A really solid Thai resaurant. I like that this is kind of hidden next to down-town Kennsaw. Thai in an old house, kind of like Rice in Roswell.
Friendly wait staff, never been loud or over crowded. The food is consistently good and the prices are somewhere in the middle for a Thai place.
Oh yeah, and the chairs are on wheels. What more could you ask for.

As a Thai food loving vegetarian I especially love any restaurant that claims right on its menu: "Vegetarians Welcome". What more could I want?
Bangkok Cabin may be off the beaten path for most Atlantans, but for anyone living or working in the Marietta or Kennesaw area it is well worth the vist. Or, why not take a day trip from Atlanta? Visit Kennesaw Mountain with a picnic lunch of Spring Rolls and Spicy Tofu Veggies.
Since I work and live not too far from Kennesaw, I occasionally visit Bangkok Cabin, a Thai restaurant in an unlikely area, old Civil War bastion, Kennesaw, Georgia. Not exactly a welcome place for any minority not long ago, but now a virtual melting pot, and home of one of the best Thai restaurants in the metro area, if I do say so myself. It is housed in what appears a literal "cabin", with a full house sized front porch facing Cherokee Street, the road leading into Kennesaw proper.
In warmer months you can dine on the porch, or of course in the cozy dining room with long table cloths and plush chairs with wheels on the legs. I prefer to sit outside without a tablecloth on my lap.
Lunch specials include your choice of select entrees and a salad with peanut dressing (which is incredibly soupy for some unknown reason - skip it and get the Tom Yum Chicken Soup - unless you're vegetarian, and then you can slurp your salad), and Jasmine Rice, for $6.49. I love the Spicy Vegetables and Tofu, just spicy enough to make my eyes water and cause a cough or two, and with plenty of yummy Thai Basil, tofu always cooked perfectly.
For dinner I like to get the Garlic and Black Pepper (with choice of meat, but I ask for tofu and it's never a problem to substitute). Very light garlicky black pepper sauce over chunks of tofu served on a bed of steamed veggies ($8.95). The Spring Rolls are a standard starter, $4.50 for four, with a fabulously flavorful dipping sauce. And if more than the entree accompanying jasmine rice is needed for a rice fix, the Spicy Basil Fried Rice (with added meat, or tofu), $8.95, really hits the spot.
The staff is so accustomed to accomodating vegetarians they ask if you want egg when you order a fried rice dish. Vegans welcome! However, if, unlike me, you do not wish to practice "purposeful ignorance", you might want to ask which dishes contain fish sauce, and perhaps see if they will omit it for you. I haven't gotten that far yet, but I will next time I order up.
My only complaint so far has been with ordering dishes claiming "shiitake mushrooms" - they do not use shiitakes, but regular white button mushrooms. No mention has been made to the kitchen staff upon noticing this glaring error, besides a quick email submitted via their web site, but a future mention live and in in person may be in order.
For good Thai food, sauces light and extremely flavorful, and a welcome accomodation of vegetarians and vegans alike, give Bangkok Cabin a try the next time you're feeling up for the drive, or if you're ever in the Marietta/Kennesaw area. It's well worth it.
