Love this place very tasty and priced well. Not too spicy unless asked for.

Place is clean and presentable on the inside.
Lunch specials are a good deal.
Clear chicken soup with vegetables is really good.
Food is mediocre. -

One... two stars. Thus far I have no five star Thai place(s), so with regards to that... As others have mentioned, the blandness factor, the over priciness, and general passion for true Thai cooking came into play during our dinner there. Our appetizers of steamed veggie dumplings and Summer rolls, not very inspiring and I think the two sauces which accompanied each dish were straight out of the jar, so to speak.
My main course of tofu and veggie jungle curry was very watery, an experience I have not come across before in all of my Thaifoolery. It was like spicy dishwater, let's not go there. The broccoli was cooked too much and the pieces of tofu were just added as an afterthought without any harmony with the rest of the dish. The Jasmine rice was just there and was not particularly fragrant. But the service while hurried was polite and efficient.
I am still looking for that go to local Thai joint and while we are glad we gave them a try we will not be returning. At least the parking was easy!

Food completely average Thai. . .didn't taste like homemade. . .but tasted pretty good. The summer rolls were awesome, yummy fresh basil/cilantro and very tasty peanut sauce. Curry Puffs were probably frozen and heated, but still tasty. Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew were passable, but nothing special.
Decent considering location and lack of other ethnic food around.
Atmosphere was vaguely diner-like, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Service was quick and cheerful. -

Attention Northern Westchester: Are you sick of pizza? Mediocre Chinese food got you down? Fear not: you now have the option of Thai food!
With Thai food, you can never predict the spiciness threshold, even when given options of "Mild, Moderate, and Super-Spicy." Sometimes I feel as though there should be a mandated chili/grams of food metric to maintain consistency across all Thai restaurants.
Predictably, the spiciness factor at Bangkok Spice is in line with the palate of someone in this area who isn't a huge "risk taker," shall we say. Mild is extremely bland. It isn't until you get to the "Spicy" threshold that the food has some "kick" to it.
For starters, we ordered the Clear Soup and the Tom Yum Soup. The Clear Soup is the perfect hearty soup if you're sick with the flu - lots of white meat chicken and vegetables in a chicken broth. The tom yum soup had a good spiciness threshold but there were only three very small shrimp. I was expecting a bit more substance for the price ($5).
As an additional appetizer, we ordered the Thai dumplings. These were excellent - who would have thought we could find such balanced dumplings (dumpling to filling ratio) in our area? Once again, four small dumplings were fairly pricey.
For the main courses, we ordered the Bangkok Seafood and chicken Pad Thai. The seafood was loaded up with calamari, scallops, shrimp, and mussels. It would have been nice to have this dish a bit spicier, otherwise it is pretty bland. The pad thai was a bit disappointing. The chicken was overcooked and the noodles were very dry and not very peanut-y.
Thank goodness we ordered the pad thai because sticky rice was not provided as a side with our seafood. For $18, I would have expected some sort of accompanyment for the dish.
3.5 stars, but I rounded up for how exceptional our appetizers were.Listed in: Northern Westchester

Bangkok Spice, you are yum.
The clear soup was my favorite part of the entire meal. I would highly recommend it. The chicken skewers were not as good as I thought they would be.
The entrées were pretty good. I tried 3, but my favorite was the thick noodles with chicken- YUM! (don't remember the name) The pad thai was also decent. One of the entrées was supposed to be spicy, but by no means would I say it it was spicy. Luckily, if you really want some fire, just ask for some hot sauce and they will give you a little bowl. :)
For dessert, I would definitely recommend the mango sticky rice and the pineapple encased in rambutan. You will not want to share.
The place was empty when I went, so that may explain why the service was so good. Regardless, the lady who served us was very nice and attentive.
Overall, if you are in the area and want Thai, I would recommend coming here. I would eat here again. -

A hidden gem. Don't be put off by the ramshackle appearance or the quiet, isolated, maybe desolate location. This is some very good Thai food especially given how far out of the way it is. Try the curry puffs appetizer.

Sooo delicious! Best restaurant in Shrub Oak, and on top of that I'll say best Thai food in Westchester County (I've been to most of them). Very clean, with a very nice staff.
Lunch specials are very reasonable with huge portions. I usually order Pad Thai or Thai Fried Rice.
For dinner, their curry dishes are excellent. My fiance is obsessed with the Jungle Curry. Mango curry was different in a good way. Oh, and the Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice....you won't regret it! -

What an unlikely place for such a fabulous restaurant.
The sweetie and I have been here multiple times and the food is always fresh, heaping, and absolutely delicious. Our favorites are the Papaya Salad, Roti Canal, and the Mock Duck.
The service is gracious and the food always arrives speedily, even on a busy Saturday night when almost every table was full.
The prices are really reasonable considering two people could share most of the entrees.
Bangkok Spice is a refuge in what is otherwise a culinary wasteland. (And the library is right down the road. Yay!) -

In a region of Westchester devoid of culinary delights, this is a much-needed, welcome establishment.
Eat in or take out, the food is equally generous and delicious. In fact, the vegetarian Jungle Curry has been so consistently delicious that I haven't gotten around to trying any other entrees. The thai iced drinks are consistently yummy and there is a selection of bargain-priced wines (go ahead and treat yourself!) to go with. My fiance has tried the other curries and gives his thumbs-up. Of course, spring rolls, summer rolls, and the house salad are all great starters.
Definitely the best thai food in this neck of the woods. For the price, you can't beat it! -

In search of another Thai restaurant to add to our list of places to dine we figured let's give Bangkok Spice a try. The parking lot was dark and poorly lit but seemed to make up for the lighting with a bright lighting in the dining room. We were promptly seated and handed menus. For beverages I had a Thai Iced Tea which was mediocre and lacked the traditional sweetness that comes across at all of the other Thai restaurants I have had the pleasure of patronizing. The Summer Roll which was served for an appetizer was flavorless and missing the fresh taste that is associated with a summer roll. For my main course I had the Vegetarian Duck (Seitan) with Thai Basil Sauce. This dish was supposed to be a spicy dish but did not even have a hint of spice to it. The Imitation Duck (AKA imatatduck per the menu) was flavorless and the string bean where cooked into total submission. I must admit the dish did have a trace of basil flavor to it so that would seem to be the only part of the dish that fit the description given on the menu.

my mild panang dish was way too spicy (and i can take medium in general... at the new place i always order mild just in case and this was the "case")

Pleasant surprise after reading the review here and tried it out tonight. Will go back again for sure. We had a nice dinner with great tasting Thai dishes - Pad Thai, Curry House (lots of favor), Jungle Curry Shrimp, Tom Yam soup and Thai Iced Coffee.
