My first bank account was with B of A. I remember fiddling with little bank books and getting excited to go to the bank. I stopped going to the bank for a couple years so they eventually deleted my account... what they did with the $10 or so left in it, I have no idea. But anyway, I have no problem with that. The next time I went to B of A, I was 18 and trying to get a head start with my finances. I opened up another account but they kept charging me with so many little fees. Poor little Cristine, a broke college student with negative growth in her bank account. Needless to say, I closed the account and moved to a credit union. The only problem with that the nearest branch of my credit union is a 20-minute drive from my house, which gets frustrating at times, although it's close to school and some of my relatives. Anyhow, two years ago I saved up a couple thousand and decided to open up a CD. I figured I'd go to B of A since I was too lazy to hop onto the freeway to my CU. Anyhow! I stepped into the branch excited to open up my first CD. I was helped by one of their VPs. Her name was Joanna (her last name escapes me). No joke she was gossiping on the phone during the WHOLE time I was sitting at her desk while she typed away at the computer (presumably) opening an account for me. When she did stop, it was to rudely ask for my driver's license. Unbelievable!! Needless to say I walked out with my money and took it to my CU which had a higher interest rate anyway. Unfortunately, a few friends/relatives have B of A so I've had to go back to either make a deposit for them or simply to accompany them. Always the service was haphazard and at times the workers unprofessional. I've worked in the customer service industry and understand the day-to-day hassles of working with people but seriously.  I've managed to get a couple of people to close their accounts and move to a CU. I HATE BANK OF AMERICA!
