My hands down favorite Thai restaurant in town, only topped by it's 3rd location, Bangkok Cuisine South, because of its new decor.

My husband and go here for our Valentine's Day dinner every year.  The service is friendly, prompt and attentive.

The dishes we're 'stuck' on are the pad thai & the Bangkok Sizzling Platter.  The pad thai is filled with chicken, shrimp and bean sprouts, just the way I love it!  The Bangkok Sizzling platter has a delicious coconut sauce that we have scoop every last drop of!

I don't really even know what to say that people don't already know about this place.  The service is excellent, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the food is probably the best Thai I've had in Reno.  I myself am partial to Green Curry with sticky rice, which is to die for here, and Pad Thai, which is also deliciously prepared.

Additionally, while the menu has all the Thai Lover's staples, there are also some fun appetizers and entrees that encourage some straying from the norm.  All and all, delicious-- I just wish I hadn't lived here almost 8 years before trying it out!

This is my favorite Thai place in town.  We get seated fast, the food is served quickly and is always hot. The atmosphere is nice and quite so it's great for a date like outing.

I've also gotten take out and I couldn't believe how fast they are!  Would recommend this place to anyone.

I am a pretty big fan of Thai food and visit Thai restaurants often when I'm traveling as well as cook it at home.

The service at Bangkok Cuisine was friendly enough, but the food really fell flat. Everything was overly sweet and there was no hint of spice in anything we were served (nor did the waitress ask about our spice preference, so I assumed it would be the standard Thai spice level - HOT!). I even salted my food (in addition to adding lime juice and sambal chili paste) in an attempt to counteract all the sugar. The curry and peanut sauces didn't contain a hint of the coconut milk they should be based on. For the record, we ordered a soup, the green papaya salad, and the sizzling platter.

I went here with my fiancé and two friends near closing. They accomodated us with no problem. The service was attentive without being annoying.

We got pad Thai, yellow curry and cashew chicken. All of it was yummy. Having been to Thailand I definitely am skeptical and this place was very authentic.

Decor is amusing and elaborate, it's a comfortable atmosphere.

Price was comparable to other Thai places. We checked in on yelp and got 15% off no problem, just showed them my phone! Would eat here again.

Bangkok Cuisine Thai Restaurant has two locations, this one on Mt Rose in Reno, and another called Bangkok Cuisine South. There is also a Bangkok Cuisine Express, but not sure if it's the same ownership.

The restaurant looks small from the outside, with its warnings of what lot to park at as you walk in (pick the more obvious one next door and you may get towed, so park in the lot in the rear, not on the side!), but inside it is a bit larger, with a cozy atmosphere and quaint village-like decor and the obligatory picture of the Thai King and Queen near the kitchen.

They are offering a 15% discount for Yelpers, so check in here and reveal the coupon on your iPhone and show your waitress, and they will take 15% off your bill (excluding alcohol)!.

The food is pretty good, and they offer a large and typical selection of Thai favorites at reasonable prices. They have perhaps a dozen Apps, ranging from $4 - $7, and if you can't make up your mind, you can get the sampler tray for $14: 2 Curry Pops, 1 Spring Roll, 2 Thai Sticks (not the weed, the Satay!), 2 Shrimp Tempura, 2 Shrimp Rangoons and mixed veggie Tempura.

They have 10 salads including Papaya, Seafood Combo, Nam Sod, Duck Laub (in the $7 - $11 range). There are 8 different soups, a handful of noodle dishes (Pad Thai $9 or $10), Fried Rice dishes (4 to choose), and over 25 entrees, Curries, and House Specials (all $9 - $15 depending on meat selection).

They also have traditional desserts of deep fried bananas or sweet rice and mango ($5 or $6).

The food was very tasty, perhaps a bit too salty but with good flavors, and the service was good. We had a little personal drama due to a mix-up of coke vs diet coke for a diabetic in our foursome, but other than that, it was a good place for Thai.

Check out their website, it is informative and professional, with peaceful music.

Very charming and elegant inside! We were dressed casual and warmly welcomed. If you check-in here you get an instant 15% off coupon that the waiter will honor. Yea!

We had the Tom Kha soup, it was the best I have ever had. The perfect balance of coconut, lime and lemongrass with crunchy veggies. The papaya salad was fresh and fantastic. The red curry was creamy and traditional. Treat yourself to the Mango and Sticky Rice for dessert, it is delish and the Mango was perfectly ripe and sweet. It's our new favorite place in Reno!

After living on Guam and having a more-than-wide-array of choices for Thai restaurants, I have become picky about my Thai food and it's become a staple in my diet. Moving to Nevada was hard because I had to rely on my own cooking skills and Thai is a hard cuisine to master, but I'm glad I discovered Bangkok!

We had Shrimp Satay that almost left my boyfriend and I licking the plate and most definitely fighting over who ate the last piece of shrimp. I had pineapple fried rice not wanting to take too much of a risk at a new place, but I am SO glad I did! If you want shopping mall fried rice, don't go to Bangkok. Bangkok will deeeeelight your taste buds with chunks of pineapple. I was happy to take home to Fallon the leftovers! Boyfriend had duck curry and was pretty impressed. We finished the meal with coconut ice cream and let me just say... I love ice cream. In fact, I'm a freak. Coconut ice cream can fail hard if too much oil is added or ya know... it can go wrong. But nothing was wrong with Bangkok's. Their ice cream tastes like ALL coconut ice cream SHOULD.

Bangkok can easily be my favorite Thai restaurant stateside. Oh yeah, I mean it.

I have never had a bad meal here, and some of the fare is easily among the best Thai food in Reno.  The service is fairly attentive & friendly, and the prices are about what I expect for this kind of restaurant.

On my most recent visit there were only two service issues: the sterno in our satay warmers kept going out, and it took several re-lights before the waiter finally accepted the need for a replacement.  (It would have made more sense if he'd just done that after the 2nd time the burner went out).

The waiter also seemed to have a problem understanding our request for two separate checks. He agreed, then proceeded to tally everything on a single check (with two balances).  This was awkward; the (obvious) reason for requesting a separate check is to pay for the meal with two separate accounts.  Since he couldn't seem to spare another piece of paper, I tore the check in half and presented my portion to the cashier on our way out the door (another minor irritant, in that we were presented the check in the customary mini-portfolio but he never came back to collect it).

At any rate, the meal was excellent.  My wife's chicken/vegetable curry was done quite well, although very mild.  A few crushed chili peppers took care of the mildness just fine.  :)  My noodle combination plate was very tasty, although the noodles weren't what I expected.  Since the dish is listed in the same section as Pud Thai, I was expecting that sort of noodle.  Instead it included some large, flat, flaccid things that just kind of flopped around the shrimp, squid, chicken, beef, pork and broccoli.  The sauce was pretty damn tasty (especially after I hit it with some chili sauce); if they'd serve that stuff on top of pud thai noodles, it would instantly be my favorite thing.

One of our friends had some kind of soup (which he loved), and the other two ladies had some kind of salad which seemed to be making them happy.  The small salad my wife ordered with her meal was perfectly fine (dressed in a peanut/tamarind sauce), and the pork & chicken satay were pretty damn satisfying.  Peanut sauces are pretty easy to make, but also easy to screw up.  Their versions of this Southeast Asian staple are top-notch.

This should be a five star review, but I'm subtracting one star for the service missteps.  Perhaps another visit will bump 'em up a notch?  I'm curious to try their version of "Spicy Crispy Duck"!

    I LOVE this Thai restaurant!
My favorite dish is the Sizzling Chicken Platter. It is so flavorful! Chicken, spinach, cucumbers and peppers in a coconut and peanut sauce that comes to you on a hot skillet with white rice! Any dish you get, though, will be tastey and worth it!
Plus, as an added bonus, my fav dish is only $10!!!

We wanted Thai and a "check in 15% discount" made the decision in this situation.  Glad we did.  I just LOVE the green papaya salad.  The wife ordered the Salmon Panang curry.  Just a note warning.  While being awesome and wonderful, it was also not as "soupy" as a regular panang curry.  It was almost just a glaze for the salmon.  Again it was EXCELLENT, no negatives.  Just a caution to someone who may want a saucy curry.

Loved the Meegrob.  Love this place.  It's our "go to" nice place when it comes to Thai.  One thing I really love is that, both the south and north Bangkoks actually have spent good money and effort to give me an atmosphere that says..."hey I am dining out in a nice establishment" this seems to be very lacking lately.  Maybe it's just that I am a little old school, but some dining just needs to be an event and not a feed trough.

An escape from the casinos. Was actually here on a previous trip earlier this year and returned. What initially lured us in was the 15% yelp check in offer. It's Thai so it's not that expensive to begin with, but an extra discount is always appreciated. Food was solid. Had the seafood soup which had lots of seafood. Pad Thai, and a Duck Curry were both good too. Seemed fairly full for a Saturday dinner which usually indicates that it's at least a decent restaurant. Another bonus for the value - they provide white rice at no charge. A nice surprise since most restaurants charge anywhere from $1-2 a bowl these days!

Despite some of the good reviews I thnk this place is ok. I just flew in from Vegas to visit my sister and I wanted some Thai food to eat. She recommended this place. I ordered the beef pad see eew and the papaya salad. The pad see eew- noodles tasted old, vegetables were too wilted and overall too sweet. Papaya salad- it was okay, it came with pieces of beef on the side. The taste and tuffness reminded meow Jack Daniels beef sticks....

Would i come back here? No.....

I have never had one bad night in Bangkok! This place is quiet and tastefully decorated with relics and pictures of Thailand. The dining area is intimate and calming, and service has always been friendly and efficient. I am always surprised at how quickly my food arrives.

I enjoy me some good spring rolls and bangkok has great ones- fresh and crisp vegetables wrapped up with a hint of mint, paired perfectly with a delicious peanut sauce.

Although there are many tantalizing items on the menu, I cannot help but order the sizzling platter every time I dine here. Sometimes I switch it up and get pork but it is best, in my humble opinion, with chicken. The meat comes sizzling hot on a bed of spinach and peppers, and is covered with fresh cucumbers and a spiced up variation of peanut sauce. So good heaped upon the steamed rice provided with each entree.

Thanks to the ease of sharing these dishes, I have had the pleasure of trying the crispy duck, which my dad claimed to be some of the best duck he had eaten. I have also sampled the curries-red, yellow, and green. I like the red best but they are all great- smooth, creamy, and coco-nutty. I am cookoo for coconut.

A visit to Bangkok would not be right without the Thai iced tea. It is orange and earthy tasting, topped with sweet cream. I swear by Thai iced tea- not only is it tasty but  I believe it can cure a bad hangover. Bonus!! I also have to mention the sweet sticky rice with mango. MMM MMM good...

This place is awesome. The portions leave me perfectly satiated, but not stuffed and sluggish. The prices are surprisingly low for quality authentic Thai family recipes. One night in Bangkok and the world will surely be your oyster too!

I rarely eat in restaurants for health reasons: too much sugar, too many empty calories. The service was great; but, the food was so-so. The tofu I had was more soggy than crispy; and, it tasted as if it was fried in oil that
was recycled from frying chicken. It wasn't as bad as it sounds. The curry was okay, but I can prepare better curry at home; it was on the sweet side. I attended an event that took my entire day, and I like to eat before 6 each day; so, I had no choice. I have always wanted to try this place since I moved to the area 6 months ago. Sorry, I'm spoiled from living in SF with several good Thai places within a mile from my home.

I think that the food here is amazing--it is definitely the best Thai food in Reno. When I lived in Reno, I went to lunch at Bangkok whenever I had the chance. My BFF introduced me to this place, and I am forever indebted to her.

My favorites: Shrimp Rangoons, Sizzling Platter, and the Chicken Panang Curry. Yum...my mouth is watering...

Service is good, and the food is great at the home location and the South location.

    OH.MY.GOD.

The Pad Thai is SO GOOD I'm drooling just thinking about it. How can Pad Thai be that good you ask? The texture, the seasoning, the perfect amount of meat to egg to sauce to noodle ratio?

Spring rolls and green curry were good but generic.

Everyone here was ordering the sizzling meat, will definitely have to try that next time!

Great lunch specials with very good portion sizes.  I had the chicken Pad Thai with the pepper chicken as the second entree choice.  The Pad Thai was decent but I wasn't a fan of the pepper chicken (it wasn't prepared poorly or anything, I just wasn't a fan).  Peanut sauce on the side costs $1 but it was a great addition to the meal.

The Tom Ka Gai was a bit thin but tasted great, though I felt that the chicken was [slightly] overcooked.

The service was *Excellent* and they didn't know I was a Yelper until after they produced the check.

When I go out to eat at a restaurant there are two things that strongly catch my attention. The food and the service. Why else go out, right?

Let's start with the food. The food is the reason this restaurant is even getting its second star. I am 100% Thai and I can say that I enjoy authentic and Americanized Thai food. I ordered Panang curry and shrimp Pad Thai. The curry was really mild as far as spice went, and it really disappointed me that the waitress didn't even ask how spicy I wanted it. To rate my second dish, well... Pad Thai is something hard to rate for the fact that every restaurant has a very unique way of making it. However, I'd have to say the Pad Thai here was excellent it really reflected Thai culture in the layering of the flavor. They nailed sweet, sour, savory, and nutty.

Now for the reason this restaurant is getting such a crappy review from me. The second I sat down, the waitress had a grim look on her face that seemed like "hurry up and order so I can get on with my life." Never used the 3 golden words a waitress should say "Please" "Thank you" and "You're Welcome." To really put the cherry on top, I overheard an employee speaking in Thai "These people have no manners at all! They're taking pictures in a restaurant" referring to my party of course. First of all, the reason I was using a camera in the restaurant was a school project for my English class where I was reviewing a restaurant. Second of all, how is taking pictures in a restaurant rude? That's free promotion right there.

After finishing my meal, I showed my English class why dining out is worse than making your own food.

1:24-4:10 reflects my review on this restaurant if you're curious.

Pretty decent Thai food for a reasonable price.

This is a good place to go if you don't feel like waiting in line and paying $20+ for the plethora of Reno buffets. The restaurant is clean and the service is efficient and friendly.

We started with the Fried calamari appetizer. I would pass on this because it's only fried calamari rings w/ "banana ketchup" dipping sauce and some cucumber slices. Nothing special there.

For our entrees, we ordered off the specials menu: We got the Eggplant sautee with chicken and the Seafood pot (shrimp, calamari, mussels, tilapia, crab, and pineapples cooked in a coconut milk soup). Both our dishes were pretty good. We thought that the seafood pot was a curry dish, but it's not. It's actually more like a soup.

Our bill came out to be around $35 for two people. We were stuffed. The food was good but nothing blew me away. I would come back to give this place another try and maybe order curry and noodle dishes instead.

Came here last night with a couple friends. Overall it was a good experience but we sat right by the kitchen exit and some of the food that came out of the kitchen was on fire or something. There was so much smoke to the point that we were choking and having a hard time breathing. So that kind of sucked.

Foodwise, we started with the papaya salad and coconut fried shrimp. I thought the papaya salad was excellent and we make papaya salad at home all the time. It was served with some homemade beef jerky and sticky rice and was simply delish. The coconut shrimp was ok - the shrimp itself was kind of flavorless but the dipping sauce was ok - bit too sweet. There were only 4 shrimp too!

For our entrees we shared the pumpkin red curry, fried duck and vegetable pad thai. I think the pad thai was pretty good but nothing to rave about. The pumpkin curry was good too but nothing spectacular. The duck dish was disappointing - we thought it would be whole pieces of duck that were fried and crispy but this was basically a duck breast, fried and served with a overpowering sauce that made the duck soggy. The last thought that annoyed me as well was that they charge $3 for brown rice.

So if I lived nearby, I'd probably come by for the salad and maybe the curry if I was craving Thai. Will I drive back here from the bay area, no. I'd probably give it about 3.5 stars if I could.

Best Pad Thai ever, I always make a point to try it at other places when I travel and nowhere has ever even come close to the amazing flavor here. I love it, favorite Thai in Reno hands down.

Bangkok's Thai is consistently excellent and always fresh--a dozen visits and great every time.

I typically enjoy their $7 lunch specials that are fun because you get to try 2 entree choices from the 5 offered daily. The chicken red curry with bamboo shoots has fresh chicken pieces, red bell pepper slices, and bamboo shoots in a delicious red curry sauce. The Pud Thai is soft and delectable. The beef with basil is another great item with a hearty brown basil sauce.

I didn't much care for the beef with broccoli when I had it. Though the flavor was as expected with fresh broccoli pieces, the beef wasn't as tender as one might expect with Chinese beef with broccoli.

The Shrimp Rangoon was crispy fried, filled with a shrimp flavored pinkish cream cheese. A colleague of mine at the table with me swore it was previously frozen, but I'm not so sure.

Not the best Indian food I've had by any means. My red curry was ok but everyone else got yellow curry and it was super greasy. Not very appealing at all to have grease swimming around with a tiny bit of curry! Blah! Another thing is I wasn't expecting the prices to be so high! The restaurant is in a part of town that seemed very questionable to me. I mean we were concerned about parking the car where we could see it. The inside is very decorated with pics and statues but to me that doesn't justify such high prices. Been here done that and never again, that's the way I feel about this place.

I went to this place last week and had dinner. The food was good, probably some of the best Thai Food I have had in Reno.

The restaurant from the outside looks ok, but the inside is clean and formal.

The service at this place was interesting. My server was a bit too rushed and took a long time to order, receive drinks and food, and get the bill. One side of the restaurant seemed to be getting served a lot quicker.

The prices were spendier compared to some other thai restaurants I have been to. The main specialization at this place seems to be duck.

The parking lot has tight spots, not up to code and makes it terrible to park and leave. Definitely not excursion and big vehicle friendly. I had to crawl in through the passenger side door just to get into my truck followed by a 10 point turn to get out of the parking lot. I would recommend parking on the end so you will have an easier go at getting into your car.

    YAY BANGKOK!

My boyfriend and I love eating here, and taking our out-of-town friends here as well, it is definitely one of the best Thai Food restaurants in Reno. The service is always friendly and prompt and the food is always served fresh off the heat!

The thai tea is so good, a waiter even gave me a bit of the mixture to take home! GOODIE!

Price is decent for the quality of food you get!

This is the Bangkok to eat at! It's sister down the street still has some kinks to work out..

Bangkok Cuisine is one of my favorite restaurants in town! Excellent food and great service at a good price!  I have not had anything I thought was less than amazing to eat here! The chicken coconut soup is a staple for me!  The Thai omelet is a favorite as well and not something I would usually order.
I would highly recommend trying Bangkok Cuisine if you have not yet already.  There are many Thai restaurants in town but none come close! The lunch specials are amazing too! Hope you enjoy as much as I have!
