I've grown highly addicted to sushi lately. And I've been trying it EVERYWHERE. This place is as good as it gets.

I went for the all you can eat buffet which they have until 2:30pm daily. It's about $11.50 and just imagine all you can eat sushi (and amazingly tasking sushi), for $11.50/person.

On top of that they have all the typical Asian cuisine dishes (also all you can eat).

I only like to rate places that are a 5/5 and this place has been a consistent favorite for me for a few years.

Keep in mind: I've brought at least 5-9 NEW people there throughout the years that had never been there, and they are all now addicted to it and bringing their own friends. Now that's what I call an awesome place!

This is my hidden gem for a restaurant. It is by far my favorite place fo both Chinese food and sushi. My boyfriend and I usually sit at the sushi bar because now we have become regulars. We don't even have to have a menu anymore because they will give us sushi until we are stuffed.
The sushi is SO fresh. They are absolutely pros and so nice.

Restaurant is very clean as well and the food is served wicked fast. The Mai Tais are definitely their signature drink, quite strong but quite delicious.

When I had first came to this restaurant for our first date, I had never tried sushi before. They started off with California rolls and now, I'm actually eating raw sushi with a delicious glaze.
Highly recommend even if you have never had sushi before! I promise it does not smell fishy at all!

I tried to go to this restaurant on Sunday. Tried being the key word. I was refused entrance (along with other folks in my reservations-made party) because I had a service dog. The restaurant refused to acknowledge both the ADA and the Massachusetts General Law criminalizing discrimination of persons based on disability (which refusing access to me and my service dog includes). So while I would have loved to have tasted their foods and such, I couldn't.
I recommend the restaurant revise its discriminatory policies before anyone go there.

I was travelling through Dedham on a business trip and Yelp'ed for a great place to eat.  Bamboo didn't disappoint.  I'm usually not a fan of buffets due to the low quality required to shove out so much cheap food, but the Saturday lunch buffet won me over.  I enjoyed nearly every dish in the buffet.  The sauces and flavors were authentic and tasted high in quality.

Even at 20 minutes before closing, There were at least 20 Chinese, Thai, and Japanese dishes to choose from, including a decent selection of tempura and california rolls.  There are very few desserts, but I was not here for pastries.

The decor was one of the best I've seen for an Asian restaurant. I took off a point for the hot and sour soup and the shrimp dumplings, which weren't flavored well.  I will definitely return if I'm here on business again.

Sort of hidden away and attached to a Holiday Inn... I would never have thought to have journeyed here except that I saw it on Yelp! (nearby places on the app) The good reviews and the fact that they had good  sushi reviews peaked my curiousity and hunger.

It's clean and large and is very yummy indeed as other reviewers have testified. Also I thought the service was VERY friendly and prompt!

I had a purple geisha cocktail. Def was purple, strong and tasted good. Sushi and seaweed salad were also very good. Prices were average.

If you're in the area and want some sushi pop on in. They serve a fusion menu which includes chinese food. I haven't tried that yet, but I liked the sushi so much I may never try the chinese.

They have a lunch buffet which includes all you can eat sushi which beckons to me.. in fact beckons to me now.... when is lunch time? *stomach growls*

See the attached pictures of everything I got!.

I have driven by this place for years and never thought to go there. I mean seriously, it's in a Holiday Inn! ick! But one of my boyfriend's coworkers told him to give it a shot. So we did the other Saturday night and boy are we glad. We are just sad we waited so long!

This place is great. Best Asian food on the south side of Boston for sure. I can't believe we have subjected ourselves to the crappy Chinese in Hyde Park instead of coming here!

I got the miso soup and they told me it did not contain fish sauce. Vegan miso - yay! It came in a large bowl too. We also split the vegetable tempura. The first brought out the shrimp and veggie tempura to us because they mixed up our order. Not a big deal - just switched them. It was very good - lots of veggies and the perfect amount of batter.

I also got a salad with ginger dressing. It was huge! I mean huge! Way bigger than I expected and really cheap for the quantity. The dressing was good - not as good as some other Japanese places but still good.

We each got a pot of tea. She looked at us weird when we ordered the tea and we didn't know why. I think it's because you only need 1 pot of tea per table (plus it's $4.50/pot). But we didn't realize we were getting a whole pot. So we each had a pot to drink ourselves! Needless to say, we had to pee a ton after we ate there because of all the liquid we drank! Hah! I only wish she had told us we were ordering too much instead of giving us a look like we were crazy. There is a communication problem with the lack of English speaking waiters but that's not a big deal to us.

One neat thing is that when you get your tea (depending on which one you get) you get a sugar stick to use to add sugar to it.  How cool is that?  I feel like I am 8 years old in Williamsburg, Va again.

I also got the vegetarian sushi - the avocado maki. It was good. Nothing special but what I expected. I like how they use the nondyed ginger, yay for no dyes! (So it's brown instead of pink).

My boyfriend got the chicken moo shu pancakes and our waitress rolled each one of for him in front of us. It was neat to see -she did it all with spoons. He loved it and had leftovers for the next day.

    The prices were certainly reasonable.

They also do a buffer but it wasn't going on when we were there but I'd like to check it out sometime. It looked nice and has some vegan options.

The place is more up-scale, it's very clean, and I like the decor. The lighting could be dimmed just a little bit.

Bamboo Sushi is a fantastic regional sushi chain. The prices are reasonable and they have a very good sized menu. I could go into detail about the various different rolls but if you've had sushi before most of the stuff here is not new but only has a different name. One tip I can give is that when you sit at the sushi bar the sushi chef usually tosses you an appetizer for free.

A group of friends and I had heard that the buffet was very good, so we decided to have dinner here on Sunday night.  Several of our group are disabled and use service dogs to get around--mostly guide dogs, plus one hearing dog.  When we arrived, the hostess continually harangued those members for IDs and refused to seat us without them despite being shown (in the restaurant's own copy, no less) the relevant section of the Americans with Disabilities Act that prohibits requiring IDs for service animals.  We were made to wait for more than an hour while many other large parties were seated and we were repeatedly asked to wait outside in the heat (or illegally leave the dogs locked in our cars on a hot, sunny day, where they likely wouldn't survive), despite the fact that we'd made a reservation and that the restaurant was nearly empty.  Eventually, the police had to be called.

Surprisingly solid sushi.  Also, you can't beat the $10 all-you-can-eat lunch buffet.  Calorie bomb but really yummy.  For anything this far out of Boston, the sushi is excellent.  It is even better than most in Boston, maybe all.  Not as good as NY places like Hatsuhana, Haru, Nobu and the top top end places.  The lunch buffet has decent stuff.  The lunch buffet sushi is mostly rice, though.  Low on the meat - which is a bummer.  Nonetheless, this is a solid place.

Sunday buffets are 5pm-8pm for $18.85 a person (as of October 2010).

Delicious, solid selections of noodles, grilled meats, chicken skewers, stir-fried veggies, fried rice, and fruit and Jell-o desserts. Of course the sushi is the reason you'd go, because you can pay less than the $31 charged at Minado (Natick's buffet specializing in purely sushi), and concentrate on loading up your plate with primarily just sushi/maki.

Oh I shall definitely be back!

I wouldn't suggest getting hot stir-fried foods AND sushi. It just doesn't pan well together, but to each his own...

Nice place, clean, professional, good english speakers.  We come here for the lunch buffet.  They have the usual Chinese food at buffets, but it tastes less oily and less fried than other places - in other words, not as bad for you.  They also have a sushi section with real raw fish on the rolls, tuna, salmon.  the sushi runs out pretty quick, and they aren't in a hurry to replenish it, but still, better than I'd expect.

I went for a birthday gathering. Our party took up 3 tables of 10, with only 1 waiter.  Never had a problem trying to locate him.  Very efficient! Can't wait to go back!! They had a buffet and believe me, I am not a fan of buffets but the food taste so fresh and the selection, although small, was just right.  I also recommend this place if you ever just want to stop in and have a couple drinks and an appetizer. I had a Mai Tai and a Mango Mojito and they were SO DELICIOUS!!

Bamboo is this Chinese/Japanese place in Dedham next to the Holiday Inn. The three of us shared a bunch of surprisingly fresh appetizers for @ $35 and  they stayed at the nearby Inn for a mere $87 thanks to Hotwire.

My ghetto NY parents tried to order some "Missy" and "Wantaugh" soup in "Denim" but all is forgiven with light, healthy, flavorful food.
The place is upscale and minimalistic looking, dimly lit, glass, subtle wall waterfalls, sushi bar, bamboo poles. I felt like we should have had our shoes off and be eating at a  table at the floor!

Think restaurants right next to hotels have to be mediocre afterthoughts like "Boodles" (Pukeles) of Hilton Back Bay, no think again, my friend!  Assume restaurants that boast two full different ethnic menus are too ambitiously overboard, no sir, you will not get Bamboozled at Dedham's fine eating palace!

We really enjoyed the Japanese Agedashi-Tofu= fried tofu dipped in light fish broth with scallions, grated daikon, and Nameko mushrooms. Oh those zany Nameko buttons! Tender and thinly encrusted fu in a salty flavorful soup.

Besides this, we ordered some standards (my parent's version of dining asian is fast-food shack) and were pleased with it all. The spring rolls were fresh and good with the spicy mustard and sweet sauce. Let the spicy mustard clear your sinuses!!

The wonton soup was nice as the wonton's were thin and it had a little spice to it. The vegetable tempura was very nice; batter fried red pepper, sweet potato, broccoli. Boiled, salty Edamame peas are nutty and sweet and, of course, rule.

Other things that seem interesting at Bamboo is the deep fried shrimp ravioli, some dish that they serve in a pineapple, and I also  wonder about their duck. They have moo-shi pancakes, a seeming type of omelete with dried lily flowers, things, mushrooms and your choice of protein!

We drank lovely white green tea out of a medieval pot and my dad collected the fortunes from our chocolate fortune cookies.  It's about time they invented chocolate fortune cookies for us American chocolate hounds. I always thought that was a good idea, that, and flavored Eucharists.

    mmm chocolate flavored Eucharists.

    BAM!

If you like sushi then this is a must. There sushi is amazing. I would suggest the Celtic Maki. It is one of their specialties and is really good. Welcome to your slice of heaven. It's probably the best asian themed resturaunt I've ever been to.

I was introduced to the place by a good friend and my band mate. We usually go there for Sake and if we have time/money we'll get some sushi as well.

We went so often that they actually became familuar with us and quite fond too. Kitty and King were our servers EVERYTIME and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Theyre the most polite and happy people I have ever met.

The place is VERY clean, plenty of seating and you never have to wait to be seated. (at least I never had to wait) The price range is typical for this kind of place but it's well worth every penny.

I think I enjoy this place so much because of my own personal experience. Great place to eat though.

Bamboo is a Chinese restaurant attached to a hotel, and has pretty decent food, including an assortment of sushi. It gets crowded as hell at lunchtime though, so be forewarned, and definitely call ahead if you have a large party.

There's also a sushi bar or you can order off their regular menu - but why order off the regular menu when there's an entire buffet right there for about $13?

The place looks very fancy unless you look up.  The ceiling looked like it needed a new paint job.  A sushi bar and a full bar add to the flavor.  But i didnot come here for the atmospshe I came for the food and lots of it.

    The Buffet  $12.50
It came with a choice of a soup I got the hot and sour which was not undelicious. I decided that I would walk down the line eating everything at the buffet.  Not that great of an idea as alot of things had tofu in it (Im not a fan of tofu).   The food was good buth there was not alot of selection.  There was only one table with an estimated 16 choices of foods with a dessert/ sushi table.  Yes they have a buffet with sushi.  The sushi was good and from where I was sitting I could watch the chef prepare it.  I also saw some people snatch plates of sushi after the chef was done preparing it.

Speaking in regards to the buffet, and the buffet only, Bamboo is a pretty solid Chinese (although it's more of a Chinese/Japanese hybrid  eatery) restaurant.

Good selection, decent quality (even the Sushi, which isn't exceptional, but much better than most you'd find at a buffet table), and the dining area is spacious and surprising when one views the exterior, which is connected to a somewhat haggard looking Holiday Inn.

Only thing that keeps it from a four-star rating is the price. The buffet is good, but it's a bit more pricey than other Chinese buffets in the area. If the buffet were great, it'd be easier to stomach. It's still definitely a good place to get a Chinese buffet, and doesn't receive major negatives for the price at all, however.

I rarely give 5 stars and when I do...I can backup my reasoning. Bamboo is 5 stars all the way...is it pricy? Sure But you get what you pay for. Born and raised in Dedham I was visiting my family when I finally had the opportunity to try Bamboo. This restaurant is also owned by the Mandarin in Reading,MA which I also gave high marks to. I decided to try the lunch buffet and what a buffet it was....Chicken Fingers, Chicken Wings, Lo Mein, you name it they had it...including sushi. The wait staff was very good at refilling the stations and for $10.85 its a bargain considering a sushi roll or order of chicken wings would cost you at least $6. Many people say this place is pricy, rude wait staff etc....Let me say this...Bamboo has QUALITY Chinese food...and the place is very clean....I cant wait to go back!  95/100 I Duke it!

Better food, cheaper and more portions than PF Changs which is in Legacy Place. plus get huge portions for take out.

Plus, they have very tasty sushi and Japanese food to boot.

Rude people, especially the manager Kitty, who barely speaks understandable English.

We regularly ordered there for pick up. The one time they took an order for chicken with cashew nuts and, after getting home, we noticed the cashew nuts were not present, so they gave us the wrong order. We ate it anyway as they are too far and we were hungry.

Next week I ordered the same again and explicitly asked to pay attention that the dish would have the cashew nuts. First Kitty there barely understands what I say and has me repeat it and misstates the order several times. Then she seemed to think I wanted NO nuts. Then she finally understands that the past order was wrong and goes into the defensive and denies responsibility for any mistake.
When I ask for somebody who speaks better English she challenges me to cancel the order, the ultimate rudeness, and I did cancel.

This is next to the Holiday Inn, so like my Joe's review, you should expect to see this place with businessmen and tourists. My party was seated to a table that was in the smack middle of a wind draft, bad layout. We moved to another table and the service was slower than expected, it wasn't that busy. I didn't try the buffet, and see no reason to. The food that we ordered was mediocre, the shao-mai was bad. In the end, it's just another forgettable Americanese restaurant on the map.

The lunch buffet here is pretty amazing.  For $13, you get all the usual suspects at a Chinese buffet plus some sushi made fresh at the bar (not made to order).  Even though the selection seems somewhat limited at first, the quality really makes up for it.  It would have been 5 stars if its not so expensive.

    Ah, Bamboo...

Our standby restaurant in Sharon went out of business when the owner and his wife went back to China...so we reluctantly started going to other places. One day, my dad was going to see a film with his best friend and decided to check out this new place, Bamboo.

They sit down, and who is the waitress but the wife of the owner of Jade Garden? The best waitress in the world!

Bamboo's a bit pricey for "regular" Chinese dining, but the food's mad good, the staff is wonderful and the decor is gorgeous. The only thing that sucks is that you can't get wonton as a soup option when you order from the buffet. However, the buffet is great.

Can I give this place negative stars?  I cannot discrecommend this restaurant enough.  The service was terrible; it was the type of place where you not only have to laboriously explain what you want (when just ordering straight off the menu; no special requests) but then have to remind the waitress about everything that you ordered (a glass of water, the fact that the large soup was for everyone at the table, the brown rice I had ordered to go with our meal, etc.)  I am paying for wait service and I'd like to not have to pester you to do your job.  The food is below mediocre.  We ordered sizzling rice with chicken soup and a platter of sizzling beef with scallops.  Neither sizzled.  In fact, the food was served barely lukewarm.  And under-seasoned.  We also ordered a half duck.  I took two bites and it was cold and and covered in a slick of cold congealed fat.  I waiter for a manager to walk past and told her that the duck was cold and untasty, she immediately took it all away.  Then, at the end of the meal she told me that she had spoken to the chef and he said that she couldn't take it off the bill because it was "too expensive" and because we had eaten a few bites of it.  I said that we would not be paying for it.  She loudly lectured me that the slices of cucumber are cold and that is what made the duck cold.  I said, "no, the duck was cold before it was wrapped into pancakes."  She then kept repeating that cucumber is cold, over and over.  I said that I didn't want to argue but that I wasn't going to pay for it -- especially in light of the fact that they had taken it all off the table.  I also informed her that I was 32 years-old and knew that cucumber was cold and had eaten properly-prepared duck lots of times.  How could they charge $21.50 for a meal that she had taken away after we had 2-3 bites?  Nuts.  Anyway, she kept lecturing me after I asked to be left alone and I got so stressed out that I -- and I would not believe this if it didn't actually happen to me -- I vomited right at the table.  I was mortified.  She asked if she could get me anything and I said, "now will you please leave me alone?"  They ended up taking the duck off the bill but it was such a miserable experience that I can't believe they didn't comp the whole dinner.  Not that I'd ever go back there.  EVER.  Worst experience in a restaurant in my entire life.

** I should add that my family had been going to Bamboo since it opened and we've always really liked it ... my mom said it wasn't as good as it used to be and I had no idea how correct she'd be.  Beware older, glowing reviews.
