Not to many places in San Jose that focus on this, and focus on this well.
Freshly made. I really have no complaints except for the parking lot being crampy..
Picture menus are a plus..

Best place for Banh Cuon in the south bay. Not a sit-down place, just a food court, but tastes great. If you are white (like me) be prepared to eat plenty of fish sauce, and don't forget to add chili. You can't really enjoy it otherwise. Come on, don't be afraid!
I came here for some banh xeo since I read someone raving about it here. First of all, they told me they are not giving me two, rather they will make me a "big" ONE instead. I was like, why?? Why not simply make me two "smaller" ones instead like it shows on the menu? I know they're just going to stuff it with a bunch of bean sprouts that cost them probably a $1 and then charge me the same shitty ass price for it and I was right.
Anyway, so I waited for it to come and when it did it looked greasy as hell. Matter fact.. I know what they ended up making it out of.. and it was not the normal banh xeo batter but more like that oily-crispy cracker thing with a shrimp in the middle that they put on top of hu tieu soups. I think it was a combo of the batter or something because it looked just as oily and thick as those crackers.
Anyway, not only was it oily but there was a pool of grease on the dish too. MmMmMm yum.. I didn't know I ordered clogged arteries! I was excited to eat something healthy but goddamn.. they tryin' to bring you down with their crappy ass business and service.
ANOTHER creepy thing is the waiter guy just leaned against the wall facing our table and stared off into space and at me while I ate.. He looks all miserable and even when I was eating I could feel his eyes burning a hole through me... SMILE or something.
My hubby ordered the Mien Ga soup and they hella skimped on the meat. I think he got two little eggs and a few scraps of chicken.. it did not taste fresh or good.. Shame..

For those who hasn't tried Banh Cuon Tay Ho yet, you are totally missing out. I think there are enough reviews that attempted to explain what those little white things are and what they are filled with. I don't even care, each bite is like a party in my mouth. LOL. I swear.

Wow... everybody give 5 stars for this place and..... me too!
A typical Vietnamese restaurant, small place w/ mediocre decors, but great service, yummy food and cheap.
They are famous for their banh cuon (steamed rice sheets). They have many locations through out San Jose and Orange County for a reason.
Highly recommend the following 3 steamed rice sheets dishes:
#1: House special combination
#2: With char-boiled pork
#7: With ground pork
I haven't tried their noodle soup items yet but they looked really good as I took a peak at the table right next to me.
Ugh! I'm hungry now!

Was craving for some Banh Cuon and I was a little appalled from the Tay Ho inside Grand Century Mall...see my other review on what happened there...and the sneezing...
I decided to come here due to all the 5 star reviews on Yelp. As soon as I arrived, I noticed that the restaurant was in the sketchier part of San Jose and parking was scarce on a Friday lunch hour...
I parked by the grocery store and tried to get in...but tried all 3 of their doors, that were all locked...until I tried the 4th one...
I hopped in and was greeted w/ the menu that I saw on their website. I ordered their house special.
The Banh Cuon had numerous layers compared to the other Tay Ho. In addition, this one was a long noodle, instead of small dumpling like thingies
I wasn't too fond of their rice/bean cake and their bean sprout/cucumber salad. Their carrot/mini shrimp tempura cake...was interesting.
I was smart and didn't get a seat where I had a clear view of the kitchen this time...
The food was okay by my standards...nothing to write home about.
Total for #1 after tax and tip: $7.50
Excellent Service. Sweet people.
Stick to the Banh Cuon.
Food was really good however the portions for my togo order is noticeably smaller than what I would have gotten at another Tay Ho.
Hopefully they'll give you more if you dine in.
The best banh cuon combo in town!
I go here for the special combo AKA "banh cuon dac biet". They're wet noodles that are filled with minced pork and mushrooms. They serve it to you with an egg roll, steamed pork and these mung bean cakes. Along side of that it's served with bean sprouts, and cucumbers. You eat it with a fish sauce mixture. Meals cost no more than $5 before tax.
I could eat this everyday if I could...but then my breath would be kicking like crazy.

Pleasantly surprised how great this place is. Stick with the Banh Cuon. Get the #1 Special.
I love steamed rice sheets and this place makes it very good. You can get it with grilled pork or with any type of meat you want. The place is very easy to find as it is on the street corner. My mom's shop is in the same plaza and getting food here is a breeze. The menu has pictures and you actually get the food pictured in the menu.
i love this place. the people are SOOOOO friendly. fast service. the food is HELLA BOOOOMB and pretty cheap. i love their banh cuon cuz it's always fresh like they had just cooked it up. i ate there 2 days in a row and would still want some more. this is the best place for banh cuon in my opinion.. =) TRY iT!!
Just came back from here. I loved the service & the prices. The elderly waiter was very sweet & friendly, a nice change since most viet restaurants' service is cold. The menu has pictures of the dishes. You can also see it on their website. We ordered #1, ($5.75) a combo of banh cuon (pork filling inside a thin rice cake & shrimp flakes sprinkle on top), banh cong (batter w/mung bean inside), vietnamese style french fries (has shrimp in it too), pork cakes, & veggies.
Also got Banh Xeo-yellow pancake filled w/shrimp, pork, bean sprout, & white onion (came out w/a humongous oval plate of veggies), the best banh xeo I ever tasted at a restaurant. Each order has 2 pancakes. Both dishes came out piping hot. Each table has a pitcher of pre-made fish sauce & other condiments.
I really like this place 'cause the service is nice & the food is great. One of their location, located in grand century mall, also serves seafood hot pot ($10). We also ordered a plate of banh cuon w/pork filling topped w/french fries & pork cakes to go ($5.20). They also serves a wide variety of other dishes. Definitely recommended.
FYI: banh cuon is one of the staple breakfast food in viet nam.
Its not store #8 for nothing. It's some good cheap food. Parking is painful though. I just love it here.
