I ordered delivery from here once.... ONCE! I had the volcano shrimp which consisted of about five little shrimp under about a pound of various half chopped vegetables. The volcano sauce, or whatever that stuff was called was borderline inedible, it was more of a thick chili paste but it wasn't even spicy. The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the dumplings, they were decent.

this used to be the stand-by thai place. somewhere along the way they changed owners or chefs or something. during that transition, they decided to go "upscale" which consisted of adding a soundtrack of really terrible music, turned up too loud and jacking up the price.
it was all really bland and overpriced. to me, that defines a bad restaurant.

Great little hole in the wall that I prefer over Royal Thai just around the corner. Their Tom Yum (lemongrass broth) or Tom Kha (coconut milk-my FAVORITE) soups are insanely the best I have had in Dallas, and they aren't scared to throw some spice into them. I am also addicted to their Basil Noodles w/ chicken. Their dumplings are also fabulous. Their Pad Thai is served a bit too sweet to my likings w/ orange peels, but I have seen it served this way in other restaurants, so it may be a personal preference.
My husband & I come to Bangkok City bi-weekly for the soup. They have take-out & delivery which is nice. They also have a dinner special for $11 or so that includes an egg roll, choice of soup, and choice of entree (about 6 options) that is a nice deal.

Alas, my search for good Thai delivery will continue unrewarded. I was so excited to find a 5-star review on CitySearch for a Thai restaurant 2 miles from my house, but I doubt I'll be ordering from Bangkok City again anytime soon.
For $40, my girlfriend and I got the Tom Kha Gai soup, a 5-pc dumpling appetizer, the Pork Pad Kee Mow, and the Gra Pow Duck with sticky rice.
If there's one thing this place DOES do well, it's appetizers. The Tom Kha Gai (coconut soup with chicken and mushroom) and the dumplings were both outstanding. I may stop by and grab a pot of that soup to-go the next time I get a craving. But the starters were pretty much where my amazement ended.
The $13 "chef's special" Gra Prow Duck was a real let-down. I normally love duck, but not when it's breaded and fried (which the menu did not say). This is a terrible way to serve a meat with such a great texture and natural flavor. It was accompanied by little more than white onions, which did not save it. Also, they charged me an additional $2 to upgrade to sticky rice, of which I took no more than two bites. It was a cold, solid mass in its container by the time it made it to my door.
My girlfriend was equally unimpressed by her pork entre. The pork, which is normally the most tender of the three main meats in Asian food, was dry and chewy. Neither of us finished our meals.
I wanted so badly to like this place because of the convenient location. Maybe the food just doesn't do well for delivery. If the total had been maybe $25-30, I may have just thought, 'At least I got what I paid for.' But it wasn't, and I didn't.
Oh well, at least I know where to satisfy my Tom Kha Gai cravings.

Why in the world would you remove the best item from your menu? The pineapple chicken curry was truly amazing. And now? Gone. You can still beg them to fix it, which I do, but they no longer prepare it the way they originally did. Instead, they drop these tiny tomatoes in the dish that get in the way more than add to the taste. A tragedy. That being said, it's still a nice dive, good service, and the large screen television always has something strange playing, a quirky little touch. The portions are large. Don't try to eat it all in one sitting. Take some home, and enjoy it the next day. Parking is a hassle during peak dining times. Dang. What happened to the pineapple chicken curry? Sorry. I won't be able to let go of that for some time.

Amy used to drag me to this place, and I would do anything I could to get out of going there. The first time I went, I ordered the Pad Thai. This was easily the worst Pad Thai that I have ever had, and it pretty much set the tone for my feelings about this place. The Pad Thai was very citrusy and sticky and thick. I didn't even taste nuts in it. It was pretty gross. Then Amy made me go again with her dad when he was in town. I tried something else, which was awful, but I don't remember what it was. Her dad got some potato-ish dish that came in what looked like gravy or something. Ack! The only reason that she was able to get me to ever set in foot in there again was because they do have a really good soup. I like the Tom Yum because I hate coconut milk, and it's pretty good.
Now, there is 1 dish in there that I like, and we go there periodically for it. It's their basil noodles. If it weren't for their basil noodles and soup, they would be staring at 1 star. I'm getting kinda nauseous, just reliving all my bad experiences there. I hope you guys are happy.
Oh and they have a horrible parking situation. There are about 5 spots that are designated for the restaurant, and the rest have signs posted that you will be towed. Sometimes you can park on the street, but that's even difficult because there is a bar behind them that fill most of those spots. Man I hate this place.

This place looks like a dive from the outside, but it is deffinitely worth entering. Inside, it is a nice place decorated with wood paneling. I went on a weeknight and it was pretty empty.
The food was great. I was dissapointed when I realized I was so full that I had to stop eating. I ordered the Green Curry Chicken and the Thai dumplings. I'd deffinitely consider ordering both of them again. On spicy items, they let you choose the intensity of the heat. Most entres are about $10.
