It is here that I cash and deposit my checks in between classes and the like. I've always been met with very pleasant, attentive, and quick service, as well as understanding when I've had no idea how to fill something out.
I've also rarely dealt with lines.

What's so great about this Bank of America? Other than the fact that its big, essentially nothing. Due to its busy location near Herald Square, folks flock here to get their bank on by creating long lines to the tellers and even longer ones for the ATM machines. It can be a nightmare coming here during lunch time and after work and most of the time, the folks coming here look super frustrated. I'm not sure if they're more frustrated about waiting to get money or losing it. I am most frustrated when I discover the pens have been stolen and the calculators are broken near the deposit slips. One would think this place would have the funds to replace these things, but then again banks haven't been doing so well lately in our horrid economy.
Another note worthy thing is that this is a favorite spot amongst the homeless in the area. It is a perfect place to escape the cold and chill out from the heat, while begging for cash right after people get it out of the ATM machines. That unfortunately makes this BofA great for bums and bad for patrons.

They should change their name to Worst Bank of America. I swear. They are trying to kill me, get under my skin, and rob me for every penny I've got.
I have been a life long customer of BofA. My mommy opened up a joint account for me when I was in Kindergarten. And then I moved to the East Coast and put all my money into First Union. And then I moved back to the West Coast where I reinvested my moola into BofA. And then BofA pist me off for charging me fees for not having enough money in my savings account. Not enough money? I had more than a freakin G in that account. Well excuse me for being a poor pauper.
I walked over to WaMu where they offered free checking, friendly savings accounts, and GREAT customer service. Don't even ask me why I opened up an IRA with BofA. At the time it sounded like a good idea. Call it a decision based on convenience. BofA is on every freakin block. Call it a Monopoly. Call it brainwashing. Call it peer pressure. I did it because my friends did. And that day if they wanted to jump off the bridge, I would have done that too.
So now I'm back on the East Coast and wanna put some money into my old fogie fund. Well NY BofA says no that I can't because I opened up my account in Californ-I-A and they hate Californians. They hate my money. Actually, there's some law that says I can't. So fine. I'm a law abiding citizen. Let's be friends and roll over the money to a NY account.
Trickery I tell you! To make a very long story short, BofA lies to me and says they never closed my Cali account. Now I have two accounts and the new account says I deposited no money, have no signature to close the deal, and have listed no beneficiaries. When in fact, I deposited the money, have the voucher to prove it, have all the paper work, and have wasted over 8 hours with different Reps because every time I return to follow up on my account, a Rep has quit and the new Rep tells me a different story. Yes a story, because all BofA ever tells me is lies. And while I am there they try to sell me a new shiny red ball. No, I don't want your stupid credit card with a wolf on it.
Well aint this a sh*tty deal. 4 months later, I am still getting snail mail that my account is f*cked up. Thank you for ruining my night BofA. I hope the recession hits you hard.

Bank of America used to have a great cafeteria in Chicago with space age nightclub furniture that we liked to call the "BOA Room". Back then I would've given them 5 stars, but now they're changing their ATM fees for most non-customers to three bucks!
Reuters quote a consultant today who said, "It's possible that if they increase fees enough, at the margin it will encourage some customers to open accounts, to avoid them," he said. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard, but I'm sure they'll make lots of bucks off the fees, and I'll be annoyed if I ever go there by mistake.
