No doubt capitalizing on Doozo's success, Baoz Dumplings offers an compelling alternative to the big dog on the block. As opposed to Doozo's hulking round dumplings, Baoz's are dainty little half-moons, which you can purchase either steamed or pan-fried. I've only had the steamed pork dumplings, but they are head-and-shoulders above Doozo's in terms of taste and freshness (Doozo has the bad habit of letting stale/cold dumplings sit out for too long). Plus the sweet-and-sour dipping sauce is AMAZING. Not yet overwhelmed by the masses like Doozo, there is rarely a long line for Baoz, and the service is reasonably prompt.
The only knock on Baoz is that you don't get much bang for your buck--the prices are comparable to that of Doozo (i.e., $5.00 for 10 dumplings), but Baoz's dumplings are about half the size. I can easily down an order of 10 Baoz dumplings in 8 minutes and still be left hungry; if they upped the serving size to 12-15 dumplings for that same price (or maybe a wee bit more), I'd probably never go to Doozo again.
And FYI, the exact location of the restaurant is in the tunnels right below First City Tower.

Baoz Dumpling House.
I am not sure what else to say, by far the best pan fried dumplings I have ever had. This place is located in the Tunnels below downtown. Very quick and friendly service and the prices are TOUGH to beat.

My personal recommendations are the pan fried chicken dumplings with an egg roll.
Hands down best dumplings in Houston.
