Bamboo Jungle House
2 reviews for Bamboo Jungle House
We stayed here for our honeymoon in 2005. And honestly this B&B was a huge factor in making it so memorable!
We stayed in the Bamboo Garden Suite, right next to the little volcano-type hot tub whose controls allow the water to change color at night!Lucy coordinated with my mom and arranged a couple's massage by the pool, arrangements of tropical flowers in our suite, special baskets of chocolates and hawaiian treats, and she covered our bed with rose petals and candles. She also made us a special Hawaiian mix CD of romance songs! It was so sweet.
Lucy and Terry welcomed us into their home in the main building and fed us exquisite breakfasts of fresh Hawaiian fruit, pancakes, seasoned meats and locally ground coffees. My husband is not an early riser, but he was up every morning and seated at that breakfast table.
Every year since we have exchanged Christmas cards with Lucy and Terry and plan on returning to the Bamboo Jungle House as soon as finances and family issues permit us to escape to Kauai once more!

The Bamboo Jungle House is described as "a romantic, tropical bed and breakfast". It sure was. Run by a retired couple from Cape Cod who have found the magic formula to escape the rat race of the mainland, Lucy and Terry have found a way of making the island experience intimate and truly unique.
There are 3 guest rooms at this place (cutely named the Waterfall Room, the Jungle Room, and the Bamboo Garden Room), ensuring that you get the attention you need without being obtrusive. For the most part my companion and I were out and about during the day but with only three rooms to the place it almost felt like you were the only ones there. The breakfasts that Terry cooked up were AWESOME and gave us the energy we needed to get through the morning. Lucy's advice about where to go for the best hikes and views were invaluable.
They have a big pool and a heated waterfall grotto, basically all the amenities of a hotel without the 'other tourists'. It was as close to a local experience as I thought I could get on a vacation and I can't wait to return.
The location on this B&B in Kalaheo was perfect because the drives to Waimea and Poipu were not far at all.
