating bartenders to see one of their menus. You can even bring your computer and get some work done because they have wifi, which is such a plus!!
All around a great bar for watching sports, movies, or just hanging out with friends!! -

They have taps in! I'm giving five stars for value. $5 for a pint of Magners. Even less for most of their beers. If you're unfamiliar with the mostly eastern european selection, the bartender will gladly give you a taste. Never too crowded, always a friendly face behind the bar. Could this be my Cheers?

There are so many places I pass in Park Slope without so much as a second glance -I didn't even notice Rachel's taqueria until the addition of that obnoxious neon sign- and this place, unmarked, unnassuming, cozy and dark pulled me in, quite literally off the street. 718 ticks off all the boxes of a great bar, its friendly and inexpensive, the playlist is perfect and the Staff is skilled and engaging, but beyond all of that, when you meet the regulars, or better yet find yourself drinking next to them into the wee hours, you suddenly understand the definition of kismet. Everything harmonious and all as its supposed to be. In less crunchy language: Its a wonderful place, filled with wonderful people. The Rosemary martinis are really light and delicious, the bathrooms are the cleanest I have ever seen in a bar and I have yet to leave there without a stranger having fed me french fries. Magic I tell you. Magic.

I visited this bar last night, and I definitely will be back. The bartender/owner was awesome and engaging, the drink selection was delicious (yay for Woodford Reserve), the decor inviting, basically everything I want in a bar.
