Review from Jeff s.
Dukedom, TN
I was in Germantown Tennessee to see a doctor. On my way back going through Cordova; I told my niece to look for the first Chinese food looking place she could find because we were going to celebrate good news. I can always find a way to eat Chinese food. My niece points out the Bangkok Alley. I pulled in and we went inside. Immediately she pointed out that it did not have a buffet!! I said, " Great, now you will taste some really freshly cooked oriental food without it sitting in steam pans all day".
The atmosphere was quite and had a home town feel in a busy city. An eastern India group was in the back as we ordered. I noticed a lot of curry dishes on the menu when I checked it out. Since it was lunch we decided to get one of the specials for around 7.95. We ordered Pad Prik; hers with chicken and mine with beef. Oddly, I saw a couple of guys sit down and look at the menu and leave. I couldn't understand. This was the freshest and most flavorful Thai that I have had the pleasure to eat in a while. It was served on a large platter with plenty of bell pepper, mushroom, onion, scallion and covered with their special chili sauce. Truly a delight to be there.
On my way out I struck up a conversation with Mr. Jim Cull. I knew he was helping there but I didn't know in what capacity. He explained to me that the gentlemen thought they had a sushi bar like their hugely popular restaurant downtown. He told me the story about how this was the first one opened and now they have added two more. He explained how the oriental chef trained everyone and he had spent time In Thailand to make sure the flavor combinations were authentic. It was a pleasant conversation and my niece was amazed that the food could taste so good. The price only set me back about $17.00. Worth it! -

I love the panang gai here. (Jasmine makes the best, however) But Bangkok Alley is way closer, so I usually end up here for my Thai fix. They also have a children's menu, which is nice, since most children aren't that adventurous. The service is always fast and everyone working here always seems to be in a good mood.
